","writing":"The ship is sinking but our love isn’t\n\nMorning soon came to the two snuggled into the large soft bed, the sun starting to shine through the window behind the bed, warming the two, even causing them to stir a little. The merret snuggled tightly against her lover, nuzzled happily against his chest, letting out little squeaks in her sleep, tail wrapped around his leg.\n\nRandy woke slowly, starting to stretch lazily and carefully so as not to disturb the merret girl snuggled up against him. He looked down at her beautiful face as she slept, the memories from the previous night flooding back into his mind. Hugging her a little tighter he lay his head over the top of hers, the clock on the nightstand coming into view. “Ah shit,” he mumbled softly. “Fucking hell.”\n\n“Mmmmmh.” May squeaked out as she heard her lover cursing, her eyes opening and looking up to him. “Oh come one, sleeping in a little bit won't hurt.” She said smiling and tugging at him. “I mean this is a vacation ya’ know.”\n\n“Yea,” the equine boy said with a little frown on his muzzle. “Except I was supposed to meet the family for breakfast this morning. Something about discussing the details of my brothers wedding or some shit. And I just know Shannon is going to give me shit. Except that he’s seventeen… and by the time they actually tie the knot she barely going to be under the radar as far as the laws back home.” Looking to the phone in his paw a huge grin broke out on his face. “Okay, that makes me glad you’re joining me for this breakfast with the family thing.” Tapping at the screen of his phone for a few moments he added, “listen to this shit. Hey, Randy… see you’re late for the family meeting. Stop hiding out to prove a point loser. Come and take your lumps and get over it. I win and we both know it, love ya, your sister the winner.”\n\n“Oh she sounds like a little bit of terrific.” May said smiling and licking her lips. “So hot stuff…..let's show her who really won this.” She said taking his hand and pulling him close. “I have a few tricks up my sleeves. So lead the way.”\n\n\n“So who are we waiting for….I’m hungry.” Shanoa said with a little huff. “I say that we just get started.”\n\n“No….we have to wait….and Shanoa….behave.” Chou said cutting a glance to her sister. “Or do you want me to tell these nice people some of the stories of when you first moved to the states and how weird everything was for you.”\n\n“You know, I could do the same to you.” Shanoa said shaking her head a little.\n\n“Alright you two.” Hana said shaking her head a little. “I will lock you in your rooms if I have to.”\n\n“Sorry we’re late…” Randy said as he and the merret walked up to the table his soon to be extended family were seated around. “We overslept a little, guess we wore ourselves out more than we thought,” he continued with a smirk on his lips. “May, I present my family, such as they are. My mother Tabitha,” he said gesturing towards the older equine woman at the table. “My father Alexander, my older sister Shannon,” he said emphasising her name a little. “The older of my two younger brothers, and the one that’s getting married is over there, say hello Zeus,” he said pointing out his brother, “the pretty, and yet foolish little puppy beside him is Hana, his bride to be, and that one,” he finished with his family members, “ is my youngest brother Brian. The lovely raccoon dog is Hana’s mother Chou, and the catwolf hybrid is Hana’s aunt Shanoa. Everyone… this is May, my new girlfriend… and maybe in a little time more than that,” he ended wrapping his arm around the merret’s waist and pulling her against himself.\n\n“Girlfriend… yea right,” Shannon said with a smirk on her lips. Looking to the merret she asked, “so how much is he paying you for this little production number?”\n\n“Me getting paid for this…..I’m offended…..you make me sound like some girl from the corner of the street.” May said shaking her head. “He’s not paying me anything…..He, himself is all the payment I need.” She said smiling and kissing him on the cheek.\n\n“Well it looks like Dense got him some last night at least.” Shanoa said smiling and snickering a little bit.\n\n“Shanoa…..what did I just say?” Hana said looking to her aunt and then to May. “Pay her no mind….she’s been around chemicals to long, they fried her brain.”\n\n“Na…..that’s what I have interns for.”\n\nLeaning over and whispering to his lover Randy said, “and this I pretty much what I put up with every day. Like I said, they’re a little weird but I love ‘em.” As he stood upright again, guiding the merret towards the empty chair beside the younger raccoon dog girl he snagged an unoccupied chair from the next table over from where the group were seated. After pulling out her chair and holding it until she was seated he sat the chair in his paw beside her and got settled in. \n\n“Please excuse our families May… things are a little weird right now with this whole wedding thing and all,” the younger equine boy said.\n\n“You met my family yesterday…..yeah….your family is pretty normal compared to some of the people that I have meet through dad.” She said smiling and looking at the people around the table. “It’s nice to meet you all.”\n\n“It’s a pleasure to meet you also May,” the older male said smiling warmly at the merret. \n\n“Don’t let this bunch scare you off young lady,” Tabitha said shaking her head a little. “We’re usually a pretty sedate bunch, everyone is just a little worked up with the trip and all.”\n\n“I kinda thought that it was something like that. Being on a ship like this for the first few times will do that.” She said smiling to the mother. “I guess that I’m used to it with all the traveling that we do.”\n\n“Wow…..looks like you lost that bet and then some.” Shanoa said smiling. “Ol’ Dense there got him a jet setting little hottie.”\n\n“Yea, yea, yea,” Shannon said making a sour face at her brother. “Let’s say I buy this whole ‘girlfriend’ thing even a little bit, which I don’t. Once I got to know her just a little it was an easy decision to make to marry her, even though I’m sure most people will think I’ve lost my damn mind. I don’t care about that, all I do care about is being happy, and making her the happiest puppy in the world.”\n\n“Awww that’s so cute.” May said smiling, pausing for a moment. “So….How did a little puppy like her kick your ass?” She asked tilting her head a little bit.\n\n“Ancient family secret.” Shanoa chimed in. “Well that and like all of our side of the family has been practicing some form of martial arts.”\n\n“So like me and my muay thai.” May said nodding a little bit. “But yeah Zeus. It’s like you said….you just kind of know that they are the one in a strange way…..even though merrett bait lost the fight on purpose.”\n\n“IT got your attention, and gave me a shot to get to know you a little didn’t it?” the horse boy asked with a big grin. “Besides, I was distracted by… things.”\n\n“Things…” Zeus said letting out a loud whinny, “you were busy checking out her ass weren’t you?”\n\n“Mayyyyyyybbeeeeeeeeeee…” Randy said smiling and giggling softly. “Can you blame me? Shoving his chair backwards he turned a little and put his paws on the merret’s waist pulling her closer and into his lap. “And screw this, I found a girl that will, and does accept me for who I. Yea, it may be sudden, or fast or whatever. But to be totally honest I think I may be in love so bite me. I have no idea where things are going between May and myself, but I sure as hell intend to find out.”\n\n“You know. I’m sure that I can talk the Priest into doing a two for one wedding.” Shanoa said with a little snicker. \n\n“Oh my.” May said as she was pulled into her lover’s lap. “I…..I love you.” She said as she wrapped her arms around her lover and held him tight, kissing him on the lips. “It’s like I said….we might not know what's going to get in the way….but together we will slap Vinewrath.”\n\n“Wait...you play?” Shanoa asked tilting her head. “I need to play with you….see if you're worthy of the boy there.”\n\nScowling across the table at her son and the catwolf Tabitha asked, “do I need to have you both locked in your rooms until we get to Japan? I mean for fucks sake this is supposed to be a vacation and a trip to marry off ONE son, not the whole fucking herd.”\n\n“Mom?” Shannon said with a wide eyed gasp.\n\n“Calm down honey, I’m sure that…” Alexander began before his mates steely glare silenced him.\n\n“She started that,” Randy said nodding towards the catwolf as he stared into his lovers eyes deeply. “Besides, before we could consider marriage… there is something that still has to be done, and before you ask… it’s none of anyones damn business what that is.”\n\n“Don’t worry Ms Tabbitha. I wouldn’t dream of making this trip about anything other than Zeus’ wedding and that celebration.” May said smiling and nodding to the mother pony. “And we’re not going to jump off into things that fast….I mean you all still have to meet my family and all the insanity of that.”\n\n“If it needs to be done than do it, when would be the best, and soonest time to make that happen.” the older female asked as she looked to the girl in her older sons lap. “Let’s get the insanity done and over with so there can be no more of it. And I swear to GOD if the rest of you don’t behave I will start throwing furs overboard myself.”\n\n“Now Ms Tabitha.” May said looking to the mother. “I know that this has to be like the most stressful thing ever….so if you would. I would love to take you on a spa day….at the fanciest place…..my treat.” She said pausing for a moment. “You know. That way, me, you and maybe Shanona can get to know one another, and leave Randy to get the dinner date all set up.”\n\n“That would be very nice, I accept your kind off young lady. But it will not change my mind, I want this insanity dealt with and over so I can try to focus on my son’s wedding and little else.” Glarng at the rest of her children and the catwolf she added, “and I do mean I will throw you all overboard if the foolishness does not stop… immediately.”\n\n“Yes ma’am.” Shanoa said nodding. “I have my bag with me if you need to give her something to help her relax.”\n\n“Like I said Ma’am.” May said, interrupting Shanona before she could dig herself any deeper. “This trip and all is all about Zeus’ and his wife to be….I’m sure that my family will end up taking the reigns on the wedding when that time comes. So sit back and relax.”\n\n“Alright,” Tabitha said finally seeming to relax, though just a little. “Now can we have a nice family meal and discuss Zeus and Hana’s wedding? Without anymore drama being drug into the mix?”\n\n“That sounds lovely.” Chou said, speaking up and smiling at everyone. “I think that one of the first things that we need to talk about is, fitting for the kimonos and such, that sound good to you momma pony?”\n\n“That sounds fine,’ the equine woman said seeming to relax just a bit more as the discussion at the table turned back to the matter at paw.\n\n“Ok, the main thing with kemonos, is that, you're going to have kinda tight cloth around your chest and belly, so is that going to be a issue with anyone here? Is a manor something different here in the states?” Chou asked. “I mean all it is, is a big, kinda old house.” She said shrugging a little.\n\n“Daddy says that’s the kind of house snooty, rich jackasses with too much money live in,” Brian chimed in from his seat beside Zeus.\n\n“You don’t know how right you are little man.” Shanoa said smiling. “Bunch of rich old farts.”\n\n“I guess that I should come clean now.” Chou said shaking her head a little bit. “Our family is one of the older, more well known families in the district. That’s why I had said something about there might be a lot of people at the wedding.”\n\n“Yea… that’s the part that still has me a little worried, “ Zeus said looking at the raccoon dog mother sideways. “Especially since you still haven’t really nailed down even a vague number when you say a lot.”