and me","writing":"\n\n“I’m sorry could you repeat that because I’m certain I must have heard you wrong,” Tina Bradley said to guidance counselor of her sons school. “Yes you heard me correctly, the girl is thirteen and pregnant so what is the issue?” Listening intently for several long moments as the person on the other end of the conversation spoke her face began to show a tinge of red beneath her fur. “I have been more than patient about this up until this point,” the older polecat female said tersely. “Would you mind telling me just what the fuck her being pregnant has to do with anything?” After another few moments she nearly screamed into the phone, “you’re fucking kidding me right? A liability… how the fuck is a pregnant teen a liability?”\n\nAfter a long pause as the other person spoke again, the expression on her face growing more agitated by the moment she said, “fine, then I’ll take care of that situation myself you dumbass,” slamming the reciever down hard. “Stupid sons of bitches.”\n\nHearing his mother’s outburst as he and Cat walked down the stairs Tommy whispered to his girlfriend, “I wonder who peed in mom’s wheaties.”\n\n“I don’t know…...I thought that she finally leveled out.” Cat said with a little snicker. “Hey mom, who peed in your cornflakes?” She asked poking her head around the corner, smiling at the mother polecat.\n\nTurning quickly and looking at the teens coming down the stairs tina grinned a little as she said, “the brain dead asshats that think that you are a liability for the school catherine. So I have decided to say fuck them, as of today you two will be home schooled. I’ll find you a tutor and they can all kiss my furry ass.”\n\n“Isn’t kissing your butt dad’s job?” Cat said with a giggle. “And I do have to say that I like the idea of being home schooled….then again school at all sounds neat.” She said nodding.\n\nGiggling at her foster daughters comments Tina ruffled the caracals hair a little. “Sounds like someone is doing better this week. That’s a good thing because we have an appointment with the OB/GYN today to have you checked to make sure everything is going well.”\n\n“The morning barf fest isn’t that bad….well at least it wasn’t for me….for Tommy….I think that might be a different story.” She said with a little giggle. “And we are ready when you are.”\n\n“God… the mornings suck,” Tommy croaked out. “Please tell me it’s normal for guys to get sick like this being around a pregnant girl?”\n\n“Not really normal son,” his mother said with a little giggle. “But it’s far from unheard of for the man to have sympathy morning sickness and pains along with his pregnant mate. Your father did when I was carrying you and your brother.”\n\n“Damn it, how long does this mess last again?” the polecat asked rubbing his forehead.\n\n“Oh not long, only about a month, or two, maybe three,” his mother said grabbing her keys from the table in the hallway. “Okay you two, let’s get going and get our special little lady checked out.”\n\n“Yes ma’am,” Tommy said taking the kittens hand and walking towards the front door.\n\nSoon the building of the OB/GYN came into view. It was clear that the place was small, looking almost like a family owned practice. The outside sporting a sign reading Jonestown OB GYN, a place around it for flowers to go, but it was the dead for the winter. \n\n“Well it looks like we are here.” Cat said looking out the window. “This kind of place still scares me.” She said softly, nuzzling up to Tommy.\n\n“I know Cat honey, but I’ll be right with you like always, and we both better get used to it for awhile right mom?” the polecat boy said looking to his mother as she parked the car.\n\n“Afraid so Catherine, you’ll be seeing this doctor at least once a month until you’re further along. Then the visits will be more often to make sure everything is going as it should and that you and the baby are both healthy.”\n\n“I can do this.” She said nodding and reaching over to open her door and get out of the car. “So what exactly is this doctor going to do to me?” She asked waiting for Tommy to get out of the car and walk up to her and the mother polecat\n\n“First visit will be a little more intense than the rest,” Tina said with a little smile. “She’ll ask you a bunch of questions about your general health and about how you’re feeling now. The only tough things will be the questions about the father, which we have no answers for, and about your current sexual activity.”