This time an unlikely one. A Qunari. ^^\n\n\"Another day I stand guard. Watching the forest for a glint of Templar armor. Those within are like me. Mages. Yet they are not like me. I am Qunari. To any of my own who would see me I am but a SaaraBas. \"A Dangerous Thing\" Of course that description is accurate. I am dangerous. By my hand, blade, staff, or raw magic I have fell many a would be assailant. Templar and otherwise. Always in the service of protecting myself of others. Especially others. If the Templars come they will fall before me before I see them harm another. I try not to hate them. I don't always succeed. My parents were Tal-Vashoth. \"True Grey.\" Those who had left the Qun. They tried to settle. Tried to lead a life as others did. But their arrival on the short and settlement was misconstrued as an attack. Templars swept through the settlement to purge us before we would spread our \"lies\"If they had bothered with a moment's talk they would have known we had no intention of saying anything about the Qun. Had their commander been more merciful perhaps I would remember my parents. Their faces. Names maybe. The entire settlement was slaughtered save myself. A Templar woman came upon me. She took pitty and took me in. Raised me for a time as her son. She was so kind. Then I started to display Magic. She knew what would happen. She tried to hide it but our neighbors were Templars like her. Without any training I couldn't do much to hide it. Eventually I was discovered. I was sent to the Circle for training. Dragged there more like. I didn't want to go. Mom didn't want me to go. But she couldn't do anything. I cried myself to sleep the first night there. Mom visited when she could and tried to get a transfer to the Circle. But the Commander wouldn't have it. \"We can't show preferential treatment of a mage just because his...mother happens to be a Templar.\" I was outside the room listening in on that. I was so angry. It went on like that for years. I was a teenager by the time the old Commander died. Lyrium overdose. Mom finally got her transfer. Skip ahead a few years and the Circle was seething. Tensions were high. Fights broke out. A few apprentices resorted to a little blood magic and the new Knight Commander called for the Right of Annulment. He got it. Mom died while we tried to defend the younger apprentices being whisked away from the Circle. We succeeded. Got all of them out. And I got a bit of justice. Or is it revenge? Anyway I killed the Templar that killed mom. Frosted him over and then shattered him with the staff. Now I keep Mom's memory alive in what I do. I stand watch as she did. I am a Guardian for those like me. To any innocent mage at the mercy of a monster. Indeed even to any Templar who had the courage to stand up for his charges as Mother did. But to those who would so easily slaughter those they were meant to protect. I will descend upon them with primal might of magic. Frost, Fire, Lightening, and raw Magic itself. Fear me evil. Gado. SaaraBas.