\n\n“I will try to keep it under….oh about a hundred…..” Chou said looking up to the ceiling. “Some of the town will want to come to it too. Is anyone allergic to anything?”\n\n“Nothing that we know of,” Tabitha said looking around the table at her offspring. “Nor is anyone a particularly picky eater.”\n\n“Nope, and I’m kind of looking forward to trying some of the local specialities,” Randy said with an odd look on his face, his gaze traveling from the catwolf to the raccoon dog repeatedly. “Sooo… one question real quick,” the palomino boy said pausing for a moment “These kimono…. things that’s for the women right?”\n\n“No, they are gender neutral more or less. The cut and color of them make them more for more for one gender or the other. I already told them what we needed, so no worry there.” Chou said smiling.\n\n“Ok Dense. You have been cutting your eyes between me and Chou there for a minute….is there something that you need to say? So Kimonos are the dress code, makes things easier for me, not sure what to expect food wise, but I bet it will be… interesting at the least. So anything else we should know, besides there could be a huge crowd of furs there?”\n\n“Raw fish and rice…...lots of rice…...so much so that it’s coming out of your ears.” Shanoa said with a snicker. “Though it is a lot of fish and rice, though in town there are fast food places and all that, so there is a lot to pick from.” She said smiling a little bit.\n\n“One thing I only now thought to ask,” Alexander chimed in. “I know that some faiths in the states have a portion of the ceremony where the parents give their consent and all that, I didn’t find a lot of what I would consider accurate information on traditional ceremonies in Hana’s native land. Could you ladies maybe walk us through the process a little by chance?”\n\n“It’s a lot like a western wedding.” Chou said nodding and smiling to the father. “I or Shanoa will walk fluffy there down the aisle, and then you or your wife or both will do the same with Zeus.” Chou said turning and looking down to Brain. “And I think that you handsome little man, will make a cute little ring bearer.”\n\n“Okay, then I think we should be on track with what to do,” the father horse said with a short nod.\n\n“So is there like a rehearsal or anything like that?” Shannon asked looking to the older women at the table.\n\n“Yes, that will be a few days before the real deal.” Chou said nodding. “So there isn’t too much to worry about. Seating and stuff like that, then decoration and the like. That will be the most work that I can foresee.”\n\n“So other than showing up to get married what do Hana and I need to do momma Chou?” Zeus asked nuzzling against his girlfriend's neck softly. \n\n“Well we have to dye her fur white for one.” Shanoa said smiling and snickering a little.\n\n“If you’re going to come up with your own vows, then that’s something for you two to work on during the trip.” Chou said, paying no mind to her sister.\n\n“Hmmm, Hana sweetheart… what do you think? Go with something more traditional or write our own vows?” the equine boy asked his lover softly.\n\n“Well I was going to write my own.” She said softly, smiling to her lover. “Make it all the more for you and me and all that.” Hana said kissing her soon to be husband on the cheek.\n\n“Alright, then our own vows it is,” Zeus said kissing his bride to be on the cheek. Whispering in her ear he added, “and even more reason to stay in our room alone… nude… “\n\n“If it’s more like a western wedding then I take it there will be a reception afterwards. Does that mean I get to see my brother make an ass of himself on the dance floor?” Shannon asked with a little giggle.\n\n“I’m not that bad of a dancer Shannon,” Zeus replied with a huff. “Not like that guy you were dating last year. What was his name again….Scott?”\n\n“He wasn’t…” she began to complain, pausing for a moment as she thought about the boy again. “Okay… I’ll give you that one. I mean for an ermine he had all the grace of a brick. Still, you and those hooves of yours don’t seem to be on the same planet most of the time.”\n\n“We’ll see sis, we’ll see,” the equine boy said confidently.\n\n“Don’t worry. I will show the boys….and any of the rest of you that want to learn how, to really cut a rug.” Shanoa said smiling and snickering a little.\n\n“You know, I just thought about it.” May said looking to her lover. “Can you dance? I know that would get you a lot more points with mom and dad. They both love to dance.”\n\n“Unlike fumble foot over there,” Randy replied nodding towards his younger brother, “I can more than hold my own on the dance floor. At one time I wanted to be a…” he said trailing off for a moment. “ Well… I wanted to be a professional dancer, let’s just leave it at that.”\n\n“So you wanted to be the swan princess or something?” Shanoa said snickering a little. “You do have the body to cut a rug there.”\n\n“Something like that,” the equine boy replied, his ears tinged a pale pink with blush.\n\n“You know. I might have a tutu some place…..” Shanoa said giggling a little.\n\n“I would tell you to kiss my ass Ms. Shanoa… but honestly I’m more than half afraid you would,” Randy responded with a little grin on his face.\n\n“Well then, don’t be a wuss…..” Shanoa said getting up and walking over to the boy. “Cause I will do it. Kiss ya right on the ass.” She said giving him a quick little peck on the cheek.\n\n“Kind of what I figured,” Randy said giggling a little. “But that is reserved for May, sorry.” Grinning broadly he added, “though I much prefer to kiss her ass… and other things.”\n\n“Okay, so what else do we need to know about, not only about the wedding but about your native land as well?” Alexander asked leaning back in his seat.\n\n“Good question,” Tabitha chimed in. “After all none of us have ever been to Japan… I would hate for one of my herd to get themselves in deep shit over doing something they shouldn’t without even knowing it.”\n\n“Just be on your best behavior and all that. Make sure that you don’t do anything disrespectful on temple grounds, you know, things like that.” Chou said nodding softly. “Bowing is important. It is a big sign of respect, it’s nothing too hard, a lot of places are fine with you doing your best as you lot aren't from there...so yeah.” She paused a moment, before Hana spoke up.\n\n“Table manners are a little different. You don’t tip….for anything….it’s really considered an insult. Slurping noodles…..or food really, is ok, it shows that you like it.” The younger pup said smiling and nodding.\n\n“Shoes. They are to be taken off in houses, buildings and many other places. If it’s a business, then they have shoe racks and slippers for you. And never ever step on a tatami mat.” Shanoa spoke up. “Any questions?”\n\n“What is a tatami mat? I want to know if I’m about to screw up before I do,” Shannon said looking to the group of females. “I mean is it like a rug or a doormat or what?”\n\n“Their a kind of mat that is used for sitting on. It’s fairly soft and spongy. Don’t worry you will know one when you see it….that and we will show you one before you have to worry about it.” Hana said smiling as she pulled out her phone and keyed something into it before showing the table what a tatami mat looks like.\n\n“Okay, now that I know what they look like I think I got it covered.\n\n“You mentioning them though brings up another question,” Randy said leaning his head to the side a little. The whole tables and chairs thing… more western or more traditional in general? I mean, I need to get used to sitting on the floor right?”\n\n“It all depends on the place really.” Chou started. “Like the mannor, a lot of the sitting that is going to be done there is going to be on the floor, but there are many food places that have tables and chairs.”\n\n“Just wanted to ask, I looked a lot of things up before we left but you never know what’s accurate or what’s bullshit on the internet. Okay, other than Hana and Zeus… make yourselves scarce for about a half an hour. I want to have a little talk with those two. After that May,” she added turning to look at the merret, “I would love to join you for that little diversion, I think I need a break from this shit before I go batshit insane.”\n\n“I don’t know. I think that you’re showing a few signs now.” Shanoa said getting up from the table. “I know a good shrink.” She said as nodded to the group as she started heading off, the others setting off to take care of things.\n\n“Okay hot legs… what do we do to kill time and wait on mom?:” Randy asked as the pair got to their foot-paws.\n\n“We go talk to my mom.” May said smiling and leading her lover off to where her mother wanted to meet them.\n\n“She may have a point mom,” Shannon said as she rose from the table. “Don’t get mad, but honestly I think you’re letting this get to you more than it should.”\n\n“When you have children, and one of your son's falls for a girl and drags your family off to a foreign land to get married… then come and tell me how I’m letting things bother me too much,” the older female said glaring at her daughter.\n\n“Don’t worry Ms. Tabitha. We will handle all of the big details and all of that, you can just sit back and enjoy the time on the ship and all that.” Hana said smiling to the mother pony.\n\n“I’m trying Hana, but it’s hard to think of my boy getting married and leaving home,” the older woman said dropping her head into her paws.\n\n“Mom.. it’s not like I’m moving to another planet or something. Hana and I will be at the cabin and you can come see us anytime. Though yumay want to call first so we can be… ummmm, well decent when you get there.\n\n“We will make sure to come see you and visit and all that.” Hana said smiling to the mother pony. “And if you want to I will make sure that he calls you everyday.”\n\n“Twice a week will be fine Hana,” the older female said with a soft smile. “And I’m sorry you two… I guess I am letting all this get to me more than it should.”\n\n“It’s okay mom, Zeus said walking over and hugging his mother warmly. “I mean we did kind of bulldoze you with all this and it’s all happening pretty fast.”\n\n“Yes… but that’s no reason to go on an all out freak out son,” Tabitha replied shaking her head a little. “Just try to bear with me, I’m sure I’ll be fine before we get to Japan.”\n\n“Once you get used to being out on the water, things will get better. You just have to get used to the rock of the boat and all that. That and that spa day is going to do wonders for you. Mud baths, manis and pedis, all that good stuff.” Hana said smiling and walking over to the mother and her soon to be husband, joining in on the hug.\n\n“I love ya mom, always have and always will,” Zeus said kissing his mother on the cheek.\n\n“I know that,” the mother horse said turning to look her son in the eyes. “I also know that unless you’re truly an insufferable ass I’ll be number two on the list of women you love. That’s exactly as it should be, but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with.”\n\n“You know. I’m sure that there is some kind of Oedipus joke in there someplace, but I’m not channeling Shanoa for it.” Chou said with a snicker. “There are two kinds of number one woman in a man’s life. The first is his mother, always his number one go to for all the things that he can’t or is too embarrassed to go to someone else for. Then there is his number one lover…..Hana. The one that he goes to for other things…..and still ends up going to his mother to ask things he is still too embarrassed to ask his wife….something like that.”\n\n“True enough,” Alexander chimed in. “But I understand what she’s talking about. Mom has been his number one for everything up until now. Once he takes a bride she becomes his first love and first concern. That’s the part she is having a little trouble with, it’s normal but it bothers her that it bothers her.”