Quickly, the first beasts fell, their armor and weaponry not helping them in this battle as they landed and bleeded on the heated sand. Yet the second wave instantly followed their brethren, a wave that the brave pair had underestimated. One of the beastly warriors snarled and swung his arm around. The two knew all too well what it was, the small object that soared through the sky, then landed before them. The male wolf didn't hesitate for a second and sidestepped, shielding his mate as the canister before them erupted into a massive ball of fire. The explosion washed over them and the male roared as shrapnel lashed across his face, only to both be shrouded in a thick cloud of sand.
As the dust settles just enough for them to see anything at all, he felt his body burn and sting, his body cut up by metal shrapnel, his face bleeding quite badly. Yet he ignored it and glances over his shoulder, inquiring about his mate's health. She muttered that she was just fine, but his eyes widened. A slash across her face sent his blood rushing through his veins, causing the wolf to grit his teeth and inhale deeply. Turning back to waves of enemies before them, he snarled viciously, roared at the incoming enemies. Enraged at seeing a mere droplet of his mate's blood, he crouched down and balled his hands to fists. A black wave shot across his body. His pistol dissolved into ashes, but the black form only grew. The air distorted and metal groaned. An unnatural and surreal event, as it wrapped around his hand, his entire arm. It started to develop braces, bolts and even a massive shield, growing like a living organism, all to hold the massive barrel that grew and grew. In mere seconds, a giant cannon unfolded from a simple metal gauntlet and pistol, the metal altered and spawned into a devastating weapon. Blood started seeping as the gun drilled itself down into the wielder's skeletal structure. Blinded by rage, he didn't even flinch. Instead, he roared again, gritted his teeth, pulled his mate down behind the shield and aimed. As the dust settled and the fierce creatures witnessed the last bolts screwing into place, they stopped and watched. There was little they could do, as the first shot cracked. It echoed across the desert like thunder. A pillar of dirt erupted amongst the enemies, who screamed in either rage or pain. Several were flung around like ragdolls, not all of them in one piece. Yet the wolf, filled with rage, just sent another shell into the crowd, and another. He didn't care for any of his own wounds, no matter how deep they were, no matter how much it hurt. His vixen.. Nobody touched his vixen. Ever.."
