So I put up an online ad with a few embedded runes to make sure that only candidates with actual magical potential would see it. Wasn't expecting many candidates, but I got a few. Results were... mixed.\n\nCandidate #1, Andrea Waterman, definitely seems to have magical aptitude at a glance, but is otherwise a total Muggle. Especially since her grasp of magic seems limited to seeing the Harry Potter films, and as a result thinks magic will interfere with electronics like her smartphone, no matter how many times I explained otherwise. She did ask if the position meant she had to sleep with me, and stated she'd slept for grades before. Low potential, but easy on the eyes, and at the very least could make for a good bed-warmer.\n\nCandidate #2, Jark Braddock. Nerdy, has read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi, good grades, has even played some D&D in the past. Seemed highly interested and inquisitive. And rather cute, too. Overall, thought I had a winner with this guy. Unfortunately, once I started full disclosure on some of the potential risks of practical thaumaturgy, he seemed less then eager, and asked to leave.