\n\n“I thought I was better prepared for this is all,” Tabitha said closing her eyes for a moment. When she opened them again she smiled alittle and said, “okay, enough of the mom freaking out for now. I have a spa day to go to, and you two have things to take care of I’m sure. Go on, go take care of your woman Zeus, and don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”\n\n“Alright… if you say so mom,” the equine boy said glancing to his father, the older male nodding a little.\n\n\n\n\nKnocking at the door to one of the other suits, the merrett called out. “Hey mom….it’s us….let us in.” May called out as she waited at the door with her lover.\n\n“God I hope this goes well, I have to tell you, breaking this to her… and your dad has me as nervous as a feral cat with nine tails in a rocking chair factory,” the equine boy said his paws shaking just a little.\n\n“Don’t worry.” May said as the door swung open, the mother mouse standing there smiling at the two.\n\n“Now what is it that is so important that you needed me to get your father and sister out of the room?” Emile said as she invited the two in.\n\n“Well we need to have a little talk, we have something to tell you and dad, and we thought that it was better to tell you first….you know how to handle dad.” May said as she and Randy walked into the room, sitting down on the sofa.\n\n“If you’re about to tell me that you’re knocked up now…..you have three seconds to start running.” She said glaring at her daughter.\n\n“God damn mom, it’s nothing like that.” She said shaking her head….It’s way off from that.” May said turning and looking at her lover. “Do you want to tell her or do you want me to?”\n\n“No, it’s my problem so it’s my place to do this,” the horse boy said looking from his lover to her mother. “It’s not anything like that, it’s about me personally ma’am. After the way dinner went… there is something you and her father need to know before things get any further out of paw, or before they go any further between May and myself.” Pausing and starting to wring his paws a little Randy looked to the floor for a moment before looking the mouse woman in the eyes and saying, “I’m… not exactly what you see before you, I’m transgender.”\n\n“Ok.” The mother mouse said cocking her head to the side a little. “I know that it’s kind of a bombshell and all for you to tell me that….but I see nothing wrong with it….” She said shrugging a little.\n\n“See I told you that mom would be good with it.” May said smiling and putting an arm around her lover.\n\n“Dad is going to be a little iffy on the idea…..but some of his clients are trans….so he knows about them…..I think that the first thing out of his muzzle is going to be trying to sell you something…..damn salesman.” She said with a giggle. “But I will talk to him and soften it up for him and all…...and sweetie….as far as I care, you're not trans….you’re a fine, young man.”\n\n“Thank you for understanding,” Randy said visibly relaxing a little. “Honestly, I’m not used to people not instantly judging me, or outright calling me a freak when they find out.”\n\n“Na. When you have studied the things that I have, you learn pretty quick that genetics…..well they fuck up and sometimes they do it in a big way or a weird way.” She said smiling and reaching over the table and patting him on the knee. “You know, the fact that you needed to tell us this, this quick, shows that you really do like Marie….and that is one of the biggest things for her father.”\n\n“Yes ma’am,” he replied reaching over and taking the merret’s paw in his. “I do like her, more than maybe I should to be honest, but she’s just so amazingly beautiful. Not just her looks, her personality is more what draws me to her more and more.”\n\n“I feel like you might have just called me ugly.” May said turning and looking at her lover, keeping a stone face as she did. “You know, it’s a good thing that my sister isn’t around to hear you say that.” She said snickering a little.\n\n“That’s not how I meant it and you know it,” the equine boy said cocking an eyebrow at the girl beside him. “You’re beautiful on the outside, hell even a blind man could see that. But you’re even more beautiful inside, you know who you are, and where you come from and you’re completely comfortable with it. You don’t let anything, and especially your family's status change you. That’s more rare than you may think and it’s rare to find a pretty girl that is happy with herself enough to be just a pretty girl and leave the attitude behind.”\n\nShe smiled as she pressed her lips to his, shutting him up for a moment before pulling back and snickering a little. “It was a joke….now, do I need to help you get your boxers untwisted?”\n\n“My boxers are just fine thank you,” Randy said smiling at his lover. Turning his attention back to her mother he continued. “But yes, we are getting along so well that I don’t want a surprise like this to just pop up and ruin things for us. I thought it better to tell you and her father now, avoid any… unpleasant ramifications later because of keeping it secret.”\n\n“I know sweet lips.” She said smiling and kissing him on the cheek. “And like mom and I said, dad will prolly be fine with it. I know that one thing out of his muzzle will be something about not having grandkids or something like that.”\n\n“Well…” the equine boy said, a blush suddenly coloring the insides of his ears a deep pink. “That’s…. well that’s how I heard about that biotech company in the Denver I was telling you about before. It, ummm it seems they’ve come up with something that makes it possible.”\n\n“Oh me.” May said smiling and snickering a little.\n\n“Not till you’re older” Emile said shaking her head a little. “And out of the house.”\n\n“Love you too mom.” The younger merrett said shaking her head.\n\n“Well the gender reassignment surgery is going to happen within a year, and I haven't really decided if I want to go that far. It’s still experimental and there’s a chance that it won’t work,” the horse boy said looking from his lover to her mother again. “But if May and I get that far in our relationship, and it was something she wanted I would seriously consider all our options.”\n\n“Well…...I’m sure that dad can help with the ‘other’ options.” May said rolling her eyes a little. “He either knows someone that can do it or his company can do it.”\n\nCocking his head to the side a little Randy said, “you know… he mentioned being a businessman. But he never mentioned what business… exactly what is it your father does?”\n\n“Synth Co.” May said shaking her head a little. “It’s a medical tech supply chain mostly, but they do some side research and stuff like that…...Stuff that will put an insomniac to sleep.”\n\n“Well that explains the comments about him trying to sell me something,” Randy said with a snicker. “But he’d have to take that up with doctor Branderhouse. Give the little, mouse, ferret, horse…..abominations a stable house.”\n\n“Merrenines?” Randy said giggling a little\n\n“That sounds like it would fit a wiggle pony.” May said snickering.\n\n“There’s the name right there. Wiggle Ponies.” Emile said giggling.\n\n“Wiggle ponies… with a squeaky slinky for a mother… heaven help us,” the horse boy said shaking his head slowly.\n\nIt was about then that the door to the room opened and the father ferrett and youngest merrett walked through. The little merrett sitting on her dad’s shoulders ducking through the door frame. “Honey, we’re home.”\n\nLooking to his lover Randy asked, “so ummm, are we about ready to go or what?”\n\n“Yeah…...there is a spa day that we have to get to.” She said smiling and getting up, looking to her mother, who gave them a little nod.\n\n“Oh hello you two. Stop by for a little visit?” The father ferrett asked, smiling at the two.\n\n“Hai dad. We did, but we have to roll. Sweet lips there and I have a spa date to get to.” May said smiling\n\n“May and Sweet lips sitting in the tree.” Jenney sang, from her spot on her father’s shoulders.\n\n“K-I-S-S-I-N-G.” May sung back to her sister. “And we did a lot of it.” She said poking her tongue out at her sister.\n\n“Ewwwwwwwww you have boy germs and cooties.” She said with a giggle as the two turned and started out of the room.\n\n“It’s okay short stuff,” Randy said as the pair drew closer to May’s father and sister. “One day in a few more years some little boy will give you boy germs and cooties too,” he said poking her playfully in the ribs a little as they walked by.\n\n“Ewwwwwwww. I don’t want cooties and boy germs. I need a baff…..he touched me.” She said giggling at the poke.\n\n“You know…..that was a first.” May said smiling and taking her lover’s hand in her’s. “She’s warming up to you.”\n\n“So is her sister,” the horse said pulling her close as they walked through the doorway and into the hallway. “Now if I can just have the same luck with a sexy merret’s father… things will be great.”\n\n“I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I’m sure that he is going to be fine with it.” She said smiling and pressing herself to her lover. “He might be a little weird about things, but even with this….mom’s got this….and if he has something to say about it….then yeah….I will put my paw down and pout at him.”\n\nGrinning broadly the equine boy turned to look at his lover, “and that still works even at your age? That’s… kind of special.”\n\n“I’m not that much older than you…..I think.” She said with a little huff. “And yes….pouting works oddly enough….I guess it’s cause I’m still daddy’s little princess or something like that.”\n\n“Hmmm, pretty sure that makes you the first princess I’ve ever been with,” Randy said chuckling softly. “Okay your highness, I guess for now we have the telling the parents I’m tans thing kind of handled… so what’s on the agenda now?”\n\n“Well there is the spa day with your mother.” She said smiling and nuzzling up to her lover. “You want to join us? Get nice and pampered and all that?”\n\n“Tempting, very tempting,” the horse male said nuzzling the merret in return. “But actually… I think while you have my mom occupied I’m going to hit the internet cafe and check out what I can find about that company back home. See what all they can actually offer in… upgrades and enhancements to the equipment.”\n\n“Hehe I hope that they have those computers in a booth.” She said with a little snicker. “I mean I know that the people there are going to look at you a little strange when they look at your computer and see that you're looking at something like that.” She said pausing for a moment. “Or you could use one of my boxes.” She said as she snuck in a butt touch.\n\n“I think I’ll wait on using one of your ‘boxes’ until later sweet lips,” the equine replied turning the merret and wrapping her in his arms. “I can be adventurous, but I think that's just a bit over the line for public consumption. Besides, I’d much rather keep all this sexy to myself.”\n\n“Perv.” She said with a little snicker. “And I’m going to have to find out just how adventures you really are.” She said smiling as she kept idely playing with the pony’s butt. “Well I should scoot…..don’t want to keep that mother of your’s waiting.”\n\n“Yea… not in the mood she was in this morning. Jesus Christ on a stick… she hasn't been this stressed out in a long time,” Randy said seeming to suddenly get very serious. “I don’t think she’s freaked out that bad since I told her that I realized I wasn’t a girl and all that.” After a brief, but slightly awkward silence he leaned in and kissed his lover softly on the lips. “But anyway, yea you scoot off and go get to know my mom in a better mood than she was at breakfast. Morning soon came to the two snuggled into the large soft bed, the sun starting to shine through the window behind the bed, warming the two, even causing them to stir a little.  The merret snuggled tightly against her lover, nuzzled happily against his chest, letting out little squeaks in her sleep, tail wrapped around his leg.