\n\n“Wait, she’ll ask about me and Cat having sex and stuff like that?” Tommy asked, his eyes going a little wide.\n\n“Yes she will champ, and she’ll need to know if you two are having any sort of issues when you’re intimate,” his mother replied snickering slightly at the odd look on his face. “She needs to know if there are any problems when you and Catherine fuck, did you catch it that time son?”.\n\n“Yes mother I caught it that time, sheesh” the polecat boy said blushing a bright shade of red that showed in the lighter colored fur of his ears.\n\nA giggle came from the kitten as she took his hand and held it tight. “Someone learned something new.” She said nudging him. “And at least everything on that end has been normal and all that.” The caracal said as she, her lover and the mother walked into the office, the kitten looking around a little nervously.\n\n“Welcome.” A voice from across the room, a youngish looking calico cat said, standing up. “I take that you have an appointment.” She said picking up a clipboard and walking over to the group. “I’m Elisabeth, the OB/GYN.” The pale red and white furred calico said smiling warmly. \n\n“Yes we do,” Tina said, smiling a little as she took the clipboard and began to fill out the forms. “Today you’ll be seeing miss Catherine here,” she said pointing to the caracal girl beside her. “I called for an appointment the day before yesterday and as I was told to do mentioned that it had to do with something about whispers work or some such thing.”\n\n“Oh…...Oooooooh.” She said nodding and glancing around the room. “Follow me.” She said nodding and walking off, leading the group through a door, leading them deeper into the building, and to a small office. “Have a seat.” She said pointing to several chairs. “So I see that you all know Shanoa….and don’t worry, nothing leaves this room and all that.” The calico said sitting behind her desk.\n\nAs the trio took seats Tina looked to the calico, “I just want to make certain that there isn’t anything… odd going on here. Doctor Shanoa did explain that we… and they fully intend to keep the child?”\n\n“Well me and Shanoa go a long way back, the whispers work is a little code that we have to let one another know that this is something…..delicit.” Elisabeth said smiling and nodding. “It’s a reference from a game that she and I play….Guild Wars two.” She said smiling and leaning forward, resting her elbows on her desk. “But letting me know that their keeping the baby takes care of my first question. Is there anything that you want to ask me?”\n\n“Ummm, I don’t want to sound stupid or anything, but exactly what is OPGYM anyway?” the polecat boy said with an odd expression on his face.\n\n“Well. An OB/GYN is a special doctor that works with women, the OB part stands for Obstetrician, meaning that I have studied a lot to be able to help pregnant women with all the things that they have to go through, the swollen ankles, back pains, lactation, morning sickness and all that. The GYN part stands for gynecologist and means that I help women to ensure their reproductive health.” She said smiling softly. “That help you out Tommy?” She said with a little snicker.\n\n“Kind of… I think…. okay not really, but I guess I’m mostly along for the ride anyway so I’ll just hush up now,” Tommy said blushing a deep shade of red.\n\n“Don’t worry kid…..this job does this to boys.” She said with a snicker. “Mom, do you have any questions?”\n\n“I would assume then that a normal check up and pelvic exam are in order, and if all is well with that then these two,” she said indicating the teens seated beside her, “are in for a bit of lecture, and more information than either of them want to know about what they can expect over the next few months.” Pausing a moment to consider her further options in sharing information she locked eyes with the calico seated behind the desk. “There is something else that may, or may not prove relevant my son is not the father, but unless he has a major change of heart his intent is to be the father.”. \n\n“Well yeah….By the end of this I’m sure that their cheek fur will be red permanently.” She said with a snicker. “Ok, but do you know who the biological father is?” Elisabeth asked nodding. “That way we can check for genetic disorders and what not.”\n\n“No….I don’t…..” Cat spoke up, looking up to the doctor. “It was dark…..I really didn’t see much…..white fur mostly…..That’s all that I can remember.” She said looking down at the floor.