Whispers which seemed to fade away as quickly as they got spoken...
On a dark and rainy night, our young paladin was sitting alone in a tavern sipping on an ale and plotting his course to the Kingdom of Slyborn when a hooded figure sat before him. His claw instantly shot to his sword, ready to defend incase of an attack, but the stranger held up his hand, lowering his hood. It was an old gecko, he seemed tired, beaten, like he had one last thing to do in this world and then he was done. Darkmon's claw returned to the table as he listened intently...
"I know what you're searching for..." he spoke.
"And what might that be old man?" I replied.
"Him. His Kingdom." he said in but a whisper.
My body clenched as I felt it deep within the pit of my stomatch. Rage. Rage for the one who had left that village in nothing but ruins, the only survivor a young Cubone who i'd left with a trusted friend to go on this journey. "Where do I find him?" I asked, unable to hide the malice in my voice as my claws dug into the table some.
"You're already on the right track... I just thought i'd warn you that it's a trap" the old lizard said, placing something on the table with a heavy thud, sliding the cloth across the table to me and leaving his hand on it until I reached for it, taking it and unwrapping the dirty old cloth. An iron key, made of black steel, my eyes lifted to meet his. "That Key will get you into the castle... you'll know when to use it... and i'm afraid that is all I can do for you, god speed young Knight... May you find what it is you're looking for" he muttered as he stood and staggered away.
I had so many more questions, but by the time i'd gathered my things and made it outside, he was gone. Dissolved into the mist surrounding the tavern, I looked back at the key in my hand and took a deep breath as I steeled myself, my mission was almost complete. I would finish this, today. I turned towards the pathway i'd marked on the map, stopping in my tracks, the old Gecko was sitting at the base of a tree at the entrance to the footpath, I stopped beside him and placed two fingers on his neck... He was gone. The digimon sighed and stood, tightening the strap across his chest as he made his way north down the path...
A few hours later, he stood on a hill, before him was a castle, magnificent in size and design, it's stature rivalled even that of the capital city. He stared directly ahead and drew his sword, the greatsword heavy in his hand, but he wouldn't stop now. He couldn't. This was the night it would all end... Slyborn Castle, Here I come...
