The auditorium was filled with many people, mainly friends and family of all the officers and staff that were up for award. Miyu noticed earlier that her and Leo's parents were sitting side by side out in the audience near the front. There were also many members of the press with cameras of all types and sizes being set up to record and broadcast the event. \n\tLeo stared at the internal television monitors looking out toward the audience from the waiting room in awe. There must have been hundreds in the auditorium to witness this event, whatever all was going on. Nobody knew for sure as to who was being awarded with what, but General Pepper required it and everybody, in THIS group at least, loved and trusted their commander-in-chief. “Woooow, so many people...” Leo said, looking surprised and a tad bit nervous. \n\tFalco smiled as he stood right by Leo as they all looked at the monitors. “Hehe Never been in front of the camera before?” he asked Leo with a grin.\n\t“Well... I was on the news a couple times in my youth more than half a lifetime ago for some things of little import, but... this event blows that all away!” Leo said, blushing a bit with as much a confident smile he could.\n\tFalco chuckled and patted Leo's shoulder softly. “Not a thing to worry about. The ceremony is very simple. Fox is going to lead us all out in a line on the stage, you just follow whoever is in front of you, stand tall, look forward, turn to face the crowd, then just stand at attention the whole time,” Falco explained. “You'll do just fine, guy.”\n\t“Th-thanks, Falco,” Leo said and nodded with a smile. \n\tMiyu stood behind Leo and hugged him gently from behind, softly kissing his cheek as she hugged him comfortingly. “Meep,” she said softly.\n\t“That's my line,” he said with a smile.\n\tMiyu giggled and squeezed him around the middle softly and lovingly. “Heehee... I knoooooow,” she said. “How're you feeling, hon?”\n\t“Good... and nervous... all of the above...” Leo replied, his face unable to get rid of his blush. \n\t“Things'll go fine, cutie,” she said, releasing her arms and turning him around softly to kiss his lips. “All you need to do is follow Krystal and face the same direction as all of us the whole time,” she explained. “Oh, and when you receive your award, whatever it shall be, stand tall and proud, because the General himself will be pinning it to your shirt. He may engage in short conversation while he does so, and if he does, just salute and give a 'Thank you, General” in reply,” she said.\n\t“O-okay,” he said smiling. “I'm so glad you're here with me. I dunno what I'd do if I was by myself.”\n\t“Hehehe Not used to being the center of attention, huh?” she said smiling, her hands holding his softly.\n\t“Not really,” he said. “I mean, I was in a couple of school plays, and was on the local news a couple times over some events in the past, but that's it,” he said.\n\t“That's still a lot more than most folks do,” she said, leaning in to rub her nose against his softly, her lovely eyes gazing into his sweetly.\n\tThe Sargent-At-Arms then came into the room and announced it was almost time for them to walk out on the stage, the Star Fox team members all falling in line, starting with Fox, then Falco, Peppy, Slippy, Amanda, Krystal, Leo, Miyu, Fay, Fara and Bill at the end. Miyu couldn't help but stare at her lover's bubbly bunny butt for a brief moment as she stood behind him, licking her lips and purring deeply in joy at the sight she never got tired of, her nubtail wagging happily behind her. \n\tFanfare began to play as they all walked out in line formation onto the stage, Fox reaching the end of the stage and then stopping, softly turning to his right to face the audience, the remaining people in the line almost immediately following suit, a loud round of applause as everyone recognized the Star Fox team, always a hit with the crowds. They were then brought to attention by General Pepper walking onto the stage, the 11 members in line turning to face Pepper, giving a proper salute as he walked aboard, the tall hound dog smiling and giving a hearty happy salute in return. He then turned to speak into the microphone at his podium and spoke to the crowd.\n\t“If I may ask that all stand and give salute to our Lylatian flag and recite our global Pledge Of Allegiance,” he said, the audience all standing and giving proper salute if they were or are servicemen, all others putting their hand over their hearts and recited their pledge. Once over, the General turned to his microphone, all of the team turning back to face the crowd at attention. “As you know, it is our proud privilege to award our servicemen and women when the opportunity arises, and since just before the end of the war, a lot has happened that begs to be recognized. This gathering here today is to honor these brave men and women before you that we are all incredibly happy to have fight for us, for Lylat and for our future.”\n\tA round of long applause erupted from the room for several seconds before calming down, General Pepper continuing his speech. “Of course we all know our brave members of the Star Fox Team...” another round of applause from everyone at the mentioning of that well-recognized name. “It is their efforts along with the many brave and valiant men and women that have fought in this war that have brought this war against the evil Doctor Andross to an end. It is with this, that I award Captain Fox McCloud, Lieutenant Falco Lombardi, Admiral Peppy Hare, Lieutenant Slippy Toad, Captain Amanda Toad, Lieutenant Krystal Fox, Lieutenant Miyu Lynx, Lieutenant Fay Spaniel, Captain Fara Phoenix and Captain Bill Grey... the Cornerian Bronze Star Medal.”