Randy woke slowly, starting to stretch lazily and carefully so as not to disturb the merret girl snuggled up against him. He looked down at her beautiful face as she slept, the memories from the previous night flooding back into his mind. Hugging her a little tighter he lay his head over the top of hers, the clock on the nightstand coming into view. “Ah shit,” he mumbled softly. “Fucking hell.”

“Mmmmmh.”  May squeaked out as she heard her lover cursing, her eyes opening and looking up to him.  “Oh come one, sleeping in a little bit won't hurt.”  She said smiling and tugging at him.  “I mean this is a vacation ya’ know.”

“Yea,” the equine boy said with a little frown on his muzzle. “Except I was supposed to meet the family for breakfast this morning. Something about discussing the details of my brothers wedding or some shit. And I just know Shannon is going to give me shit. She’s so sure I lost the bet and she gets to keep my…. movie.” Giggling softly he added, “although I’m not sure what her interest is in Heidi does Boston… it’s not really even decent fap material, it’s only real saving grace is the really hot five way girl on girl orgy at the end.”

“The ending of it does sound pretty hot….we might have to watch it together some night.”  May said sitting up, the blanket falling from her chest, showing that she was still just as nude as ever.  “So hot stuff…..lets go show her just how wrong she is.”  The merrett said as she slipped out of the bed and started over to the night stand.  “You showed off to my dad, now it’s my turn to show off for your family.”

“Okay,” the horse boy said, his eyes following her lithe form as he admired her every curve. “Just…. I gotta warn you about his future in-laws. The girl he’s marrying… her mother is a little on the nutty side, and that aunt of hers…” he trailed off as he slipped from the bed and started getting dressed. “How do I put this…  the woman is more than a few bricks short. But, ummm… well shit, no easy way around this one. His soon to be wife… she’s a tiny, little bit… kind of young.”

“Oh it can’t be that bad.”  May said as she pulled a shirt on and started brushing her hair.  “I have put up with some of my father’s clients…..yeah….they are some weirdos.  So I can handle the crazy aunt.”  She said as she gave a quick pocket check to make sure she had everything.  “And as for kind of young…..how young...in comparison to your brother?”

Stuffing the bow tie into the jacket pocket of the tux he had worn last night Randy retrieve his phone.”Four years younger than he is, which isn’t too bad. Except that he’s seventeen… and by the time they actually tie the knot she barely going to be under the radar as far as the laws back home.” Looking to the phone in his paw a huge grin broke out on his face. “Okay, that makes me glad you’re joining me for this breakfast with the family thing.” Tapping at the screen of his phone for a few moments he added, “listen to this shit. Hey, Randy… see you’re late for the family meeting. Stop hiding out to prove a point loser. Come and take your lumps and get over it. I win and we both know it, love ya, your sister the winner.”

“Oh she sounds like a little bit of terrific.”  May said smiling and licking her lips.  “So hot stuff…..let's show her who really won this.”  She said taking his hand and pulling him close.  “I have a few tricks up my sleeves.  So lead the way.”


“So who are we waiting for….I’m hungry.”  Shanoa said with a little huff.  “I say that we just get started.”

“No….we have to wait….and Shanoa….behave.”  Chou said cutting a glance to her sister.  “Or do you want me to tell these nice people some of the stories of when you first moved to the states and how weird everything was for you.”

“You know, I could do the same to you.”  Shanoa said shaking her head a little.

“Alright you two.”  Hana said shaking her head a little.  “I will lock you in your rooms if I have to.”

“Sorry we’re late…” Randy said as he and the merret walked up to the table his soon to be extended family were seated around. “We overslept a little, guess we wore ourselves out more than we thought,” he continued with a smirk on his lips. “May, I present my family, such as they are. My mother Tabitha,” he said gesturing towards the older equine woman at the table. “My father Alexander, my older sister Shannon,” he said emphasising her name a little. “The older of my two younger brothers, and the one that’s getting married is over there, say hello Zeus,” he said pointing out his brother, “the pretty, and yet foolish little puppy beside him is Hana, his bride to be, and that one,” he finished with his family members, “ is my youngest brother Brian. The lovely raccoon dog is Hana’s mother Chou, and the catwolf hybrid is Hana’s aunt Shanoa. Everyone… this is May, my new girlfriend… and maybe in a little time more than that,” he ended wrapping his arm around the merret’s waist and pulling her against himself.

“Girlfriend… yea right,” Shannon said with a smirk on her lips. Looking to the merret she asked, “so how much is he paying you for this little production number?”

