Movie upload, so here we are with something Cinema related again. But this time I haven't seen the Movie, and honestly I'm not planning to see it. I'm of course talking about the Live-Action Remake of Ariel, the little Mermaid. As a Child it was my favorite Movie and Ariel was my favorite Princess, that's why I feel very attached to this IP. But the Remakes don't have a really good track record to say it as nice as I can. They range from completely unnecessary since the Original exist to an insult to Cinema. And honestly, Disney didn't do a great Job of advertising it to me. A grew up to the Original, and I am an Adult now, so I think I'm exactly their target Audience, but I feel like the advertising was just really weird.\n\n\nI was considering for a long time if I even should make something for the Movie, but I decided to not stay silent. I know some People think that I'm racist because I'm basically saying that I don't like a Movie that I haven't seen, that has a black Actress, but if you reverse that Logic everybody should have watched every Movie with a Black Actor or Actress in it and since you can't demand anybody to watch a certain amount of Movies that doesn't work. What about Movies with two Main Actors and only one is Black? What about the once with a black side Character? What about smaller Indie Films? What about Movies made by black Directors? By using the adverts to point out that the Leading Actress is black, you just focus everybody's attention on the Fact that she is black. It feels like the Actress Halle Bailey only because she was black which would create controversy and therefor free advertising for the Movie and not for any Reason more than that. And if that's the case, who is the real Racist here? I honestly feel a bit sorry for Halle Bailey in this situation. I know she gets paid a lot of Money for that Role, so she is probably fine, but I don't think it's ok to make a trailer where in the end the big revel is that the Main Character is black now. There were better ways to do that, and I think that this was on purpose. I think the Movies doesn't try to create a unique Piece of Art, but instead tries to create as much controversy as possible and see if it works at the Boy office.
