Initially Dolly would just murmur the name Billy in her sleep to which Tray would ask her who she was and Dolly would just say it's one of her friends. This lead people to suspect that Dolly was being untrue to Tray until it was later revealed that Billy was a girl. After that certain sections where Dolly would drop the name when discussing her friends were added to remove the confusion with the male sounding name. At the same time Nipperscorp, a well known delicacy of Monsterville was being developed into the game. Fans of the game really wanted a scorpion as a character so a Bilscorp was chosen. It was only later that the association between Billy and Bilscorp started to arise out of the similar sounding names. It was never discussed what species Billy was although the original creator did mention in a chatroom once that it was a chicken. However by now the association between the two was starting to spawn fanfictions so the savvy developers changed it so they could use the fanfictions people had created in the game. This meant of course that Billy had to appear in game and so their visual design was created. Following having a complete character design the writing came thick and fast and soon the character developed into a fully fledged character moments before the 2016 remake.