“Me getting paid for this…..I’m offended…..you make me sound like some girl from the corner of the street.”  May said shaking her head.  “He’s not paying me anything…..He, himself is all the payment I need.”  She said smiling and kissing him on the cheek.

“Well it looks like Dense got him some last night at least.”  Shanoa said smiling and snickering a little bit.

“Shanoa…..what did I just say?”  Hana said looking to her aunt and then to May.  “Pay her no mind….she’s been around chemicals to long, they fried her brain.”

“Na…..that’s what I have interns for.”

Leaning over and whispering to his lover Randy said, “and this I pretty much what I put up with every day. Like I said, they’re a little weird but I love ‘em.” As he stood upright again, guiding the merret towards the empty chair beside the younger raccoon dog girl he snagged an unoccupied chair from the next table over from where the group were seated.  After pulling out her chair and holding it until she was seated he sat the chair in his paw beside her and got settled in.

“Please excuse our families May… things are a little weird right now with this whole wedding thing and all,” the younger equine boy said.

“You met my family yesterday…..yeah….your family is pretty normal compared to some of the people that I have meet through dad.”  She said smiling and looking at the people around the table.  “It’s nice to meet you all.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you also May,” the older male said smiling warmly at the merret.

“Don’t let this bunch scare you off young lady,” Tabitha said shaking her head a little. “We’re usually a pretty sedate bunch, everyone is just a little worked up with the trip and all.”

“I kinda thought that it was something like that.  Being on a ship like this for the first few times will do that.”  She said smiling to the mother.  “I guess that I’m used to it with all the traveling that we do.”

“Wow…..looks like you lost that bet and then some.”  Shanoa said smiling.  “Ol’ Dense there got him a jet setting little hottie.”

“Yea, yea, yea,” Shannon said making a sour face at her brother. “Let’s say I buy this whole ‘girlfriend’ thing even a little bit, which I don’t. If studly wanna be there got him some...wasn’t it a little awkward when you noticed there was something… missing from the package deal?”

“I didn’t seem to notice that was anything was missing…..hell he has better equipment than anyone that I have meet.”  May said smiling and poking her tongue out.  “Trust me….he wasn’t missing a thing…..none of the times we….engaged one another.”  She said thinking of the best way to say it with the younger kid at the table.

“Waaaaaaaait.”  Shanoa said cocking an eyebrow.  “What is he like missing a nut or something like that?  That’s something that I can fix….I think that this ship has a morgue on it….they wouldn’t mind if one of them was missing something…..I think that they even have the thread and all that.”  She said trailing off, noticing the looks that she was getting.  “What?  I’m helping.”

Looking to the catwolf Randy spoke up in his own defense, “nothing like that… well kind of not like that. I’m transgendered Shanoa, female to male and preop.”

“Ahhhhh.”  She said looking at the male.  “I really wouldn’t have guessed.”  Shanoa said leaning back a little.  “You are a little soft looking, but then again I thought that you might have been a little fruity…..not that there is anything wrong with that.”

“Auntie…..Stop.”  Hana said shaking her head, Chou just snickering.  “I’m sorry about her you two…..She is a little off….ok a lot off.”

“She might come off as an ass, but she means well….most of the time.”  Chou spoke up smiling.

“I kinda want to see her and my dad talk…..that would be a meeting of the minds….enough talk of science and stuff like that to put the whole ship to sleep.”  May said with a little snicker of her own.

“Sooooo anyway,” Randy said turning to his older sister. “Like it or not big mouth, you lost this time. Take it like a man Shannon>’

“Fine,” the older equine girl said with a little huff. “It’ll be in your bedroom at home within  a day after we get there.

“Thanks sis,” he said with a little grin on his muzzle. “Though it's not that big of a deal, what is though is that I found a girl that I  think I may just decide to settle down with in a little bit of time.”

“Say what?” Shannon said as her eyes went wide as saucers. “Now you’re just being an ass aren’t you?”

“Shannon sweetie.  I have a lot better porn if you really want something better than that movie of his.”  Shanoa said with a snicker.

“He’s not being an ass.  He and I are serious about it.”  May said smiling warmly as she looked up to her lover.  “Between…..engagements and all that yesterday and last night, we got to talking about things and well…..yeah….we really see one another with each other well into the future.”  She said smiling and turning to the horse girl.  “Hell he even impressed my father.”

“I can understand where he’s coming from.” Zeus said leaning back in his chair. “I mean heck, look at Hana and I, all it took was getting my ass whooped by a puppy girl to figure things out. Once I got to know her just a little it was an easy decision to make to marry her, even though I’m sure most people will think I’ve lost my damn mind. I don’t care about that, all I do care about is being happy, and making her the happiest puppy in the world.”

“Awww that’s so cute.”  May said smiling, pausing for a moment.  “So….How did a little puppy like her kick your ass?”  She asked tilting her head a little bit.

“Ancient family secret.”  Shanoa chimed in.  “Well that and like all of our side of the family has been practicing some form of martial arts.”

“So like me and my muay thai.”  May said nodding a little bit.  “But yeah Zeus.  It’s like you said….you just kind of know that they are the one in a strange way…..even though merrett bait lost the fight on purpose.”

“IT got your attention, and gave me a shot to get to know you a little didn’t it?” the horse boy asked with a big grin. “Besides, I was distracted by… things.”

“Things…” Zeus said letting out a loud whinny, “you were busy checking out her ass weren’t you?”

“Mayyyyyyybbeeeeeeeeeee…” Randy said smiling and giggling softly. “Can you blame me? You see how beautiful she is… and the rear view is just as good.”

“Well….normally I have to do that thing with my tail to get someone to slip up and throw a match….but that works to.”  She said smiling as her tail started sliding up Randy’s leg, slowly making it’s way to a very naughty place.

Seeing her brother jump slightly, a deep blush coming to his ears shannon said, “so tell us Randy, a girl that's part ferret… is she as flexible as they say?”

“Ummm, what…” the equine boy said trying not to moan a little from his lover’s teasing. “Oh that, ummmm yes.”

“Lets just say that we brought new meaning to rolling in the sheets last night.”  May said smiling, her tail still teasing and tickling at her lover.

“So…..merrett….mouse, ferret….so...you're a squeaky slinky.”  Shanoa said looking her up and down.  “And I’m willing to bet that you two were the ones that were fucking on the deck below my room…..reenacting the scene from that horrible movie…..can’t I have peace on my deck at like two in the morning….peace and good saki.”

Scene from a movie?” Zeus said as his eyebrows shot up, “which one? I, ummmm might want to try that sometime.”

“Sorry Miss Shanoa,” Randy said blushing hard knowing they had been overheard by someone that knew him. “Not that I would do anything different, but I do apologize for disturbing you.”

“Well you know, I have these really good noise canceling headphones that you can borrow.”  May said with a sly grin.  “That should help, cause yeah…..the lovin isn’t going to stop.”

“No it’s not,” the equine said with a slightly harsh tone in his voice. Shoving his chair backwards he turned a little and put his paws on the merret’s waist pulling her closer and into his lap. “And screw this, I found a girl that will, and does accept me for who I. Yea, it may be sudden, or fast or whatever. But to be totally honest I think I may be in love so bite me. I have no idea where things are going between May and myself, but I sure as hell intend to find out.”

“You know.  I’m sure that I can talk the Priest into doing a two for one wedding.”  Shanoa said with a little snicker.  

“Oh my.”  May said as she was pulled into her lover’s lap.  “I…..I love you.”  She said as she wrapped her arms around her lover and held him tight, kissing him on the lips.  “It’s like I said….we might not know what's going to get in the way….but together we will slap Vinewrath.”

“Wait...you play?”  Shanoa asked tilting her head.  “I need to play with you….see if you're worthy of the boy there.”

Scowling across the table at her son and the catwolf Tabitha asked, “do I need to have you both locked in your rooms until we get to Japan? I mean for fucks sake this is supposed to be a vacation and a trip to marry off ONE son, not the whole fucking herd.”

“Mom?” Shannon said with a wide eyed gasp.

“Calm down honey, I’m sure that…” Alexander began before his mates steely glare silenced him.

“She started that,” Randy said nodding towards the catwolf as he stared into his lovers eyes deeply. “Besides, before we could consider marriage… there is something that still has to be done, and before you ask… it’s none of anyones damn business what that is.”

“Don’t worry Ms Tabbitha.  I wouldn’t dream of making this trip about anything other than Zeus’ wedding and that celebration.”  May said smiling and nodding to the mother pony.  “And we’re not going to jump off into things that fast….I mean you all still have to meet my family and all the insanity of that.”

“If it needs to be done than do it, when would be the best, and soonest time to make that happen.” the older female asked as she looked to the girl in her older sons lap. “Let’s get the insanity done and over with so there can be no more of it. And I swear to GOD if the rest of you don’t behave I will start throwing furs overboard myself.”

