"description": "Phew. Once again the Liger procrastinates with his art and gets sucked into Deus Ex. But I have taken my nose out of it enough to take note of the Jeboa running around in ARK Evolved. Don't play the game myself but I've seen vids and well I found them adorable and well it sparked an idea so here we go. As always with new species there'll be a Codex Entry on the Species first and then followed by the story for the individual. And stay tuned for a little something more. ^^\n\nNative to the world of Jelana the Jebra are a mammalian species standing approximately 4 to 4.5 feet in height. Originating in the south easter part of the continent of Malast they are are quick moving hardy creatures with a keen sense of hearing. While not physically imposing the Jebra have used thier intellect and and numbers to survive the harsh conditions of their homeworld. Jebra are fairly communal with trade being a focal point of their species for millennia. Jebra nations were brought together over the course of two centuries thanks to progressive trade negotiations. Eventually old concepts of War fell away being viewed by those in authority as too costly for the little profit they generated. A sentiment held by the common Jebra as well who see profit as a means to an end and that ends can be varied. To some profit is a means to fund study of the heavens or the ancient past. To others it is a tool to uplift their fellow sapients. But most any Jebra will tell you that Profit left unused is profit wasted. This has lead the Jebra to make many advancements including achieving FTL flight and taking their place within the galactic community. Jebra can most typically be found as merchants or traders though it is not uncommon to see a Jebra simply out for an adventure or even in the service of the Galactic Rangers. One thing about the Jebra and their world that has become of note since their contact with the wider galaxy and subsequent contact with humans however is the discovery that they are linked. The history of life on Jelana only stretches bak 66 million years and the life in Jelana's fossil record of the time matches exactly that for life on Earth with genetic test proving this. Of course one look at the local Fauna would confirm this as Jelana is still buy and large a world ruled by dinosaurs as far as the animal kingdom is concerned. Though obviously things have changed in 66 million years. Mammals now have foothold in niches in certain regions of Jelana and boast the sole Sapient species of this planet. As to how life from Earth came to be seeded on Jelana so long ago the answer is unknown. With so much geologic time having elapsed it may forever be a mystery.\n\n\nDoskei grinned as they made their way out to the desert. Really it wasn't too bad a day out. He'd seen warmer. He could see the ruins off in the distance and closer by the withered weather worn skull of a Rex. Doskei couldn't make out what breed of Rex exactly. He just knew his uncle hated them. They could tear up livestock pretty quick and were always a nuisance at best. Stopping near the skull Doskei checked his spear again. It was a bit improvised but it worked rathr well. The tip could be replaced and was insulated from the rest of it and wrapped in part with wire. Doskei could press a button and the Speer tip would electrify. A quick jab or tap with it was usually enough to ward off any predator. Most Rexes wouldn't bother them anyway. Jebra tended to be too small and quick to really make a meal but today Doskei wasn't alone. He'd come out here with a human tourist. The human stood a good too feet taller than him and made him feel like a kit again.\n\n\"Damn Sedero. Do you ever slow up?\" The human panted wiping his brow walking over with a rifle slung over his shoulder.\n\n\"I told you call me Doskei. Jebra place the family name first and then given name. So I'm only referred to as Sedero in a formal situation. 'Mr. Sedero your little raptor's chewed my rug again!' that sort of thing.\" Doskei explained and gave a huff at the rifle. \"Oh and be careful with that. Sure it's nice to have out here just in case but inside the ruins not so much. You could accidentally bring it down on our heads.\"\n\n\"Will do. Sorry it just feels weird being on a world like this. It's like stepping back in time.\" The human said looking back at their vehicle which now rested in the sand though the dull hum indicated it's hover systems were still engaged just enough to prevent it sinking into the sand. It looked hardy and well loved with custom paint and decals of all sorts all over it. \"So any idea what we'll find in there?\"\n\n\"Well it's pretty old and we're way out by the mountains. Who knows. I've looked around enough to know it's from the 6th millennia but beyond that not much. Wanted us to discover whatever's in here together. Odds are it'll be long picked over by others but who knows.\" Doskei said with a grin as they finally proceeded forward again. It felt as though the ruins were pulling at him. Something deep within yearned to see it. To know it. Sometimes he thought he could almost hear it. These ruins calling him. The Desert Calling him. So he heeded that call as he always did. Adventure and a thirst for knowledge was in his blood. It was how he made a living and how he felt most alive. Going out and following the Desert's Call.\n\nWell hope you guys liked the pic and the lil story. ^^\n\nOh and as promised here's the lil extra. A Map of the Jelana! If your curious about where they are. Their still on the continent of Malast South of the rift sea between the two mountains to it's north.",
