Mostly, it felt fun to make rather than it exclusively being used to shove a product down peoples throats (though in this case of a sexual theme, that could seem appealing.) In general, I do feel that a lot of the media in these older decades along with the experiences at the time should be remembered and not fall into obscurity; there were real people that really put their time and passion into making these things along with their own creative vision, something that gets harder to find with a lot of the crossbreeding of social media. While there is a resurgence of retro in social media works, it kind of feels more like it can feel like a surface level copy of a copy of what they saw another artist do, which isn't a bad thing in itself, but overall, it doesn't really feel like their own *vision*. While art influences aren't anything new, oversaturation of the art that's out there with the modern internet can easily lead an artist to lose their own vision and mimic what's around them, which is amplified when the social media algorithm encourages it. I do feel to remedy this is to have influences outside of the sphere of art, maybe in books, movies, life, even engineering among other things, along with actually taking the time and space to let out our own genuine and raw works without the fear of judgement, which a private sketchbook does well.