“Now Ms Tabitha.”  May said looking to the mother.  “I know that this has to be like the most stressful thing ever….so if you would.  I would love to take you on a spa day….at the fanciest place…..my treat.”  She said pausing for a moment.  “You know.  That way, me, you and maybe Shanona can get to know one another, and leave Randy to get the dinner date all set up.”

“That would be very nice, I accept your kind off young lady. But it will not change my mind, I want this insanity dealt with and over so I can try to focus on my son’s wedding and little else.” Glarng at the rest of her children and the catwolf she added, “and I do mean I will throw you all overboard if the foolishness does not stop… immediately.”

“Yes ma’am.”  Shanoa said nodding.  “I have my bag with me if you need to give her something to help her relax.”

“Like I said Ma’am.”  May said, interrupting Shanona before she could dig herself any deeper.  “This trip and all is all about Zeus’ and his wife to be….I’m sure that my family will end up taking the reigns on the wedding when that time comes.  So sit back and relax.”

“Alright,” Tabitha said finally seeming to relax, though just a little. “Now can we have a nice family meal and discuss Zeus and Hana’s wedding? Without anymore drama being drug into the mix?”

“That sounds lovely.”  Chou said, speaking up and smiling at everyone.  “I think that one of the first things that we need to talk about is, fitting for the kimonos and such, that sound good to you momma pony?”

“That sounds fine,’ the equine woman said seeming to relax just a bit more as the discussion at the table turned back to the matter at paw.

“Ok, the main thing with kemonos, is that, you're going to have kinda tight cloth around your chest and belly, so is that going to be a issue with anyone here?  Other than that, the fitting is going to be done at the manor when we get to Japan.” Chou said nodding and looking around the table

The comment catching the older boys attention suddenly Randy said, “at the what?”

“Yea, not sure I heard that right either,” Shannon said with a raised eyebrow. “Because it sure as hell sounded like she said at the manor.”

“The part about the cloth belt, or the manor?”  Chou asked tilting her head a little bit.  “That’s what it is, an old Japanese manor house.”

“Okay, but I still have no idea exactly what that means,” the elder horse boy said looking to his new lover then the raccoon dog woman confused.

“Um.  Is a manor something different here in the states?”  Chou asked.  “I mean all it is, is a big, kinda old house.”  She said shrugging a little.

“Daddy says that’s the kind of house snooty, rich jackasses with too much money live  in,” Brian chimed in from his seat beside Zeus.

“You don’t know how right you are little man.”  Shanoa said smiling.  “Bunch of rich old farts.”

“I guess that I should come clean now.”  Chou said shaking her head a little bit.  “Our family is one of the older, more well known families in the district.  That’s why I had said something about there might be a lot of people at the wedding.”

“Yea… that’s the part that still has me a little worried, “ Zeus said looking at the raccoon dog mother sideways. “Especially since you still haven’t really nailed down even a vague number when you say a lot.”

“I will try to keep it under….oh about a hundred…..”  Chou said looking up to the ceiling.  “Some of the town will want to come to it too.  I hope that’s not to bad or much to ask.”

“No… not really,” the groom to be said with a sigh of relief. “To be honest I was worried you were going to say some ungodly number… like five hundred of something.”

“I don’t think that father would let than many people show up.”  Chou said smiling.

“Na, mom would be the one that would want to do that, that crazy old wolf would want the whole town in on it…..week long party and all that.”  Shanoa said shaking her head a little.

“And you know, everyone says that you’re the one that favors her the most.”  Chou said smiling.

“You know that we are related right….you just take after dad, that wiley ol’ cat.”  Shanoa said looking at her sister.  

“Yeah, but I know how to handle my crazy.”  Chou said before turning back to the group.  “Ok….next is food.  Is anyone allergic to anything?”

“Nothing that we know of,” Tabitha said looking around the table at her offspring. “Nor is anyone a particularly picky eater.”

“Nope, and I’m kind of looking forward to trying some of the local specialities,” Randy said with an odd look on his face, his gaze traveling from the catwolf to the raccoon dog repeatedly. “Sooo… one question real quick,” the palomino boy said pausing for a moment “These kimono…. things that’s for the women right?”

“No, they are gender neutral more or less.  The cut and color of them make them more for more for one gender or the other.  I already told them what we needed, so no worry there.”  Chou said smiling.

“Ok Dense.  You have been cutting your eyes between me and Chou there for a minute….is there something that you need to say?  Or are you just trying to figure out whose chest is better, mine, Chou or Slinky there?”  Shanoa said looking to the boy with a cocked eyebrow.

“Well I…” he said trailing off an blushing furiously.”Shit… why am I the only one that seems to have caught on?” Shaking his head slowly he continued, “a catwolf hybrid from a cat and a wolf I get… but how is a raccoon dog even possible? “

“Well you see….when a man loves a woman…..sometime genetics are weird.”  Shanoa said with a snicker, looking at the horse boy, there was a sound of two palms hitting foreheads.

“Pay her no mind.”  Chou said shaking her head a little, turning to look at Randy.  “But to answer your question, I’m adopted.”  The raccoon dog said smiling.

“Tell them how you got adopted.”  Shanoa said smiling and nudging her sister.

“Bite me.”  Chou said shaking her head a little.  “I was caught breaking into the house to try and steal food and well one thing lead to another and I got taken into the family…..met this psycho...and the rest is history.”

“I didn’t mean to pry or anything, but…. okay enough horse face. So Kimonos are the dress code, makes things easier for me, not sure what to expect food wise, but I bet it will be… interesting at the least. So anything else we should know, besides there could be a huge crowd of furs there?”

“Raw fish and rice…...lots of rice…...so much so that it’s coming out of your ears.”  Shanoa said with a snicker.  “Though it is a lot of fish and rice, though in town there are fast food places and all that, so there is a lot to pick from.”  She said smiling a little bit.

“One thing I only now thought to ask,” Alexander chimed in. “I know that some faiths in the states have a portion of the ceremony where the parents give their consent and all that, I didn’t find a lot of what I would consider accurate information on traditional ceremonies in Hana’s native land. Could you ladies maybe walk us through the process a little by chance?”

“It’s a lot like a western wedding.”  Chou said nodding and smiling to the father.  “I or Shanoa will walk fluffy there down the aisle, and then you or your wife or both will do the same with Zeus.”  Chou said turning and looking down to Brain.  “And I think that you handsome little man, will make a cute little ring bearer.”

“Okay, then I think we should be on track with what to do,” the father horse said with a short nod.

“So is there like a rehearsal or anything like that?” Shannon asked looking to the older women at the table.

“Yes, that will be a few days before the real deal.”  Chou said nodding.  “So there isn’t too much to worry about.  Seating and stuff like that, then decoration and the like.  That will be the most work that I can foresee.”

“So other than showing up to get married what do Hana and I need to do momma Chou?” Zeus asked nuzzling against his girlfriend's neck softly.

“Well we have to dye her fur white for one.”  Shanoa said smiling and snickering a little.

“If you’re going to come up with your own vows, then that’s something for you two to work on during the trip.”  Chou said, paying no mind to her sister.

“Hmmm, Hana sweetheart… what do you think? Go with something more traditional or write our own vows?” the equine boy asked his lover softly.

“Well I was going to write my own.”  She said softly, smiling to her lover.  “Make it all the more for you and me and all that.”  Hana said kissing her soon to be husband on the cheek.

“Alright, then our own vows it is,” Zeus said kissing his bride to be on the cheek. Whispering in her ear he added, “and even more reason to stay in our room alone… nude… “

“If it’s more like a western wedding then I take it there will be a reception afterwards. Does that mean I get to see my brother make an ass of himself on the dance floor?” Shannon asked with a little giggle.

“I’m not that bad of a dancer Shannon,” Zeus replied with a huff. “Not like that guy you were dating last year. What was his name again….Scott?”

“He wasn’t…” she began to complain, pausing for a moment as she thought about the boy again. “Okay… I’ll give you that one. I mean for an ermine he had all the grace of a brick. Still, you and those hooves of yours don’t seem to be on the same planet most of the time.”

“We’ll see sis, we’ll see,” the equine boy said confidently.

“Don’t worry.  I will show the boys….and any of the rest of you that want to learn how, to really cut a rug.”  Shanoa said smiling and snickering a little.

“You know, I just thought about it.”  May said looking to her lover.  “Can you dance?  I know that would get you a lot more points with mom and dad.  They both love to dance.”

“Unlike fumble foot over there,” Randy replied nodding towards his younger brother, “I can more than hold my own on the dance floor. At one time I wanted to be a…” he said trailing off for a moment. “ Well… I wanted to be a professional dancer, let’s just leave it at that.”

“So you wanted to be the swan princess or something?”  Shanoa said snickering a little.  “You do have the body to cut a rug there.”

“Something like that,” the equine boy replied, his ears tinged a pale pink with blush.

“You know.  I might have a tutu some place…..”  Shanoa said giggling a little.