\n\n“I know that it would make things easier if the family history and all of the father was known, but is it possible to check for the more common genetic problems without that information?” Tina asked with a concerned look. “After all Catherine’s and the babies health and well being is the most important thing to Jeffrey and myself.”\n\n“It is, knowing who the bio father is would make it easier….that and I’m sure that I would like to ask him a few things.” She said trailing off. “I don’t like loose ends.” Elisabeth said, pausing again. “So little mother, do you have anything that you want to ask?”\n\n“Ummmmm.” Cat said pausing and thinking for a moment. “Ca….can Tommy be there with me? And will it hurt? The tests that is.”\n\n“If…..If he want’s to….but like I said….it’s going to be a little on the embarrassing side.” The calico cat said with a little snicker. “And as for the tests some of them are just embarrassing, and some of them are unpleasant….and seeing as this is your first time….it’s going to be a little painful.” She said nodding.\n\n“I have to be honest ma’am,” the polecat boy said blushing a little. “I have no idea whatsoever what I’m getting myself into here. But I promised Cat I would be by her side every step of the way, and I mean to keep that promise. Besides, it’s not like I haven't seen her naked before… Ummmm, yeah I’ll go back to shutting up now,” he finished as the blush in his cheeks grew brighter.\n\n“Big momma, any last questions?” She asked with a little snicker. “If you don’t, then I will take these two off and get things going and all that.” Seeing that the mother didn’t have any questions the calico cat smiled as she got up and waved for the cubs to follow her. “You’re free to wait here….the tv works, or you can wait out in the waiting room.” She said before slipping out of the room, the couple following her.\n\nAfter the trio left the office Tina leaned over and started to look over some of the papers the doctor had left on the desk. After only a moment or two she sat back and softly said to herself, “no, the less you know about, the better. What you don’t know isn’t a lie.”\n\nLeading the group through the building and to an examination room. Once there she started explaining what was going to happen, walking them through each of the tests before she would go through them, making sure to warn them if something she was about to do was going to hurt or bother her. Most of the time the poor teens were blushing, Tommy holding Cat’s hand as she would blush and wiggle a little, even let out little whimpers and mewls. Thankfully for them, everything went smoothly and the tests were done in no time and they were led back to the office, where once there Elisabeth told them that she would be right back with the results, that she was handling everything herself.\n\n“Umm mom…” Tommy began looking to the door for a moment, “what’s all this whisper works stuff about?”\n\n“I have no idea son, and I think it’s better if we don;t. The only thing that I think is important where that is concerned is that whatever, or whoever is involved seems to have Catherines best interest at heart and as long as that is the case, I don’t wish to know any more,” the older polecat female said with a stern look on her face.\n\n“But mom…” Tommy began to whine a little, “if it involves Cat then I nedd….” \n\nCutting her son of mis sentence Tina whipped her head around to glare at him, “you need to learn when it is best to not stick your muzzle into things that might come back to haunt you young man\n\n“Don’t worry about it Tommy.” She said, the door creaking open, she started to say something but was cut off by the cat that walked into the room.\n\n“Yeah. It’s just a code for sensitive things…..you know, things that the media would make a freak show out of….so to speak.” Elisabeth said as she walking into the room and to her desk, with a folder in her hand. “Ok….I have good news.” She said smiling and opening the folder. “She is healthy, no bumps bruises or anything like that, and even better, the baby is fit as can be, everything is right on track.”\n\n“Thank GOD,” Tina said before she could stop herself. “I’m sorry Catherine,” she said turning to look at the caracal girl beside her. “It’s just that with you living on the streets I was quite worried about both you and the baby being malnourished or worse.”\n\n“Well….with her getting feed the way that she is now, she is going to be set and all.” Elisabeth said smiling. “It looks like everything is all set on this end, you can go home and get some rest and spoil the little momma.” She said closing the folder and offering it to Tina. “This has stuff in it that will help, but you have had kids, so you know most of it already.”