Sitting in front of the window, Luna kept an eye on the clock through the side of his eye. As the last day of the year ticked away, a few flashes of light appeared through the soft airborne snow - the fireworks of distant neighbors kicking off the new year with a literal bang. As much as he loved the sparks, Luna preferred a more quiet end to the year. The noise behind him faded to the background in his quiet reflection. He thought of a wish, for the last moments of the decade.
"More... of this."
He smiled to himself and pulled away from the window, looking over just what he had wished for more of. Elaine was struggling to keep her composure after Sasha stole the plastic mistletoe out of the box she had just put it away in, who was alternating between holding it over her head and her nude crotch, teasing away at her sister Elaine. Amy was oblivious to the naughtiness, currently dozing off in front of the cozy fire instead. Luna giggled, and set out to meet his auntie under the mistletoe while the night was still young.
After another hour or two, they had retired the long year. Luna would spend the first hours of the new decade exactly where he wanted to be: in the arms of his mother and auntie, and with his kitten sister in his own arms as the four shared a bed together.
And tomorrow, he would wake up right where he belonged.