“I would tell you to kiss my ass Ms. Shanoa… but honestly I’m more than half afraid you would,” Randy responded with a little grin on his face.

“Well then, don’t be a wuss…..”  Shanoa said getting up and walking over to the boy.  “Cause I will do it.  Kiss ya right on the ass.”  She said giving him a quick little peck on the cheek.

“Kind of what I figured,” Randy said giggling a little. “But that is reserved for May, sorry.” Grinning broadly he added, “though I much prefer to kiss her ass… and other things.”

“Okay, so what else do we need to know about, not only about the wedding but about your native land as well?” Alexander asked leaning back in his seat.

“Good question,” Tabitha chimed in. “After all none of us have ever been to Japan… I would hate for one of my herd to get themselves in deep shit over doing something they shouldn’t without even knowing it.”

“Just be on your best behavior and all that.  Make sure that you don’t do anything disrespectful on temple grounds, you know, things like that.”  Chou said nodding softly.  “Bowing is important.  It is a big sign of respect, it’s nothing too hard, a lot of places are fine with you doing your best as you lot aren't from there...so yeah.”  She paused a moment, before Hana spoke up.

“Table manners are a little different.  You don’t tip….for anything….it’s really considered an insult.  Slurping noodles…..or food really, is ok, it shows that you like it.”  The younger pup said smiling and nodding.

“Shoes.  They are to be taken off in houses, buildings and many other places.  If it’s a business, then they have shoe racks and slippers for you.  And never ever step on a tatami mat.”  Shanoa spoke up.  “Any questions?”

“What is a tatami mat? I want to know if I’m about to screw up before I do,” Shannon said looking to the group of females. “I mean is it like a rug or a doormat or what?”

“Their a kind of mat that is used for sitting on.  It’s fairly soft and spongy.  Don’t worry you will know one when you see it….that and we will show you one before you have to worry about it.”  Hana said smiling as she pulled out her phone and keyed something into it before showing the table what a tatami mat looks like.

“Okay, now that I know what they look like I think I got it covered.

“You mentioning them though brings up another question,” Randy said leaning his head to the side a little. The whole tables and chairs thing… more western or more traditional in general? I mean, I need to get used to sitting on the floor right?”

“It all depends on the place really.”  Chou started.  “Like the mannor, a lot of the sitting that is going to be done there is going to be on the floor, but there are many food places that have tables and chairs.”

“Just wanted to ask, I looked a lot of things up before we left but you never know what’s accurate or what’s bullshit on the internet. Just trying to get an idea of what to really expect so maybe I can keep from making too big of a fool of myself,” the horse boy said looking around the table. “Anything else we need to know or is that about it?”

“I don’t think that there is anything else that you need to know.”  Chou said pausing to think to herself.  “Oh, and importing unaltered, adult material is illegal.”

“No problem, left all that at home,” Shannon said, her head suddenly jerking up quickly as she added, “I mean what?”

“Smooth move ex-lax,” Randy piped up. “Too late by the way… everyone heard you horse face.” Turning to look at his new lover the equine boy said, “when they get done here you need to go talk to your mother before you drag mine off for a spa day.”

“Don’t worry.”  May said smiling and kissing her lover on the cheek.  “I already texted her about it...she said she’s got this, she just want’s to have a little word with the both of us to tell us, just how to handle dad with this one.”

“As long as you’ve got it covered sweet cheeks,” he replied nipping at her neck softly.

“It sounds like we’ve about covered things here for now,” Tabitha said scowling at her older children a little. “At least as far as the ones not getting married goes. Okay, other than Hana and Zeus… make yourselves scarce for about a half an hour. I want to have a little talk with those two. After that May,” she added turning to look at the merret, “I would love to join you for that little diversion, I think I need a break from this shit before  I go batshit insane.”

“I don’t know.  I think that you’re showing a few signs now.”  Shanoa said getting up from the table.  “I know a good shrink.”  She said as nodded to the group as she started heading off, the others setting off to take care of things.

“Okay hot legs… what do we do to kill time and wait on mom?:” Randy asked as the pair got to their foot-paws.

“We go talk to my mom.”  May said smiling and leading her lover off to where her mother wanted to meet them.

“She may have a point mom,” Shannon said as she rose from the table. “Don’t get mad, but honestly I think you’re letting this get to you more than it should.”

“When you have children, and one of your son's falls for a girl and drags your family off to a foreign land to get married… then come and tell me how I’m letting things bother me too much,” the older female said glaring at her daughter.

“Don’t worry Ms. Tabitha.  We will handle all of the big details and all of that, you can just sit back and enjoy the time on the ship and all that.”  Hana said smiling to the mother pony.

“I’m trying Hana, but it’s hard to think of my boy getting married and leaving home,” the older woman said dropping her head into her paws.

“Mom.. it’s not like I’m moving to another planet or something. Hana and I will be at the cabin and you can come see us anytime. Though yumay want to call first so we can be… ummmm, well decent when you get there.

“We will make sure to come see you and visit and all that.”  Hana said smiling to the mother pony.  “And if you want to I will make sure that he calls you everyday.”

“Twice a week will be fine Hana,” the older female said with a soft smile. “And I’m sorry you two… I guess I am letting all this get to me more than it should.”

“It’s okay mom, Zeus said walking over and hugging his mother warmly. “I mean we did kind of bulldoze you with all this and it’s all happening pretty fast.”

“Yes… but that’s no reason to go on an all out freak out son,” Tabitha replied shaking her head a little. “Just try to bear with me, I’m sure I’ll be fine before we get to Japan.”

“Once you get used to being out on the water, things will get better.  You just have to get used to the rock of the boat and all that.  That and that spa day is going to do wonders for you.  Mud baths, manis and pedis, all that good stuff.”  Hana said smiling and walking over to the mother and her soon to be husband, joining in on the hug.

“I love ya mom, always have and always will,” Zeus said kissing his mother on the cheek.

“I know that,” the mother horse said turning to look her son in the eyes. “I also know that unless you’re truly an insufferable ass I’ll be number two on the list of women you love. That’s exactly as it should be, but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with.”

“You know.  I’m sure that there is some kind of Oedipus joke in there someplace, but I’m not channeling Shanoa for it.”  Chou said with a snicker.  “There are two kinds of number one woman in a man’s life.  The first is his mother, always his number one go to for all the things that he can’t or is too embarrassed to go to someone else for.  Then there is his number one lover…..Hana.  The one that he goes to for other things…..and still ends up going to his mother to ask things he is still too embarrassed to ask his wife….something like that.”

“True enough,” Alexander chimed in. “But I understand what she’s talking about. Mom has been his number one for everything up until now. Once he takes a bride she becomes his first love and first concern. That’s the part she is having a little trouble with, it’s normal but it bothers her that it bothers her.”

“I thought I was better prepared for this is all,” Tabitha said closing her eyes for a moment. When she opened them again she smiled alittle and said, “okay, enough of the mom freaking out for now. I have a spa day to go to, and you two have things to take care of I’m sure. Go on, go take care of your woman Zeus, and don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”

“Alright… if you say so mom,” the equine boy said glancing to his father, the older male nodding a little.




Knocking at the door to one of the other suits, the merrett called out.  “Hey mom….it’s us….let us in.”  May called out as she waited at the door with her lover.

“God I hope this goes well, I have to tell you, breaking this to her… and your dad has me as nervous as a feral cat with nine tails in a rocking chair factory,” the equine boy said his paws shaking just a little.

“Don’t worry.”  May said as the door swung open, the mother mouse standing there smiling at the two.

“Now what is it that is so important that you needed me to get your father and sister out of the room?”  Emile said as she invited the two in.

“Well we need to have a little talk, we have something to tell you and dad, and we thought that it was better to tell you first….you know how to handle dad.”  May said as she and Randy walked into the room, sitting down on the sofa.

“If you’re about to tell me that you’re knocked up now…..you have three seconds to start running.”  She said glaring at her daughter.

“God damn mom, it’s nothing like that.”  She said shaking her head….It’s way off from that.”  May said turning and looking at her lover.  “Do you want to tell her or do you want me to?”

“No, it’s my problem so it’s my place to do this,” the horse boy said looking from his lover to her mother. “It’s not anything like that, it’s about me personally ma’am. After the way dinner went… there is something you and her father need to know before things get any further out of paw, or before they go any further between May and myself.” Pausing and starting to wring his paws a little Randy looked to the floor for a moment before looking the mouse woman in the eyes and saying, “I’m… not exactly what you see before you, I’m transgender.”

“Ok.”  The mother mouse said cocking her head to the side a little.  “I know that it’s kind of a bombshell and all for you to tell me that….but I see nothing wrong with it….”  She said shrugging a little.

“See I told you that mom would be good with it.”  May said smiling and putting an arm around her lover.

“Dad is going to be a little iffy on the idea…..but some of his clients are trans….so he knows about them…..I think that the first thing out of his muzzle is going to be trying to sell you something…..damn salesman.”  She said with a giggle.  “But I will talk to him and soften it up for him and all…...and sweetie….as far as I care, you're not trans….you’re a fine, young man.”