\n\nTaking the folder she immediately passed it to her son. “Here you go daddy to be, I think you may want to read over that and learn a bit more about the mess you’ve jumped into.” As she sat back in her seat with a huge grin on her face she added, “you made the choice to be substitute daddy, so you’re going to be exactly that. Your father and I discussed it and while the two of you will be living in the house where we can keep an eye on you, everything else is on you son. You and Catherine want to keep this baby, you’re going to raise it together.” Pausing for a brief moment as she stood up she looked at the two teens and said, “now you two can head out to the car and wait, I need to have a word or two with doctor Elisabeth privately.”\n\n“Well it looks like you have something to tell me…..You go first.” Elisabeth said leaning back in her chair.\n\n“I just want to be clear about things when it comes to the girl,” Tina Bradley began. “MY husband, Tommy’s father works as a caseworker for CPS and had her checked out. She was listed as a missing run away. The very thought of a mostly sweet girl ending up in one of the mismanaged, poorly run slave houses they call an orphanage around here sickens me.” Folding her arms over her chest she continued, “her father was a victim of carelessness at the mine, her mother a victim of a system that does nothing to help those left behind by that tragedy. Catherine did, as much as it angers and upsets me to even think about it, did nothing more than what she had to in order to survive on her own. My son may be out of his mind in what he plans to do. BUt as his mother I am damn proud of him for stepping up and being a bigger man than the piece of shit that got that sweet little caracal girl pregnant. The only other thing I have to say is that if I ever find out who the little prick was, I’ll rip his throat out and laugh while he bleeds to death.” Nossing sharply she looked Elisabeth in the eyes and finished with, “and for some damn reason I feel that I can trust that this conversation never happened.”\n\n“Well…...that’s a given.” The cali said smiling, unphased by the mother. “Shanoa had told me all...well most of that. Like I said, Whispers work.” She said smiling. “Don’t let him bother you, he will get what's coming to him.” She said standing up. “What I’m going to tell you will only piss you off…..you’re not armed are you?”\n\n“Not today, Jeffery made sure I left any kind of weapons at home this morning...damn him,” Tina said with a tiny bit of a grin on her face.\n\n“Heh.” Elisabeth snickered. “I didn’t want to say it in front of the boy and girl….but yeah. During the examination I did find signs that she had been raped. And from the general time line that Shanoa told me, it fits with the bio father is the one that done it.” She said, her voice softening. “No real damage, but the signs were there….and I’m sure that Tommy wouldn’t have done anything to hurt her.”\n\nHer eyes narrowing to slits Tina said, “ I suspected as much from her description, but you have confirmed it. That is one male that had better never cross my path and me know it. As for Tommy… no he has not and would never hurt that girl, or any other. That is one thing I can be totally sure of, he was the one that insisted she go to to the ER when she woke up and was ill. He cares for her more than I would have ever expected with the short time they have known each other. His father and I will support them both in their decision, and will do what is needed to insure their safety and happiness, even if they don’t always think we do.”\n\n“A truly pure soul.” Elisabeth whispered. “Anyway. You go join the kids, go home and have fun, celebrate the love that is growing between them.” The cat said walking up to her and resting her hand on her shoulder. “And if you need anything, I and Shanoa are just a Whisper away.” She said leaning in and opening the office door.\n\n\nSCENE BREAK\n\n\n\nThe ride home seemed much shorter than the one to see the doctor, the entire trip Toomy and Cat were snuggled up together in the back seat. “Well I’m sure that between me and you we can handle everything and all that.”  Cat said smiling.  “And I’m sure that your mom wouldn’t mind teaching me to cook.”  She said leaning down and picking up the shirt and slipping into it.  “Now come on, I’m hungry...all this fun has got my appetite going.”

