The humidity where I live has been persistent for over a week, and my home has started to develop issues with moisture and molding. I even found a live salamander living in a puddle under the indoor welcome mat. I had to do a bit of a scramble to get the house dry and check for any mold issues; things are stable now and maintenance is bringing a dehumidifier tomorrow, which will help greatly.\n\nAlongside that, Vermont is under severe flood watch. I've never had to deal with flood warnings, so I spent a lot of Monday learning about flood zones and what to do if the risk becomes reality. Overall, it looks like I happen to live just outside of the nearest flood zone, so the worst I'll face is road closures if I drive more than 15 minutes from my home. I'm very fortunate to be able to be safe during this, and my heart goes out to those who've lost their homes already in other parts of the state. I've signed up for weather alerts, and will remain vigilant for flash flood warnings and the like.\n\nSerious stuff aside! I'm trying to catch up on sketch commissions, as I've fallen a bit behind. I will have everything owed completed by the end of the week, rest assured on that! New slots will open up next week on Monday, assuming no other weather events delay me @.@\n\nSide note, did you know soft-serve is called a \"[url=https://www.helloburlingtonvt.com/blog/post/what-is-a-creemee/]creemee[/url]\" in VT? Some swear it's no different than any other soft-serve, and some insist it's its own type of frozen treat. I'm going to try one for the first time this weekend after a nature hike!