“Thank you for understanding,” Randy said visibly relaxing a little. “Honestly, I’m not used to people not instantly judging me, or outright calling me a freak when they find out.”

“Na.  When you have studied the things that I have, you learn pretty quick that genetics…..well they fuck up and sometimes they do it in a big way or a weird way.”  She said smiling and reaching over the table and patting him on the knee.  “You know, the fact that you needed to tell us this, this quick, shows that you really do like Marie….and that is one of the biggest things for her father.”

“Yes ma’am,” he replied reaching over and taking the merret’s paw in his. “I do like her, more than maybe I should to be honest, but she’s just so amazingly beautiful. Not just her looks, her personality is more what draws me to her more and more.”

“I feel like you might have just called me ugly.”  May said turning and looking at her lover, keeping a stone face as she did.  “You know, it’s a good thing that my sister isn’t around to hear you say that.”  She said snickering a little.

“That’s not how I meant it and you know it,” the equine boy said cocking an eyebrow at the girl beside him. “You’re beautiful on the outside, hell even a blind man could see that. But you’re even more beautiful inside, you know who you are, and where you come from and you’re completely comfortable with it. You don’t let anything, and especially your family's status change you. That’s more rare than you may think and it’s rare to find a pretty girl that is happy with herself enough to be just a pretty girl and leave the attitude behind.”

She smiled as she pressed her lips to his, shutting him up for a moment before pulling back and snickering a little.  “It was a joke….now, do I need to help you get your boxers untwisted?”

“My boxers are just fine thank you,” Randy said smiling at his lover. Turning his attention back to her mother he continued. “But yes, we are getting along so well that I don’t want a surprise like this to just pop up and ruin things for us. I thought it better to tell you and her father now, avoid any… unpleasant ramifications later because of keeping it secret.”

“I know sweet lips.”  She said smiling and kissing him on the cheek.  “And like mom and I said, dad will prolly be fine with it.  I know that one thing out of his muzzle will be something about not having grandkids or something like that.”

“Well…” the equine boy said, a blush suddenly coloring the insides of his ears a deep pink. “That’s…. well that’s how I heard about that biotech company in the Denver I was telling you about before. It, ummm it seems they’ve come up with something that makes it possible.”

“Oh me.”  May said smiling and snickering a little.

“Not till you’re older”  Emile said shaking her head a little.  “And out of the house.”

“Love you too mom.”  The younger merrett said shaking her head.

“Well the gender reassignment surgery is going to happen within a year, and I haven't really decided if I want to go that far. It’s still experimental and there’s a chance that it won’t work,” the horse boy said looking from his lover to her mother again. “But if May and I get that far in our relationship, and it was something she wanted I would seriously consider all our options.”

“Well…...I’m sure that dad can help with the ‘other’ options.”  May said rolling her eyes a little.  “He either knows someone that can do it or his  company can do it.”

Cocking his head to the side a little Randy said, “you know… he mentioned being a businessman. But he never mentioned what business… exactly what is it your father does?”

“Synth Co.”  May said shaking her head a little.  “It’s a medical tech supply chain mostly, but they do some side research and stuff like that…...Stuff that will put an insomniac to sleep.”

“Well that explains the comments about him trying to sell me something,” Randy said with a snicker. “But he’d have to take that up with doctor Branderhouse. That part of it is totally out of my paws.”

“I don’t know.  That man can sell shit to the people that build outhouses.”  Emile said shaking her head a little bit.  “That’s kind of how we meet.”  

“That sounds… interesting,” Randy aid seeming to finally relax a little.

“Hehe, I meet him at the store that he was working at, and I was looking at something…..and well I didn’t plan on buying a new PC…..but he talked me into it….and into giving him, my phone number.”  She said pausing a moment.  “And then about a year later, Marie was conceived.”

“Moooooooom.”  The merrett said shaking her head.

“Hey, I didn’t go into the details…..and if I did it might give you two a few ideas.”  The mother said snickering a little.

“Moooooooom.”

With a huge grin spreading across his muzzle the equine boy chimed in, “this coming from the mother that just told us no kids until we’re older.”

“And mothering one oh one dictates that I say that.”  The mouse said smiling and poking her tongue out.  “But I would like grandkids at some point….so would your father.”  She said looking to her daughter.  “We just want you settled down and not traveling with us all the time you know?  Give the little, mouse, ferret, horse…..abominations a stable house.”

“Merrenines?” Randy said giggling a little

“That sounds like it would fit a wiggle pony.”  May said snickering.

“There’s the name right there.  Wiggle Ponies.”  Emile said giggling.

“Wiggle ponies… with a squeaky slinky for a mother… heaven help us,” the horse boy said shaking his head slowly.

It was about then that the door to the room opened and the father ferrett and youngest merrett walked through.  The little merrett sitting on her dad’s shoulders ducking through the door frame.  “Honey, we’re home.”

Looking to his lover Randy asked, “so ummm, are we about ready to go or what?”

“Yeah…...there is a spa day that we have to get to.”  She said smiling and getting up, looking to her mother, who gave them a little nod.

“Oh hello you two.  Stop by for a little visit?”  The father ferrett asked, smiling at the two.

“Hai dad.  We did, but we have to roll.  Sweet lips there and I have a spa date to get to.”  May said smiling

“May and Sweet lips sitting in the tree.”  Jenney sang, from her spot on her father’s shoulders.

“K-I-S-S-I-N-G.”  May sung back to her sister.  “And we did a lot of it.”  She said poking her tongue out at her sister.

“Ewwwwwwwww you have boy germs and cooties.”  She said with a giggle as the two turned and started out of the room.

“It’s okay short stuff,” Randy said as the pair drew closer to May’s father and sister. “One day in a few more years some little boy will give you boy germs and cooties too,” he said poking her playfully in the ribs a little as they walked by.

“Ewwwwwwww.  I don’t want cooties and boy germs.  I need a baff…..he touched me.”  She said giggling at the poke.

“You know…..that was a first.”  May said smiling and taking her lover’s hand in her’s.  “She’s warming up to you.”

“So is her sister,” the horse said pulling her close as they walked through the doorway and into the hallway. “Now if I can just have the same luck with a sexy merret’s father… things will be great.”

“I wouldn’t worry too much about it.  I’m sure that he is going to be fine with it.”  She said smiling and pressing herself to her lover.  “He might be a little weird about things, but even with this….mom’s got this….and if he has something to say about it….then yeah….I will put my paw down and pout at him.”

Grinning broadly the equine boy turned to look at his lover, “and that still works even at your age? That’s… kind of special.”

“I’m not that much older than you…..I think.”  She said with a little huff.  “And yes….pouting works oddly enough….I guess it’s cause I’m still daddy’s little princess or something like that.”

“Hmmm, pretty sure that makes you the first princess I’ve ever been with,” Randy said chuckling softly. “Okay your highness, I guess for now we have the telling the parents I’m tans thing kind of handled… so what’s on the agenda now?”

“Well there is the spa day with your mother.”  She said smiling and nuzzling up to her lover.  “You want to join us?  Get nice and pampered and all that?”

“Tempting, very tempting,” the horse male said nuzzling the merret in return. “But actually… I think while you have my mom occupied I’m going to hit the internet cafe and check out what I can find about that company back home. See what all they can actually offer in… upgrades and enhancements to the equipment.”

“Hehe I hope that they have those computers in a booth.”  She said with a little snicker.  “I mean I know that the people there are going to look at you a little strange when they look at your computer and see that you're looking at something like that.”  She said pausing for a moment.  “Or you could use one of my boxes.”  She said as she snuck in a butt touch.

“I think I’ll wait on using one of your ‘boxes’ until later sweet lips,” the equine replied turning the merret and wrapping her in his arms. “I can be adventurous, but I think that's just a bit over the line for public consumption. Besides, I’d much rather keep all this sexy to myself.”

“Perv.”  She said with a little snicker.  “And I’m going to have to find out just how adventures you really are.”  She said smiling as she kept idely playing with the pony’s butt.  “Well I should scoot…..don’t want to keep that mother of your’s waiting.”

“Yea… not in the mood she was in this morning. Jesus Christ on a stick… she hasn't been this stressed out in a long time,” Randy said seeming to suddenly get very serious. “I don’t think she’s freaked out that bad since I told her that I realized I wasn’t a girl and all that.” After a brief, but slightly awkward silence he leaned in and kissed his lover softly on the lips. “But anyway, yea you scoot off and go get to know my mom in a better mood than she was at breakfast. Normally she’s really kind of fun to be around.”

“Don’t worry…..I will make sure that she gets the whole nine yards with the spa day and all…..and that, that wolf….cat…..fluffy thing doesn’t interrupt it or anything.”  She said with a little snicker.  “See you later sweetie.”  She said as she started off down the hall to the spa were her and the mother pony were to meet.