Slipping into his shirt Tommy snickered at his lovers comment. Walking over and taking her by the hand he said, “come on sweet lips, let’s go get you something to eat other than a cream horn.”

“Sounds good to me.”  She said as she rolled her eyes.  “And I can’t help it….Tommy’s cream horns are just so tasty.”  Cat said giggling a little.  “And from what I read in the folder, I’m going to be wanting some strange foods.”

Snickering a little Tommy started to gently pull his girlfriend towards the door as he said, “as long as it doesn’t get too weird… I guess I can handle that.”

“I will try to not be…..too demanding.”  Cat said snickering a little, before reaching out and taking her lover’s hand and starting to drag him to the kitchen.

“Well look at what the cat dragged in,” Mr. Bradley said as the caral came into the kitchen with her lover to tow behind her. “You’re mother’s taking it a little easy on you two tonight for clean up. She made spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread for dinner. So cleaning up the kitchen should go quickly and get you two back to your snuggling. Though if you want and can at least keep your clothes on, we are planning to watch Pacific Rim on pay per view tonight and you’re welcome to join us.”

“Thanks mom,” Tommy said as he pulled out his girlfriends chair and held it for her. “And the movie sounds good to me, what do you think Cat?”

“I think that would be new.  I have never watched that much TV or movies.”  She said nodding and sitting down at the table.  “And I’m sure that Tommy and I can keep our clothes on.”  She said nudging him.

“Yea, we can,” he said quickly when the caracal girl nudged him sharply. “Ummm, but knowing my hot girlfriend…. does a hand down the pants count as having your clothes on?”

“Only if your covered with a throw or blanket so it’s not just short of a peep show for your younger brother to get over excited about,” Tina said with a giggle.

“Okay then count us in for the movie,” Tommy said as a smirk came to his face. I’ll get that light blanket from my closet so Cat doesn’t get too hot while she’s snuggled up with me on the loveseat.”

Walking around the table and picking up his chair Jeffrey stopped him in his tracks as he asked, “and what are you doing young man?”

“Ummm taking my chair over there to sit by my girlfriend?” The polecat said questioningly. Narrowing his eyes a little as he stared at his father he added, “and to be honest it might be safer if I do, she does after all have two feet and I can think of a few places she might be tempted to stick them if I’m sitting across from her instead of right beside her.”

“Jees Tommy, you make me sound like I’m some horny teenager…..oh wait….we are.”  Cat said with a little snicker, rolling her eyes.  “Side’s I think that most of it is like all of your fault.”

Placing his chair next to hers and sitting in it the polecat boy looked at his lover a little wide eyed as he said, “My fault? How the hell is it my fault?”

“How is it not your fault?” the boys mother asked as she gave him the same look he had given the caracal. “She’s a woman, you’re a man, it’s always your fault and she’s always right. Isn’t that right Jeffrey?”

“Yes dear,” the older polecat male said not even looking at the woman at the other end of the table. Leaning over towards his son the man whispered, “lesson one, just agree and go with it, it’s safer that way.”

“It is if you ever plan to dip your wick in anything other than your own hand,” the mother polecat said without looking up from her plate.

“Well it looks like someone is in trouble.”  Cat said smiling and looking down at the plate of food that’s in front of her.  “Mmmmh this looks good.”  Cat said happily.  “You're going to have to teach me sometime.

“I can do that, and I have quite a few other recipes that I know Tommy likes as well Catherine,” the older female said with a grin. “And he’s not really in trouble… yet. But he will be if he doesn’t shut his muzzle.”

“YAY!   Sgetti…” Jason cried out with a huge grin as he rn into the kitchen from the hallway, the sound of the front door slamming echoing behind him.

“Hey champ,” his father said as the youngest of his kids climbed up into his chair. “I’ll go get him a plate Tina, you just sit and eat.”

“I fully planned to, his plate, silverware, and drink are on the counter beside the sink. I knew he would get home around dinner time so I set it out for him.,” tina said twirling her fork into the pile of steaming spaghetti on the plate before her.

The dinner went on pretty normally, or what the caracal could have guessed to be normal for the family.  Lots of talking and joking, good natured ribbing and things like that.  Dad making jokes, mom telling Cat about some of the more embarrassing moments that Tommy had when he was little.  Soon dinner came to a close and it was time for the family to slip off to the living room to watch that movie.

“Okay, so what are we doing for movie snacks?” Tommy asked as he wiped his hands on the dishtowel . “Cat and I will get them ready and bring them in with us.”

“Popcorn, chips, sodas, the usual,” his father said ruffling the younger polecat’s hair as he walked past him and into the family room. “and don’t be in there playing grab ass with Catherine or we’ll start the movie without you two.”