\n\tLoud applause arose from the audience as General Pepper then walked before everyone except Leo to pin their medals to their uniforms, each of the members giving a smile and healthy salute to General Pepper, the happy hound dog all smiles and giving short pleasant chatter while he was before them. Pepper then walked back to his podium and continued his speech.\n\t“But all while the war and destruction have ended, the many hundreds of thousands of lives that have been harmed and damaged by this war have remained. We have took it on our duty to care for all the refugees of this war to give them support and a helping hand to get their lives back together, to be able to have a place to call home while they rebuild and gather their strength to continue on in life. In this matter, it would not be possible for a great number of these citizens of Lylat to have the spirit, the courage and the strength to carry on as they are now without some of the most amazing staff in our health care industry. I hereby award, to Captain Amanda Toad and to Lieutenant Krystal Fox... the Cornerian Humanitarian Medal.” More applause as General Pepper then walked before Amanda and Krystal to pin their medals to their uniforms, each of them giving happy smiles and salutes to General Pepper as they received their award. He then returned once again to his podium.\n\t“While a healthy reprieve and resuscitation to life have helped out a great number of people, many of them have lost their homes, near and abroad, all over the Lylat system. Corneria took it upon itself to house the refugees of this war to give them a place to live and to rebuild their lives, in the hope of coming back to a normal live with neighbors who care and support them. Our very own Star Fox team as well as our own conscription service has yielded a pair of very smart and very quick thinking individuals that have literally created new cities in a matter of days, making it all possible for this all to happen. I therefore award, the Cornerian Meritorious Service Award Medal to Lieutenant Miyu Lynx and the Cornerian Meritorious Civilian Service Award Medal to Captain Leonidas Cuttridge, for their expertise in zoning and planing that helped us make the new cities that we know and are proud to support.”\n\tMiyu and Leo smiled as they watched their parents stand and applaud as General Pepper approached them, pinning the medals to their uniforms and giving a hearty salute. Once Pepper stood before Leo, the tall hound dog smiled and spoke with a proud and happy voice that everyone knew him for. “Many thanks to you especially for your designs, Captain Cuttridge. I don't know where we would be right now in postwar without your ideas along with Lieutenant Lynx's knowledge. You two have really helped out many more lives than you know. Corneria is incredibly proud of you both!” he said. Each of them smiled and saluted General Pepper properly. “Thank you so very much, General,” Miyu said.\n\t“It was a great pleasure to be of service for my people and my planets, General,” Leo said.\n\t“It was a mighty fine job, both of you,” General Pepper said with a boisterous voice and a smile. He then walked back to the podium and continued his speech. “And finally... we have two more awards to give out this morning... one that I am incredibly proud to give. Our rebuilding efforts have not been viewed positively by some that still show sympathy and support for Venom and Andross, as we have recently discovered in a mission to our desert planet of Papetoon. We have discovered there are still those who wish us harm in our efforts to rebuild and help out whoever wishes to lead a life of peace and harmony, no matter where they live in our Lylat system. Two of our servicemen recently have suffered injuries in the line of fire, and thankfully they are with us still to this day. I also award the Cornerian Purple Heart to Lieutenant Miyu Lynx and Captain Leonidas Cuttridge.” A brief applause occurred while General Pepper remained standing at his podium. “But that is not the entire story... for one of our servicemen saw it necessary to put himself in the line of danger, putting great risk to his life to do his best to protect not only his own fellow men and women that stood with him in danger, but to many other civilian lives potentially at risk as well. I therefore award... Captain Leonidas Cuttridge... the Cornerian Air Force Civilian Award for Valor Medal; one of the highest medals a conscripted officer can earn!”\n\tHuge applause for many moments as Leo stood dazed and amazed by the words he just heard, his mind trying to make sense of all that had happened to him in the last year or so... living in a shitty apartment in the slums of Corneria City, getting a job in the Cornerian Military using his degree in surveying and planning which he thought he'd rarely use... and found not only some of the best friends and workers he'd ever met in his life... but he found a lovely woman that not only loved him for what he was, but he loved her so much for what she was, and neither one of them wanted it any other way; and she stood right by his side in this moment of glory and bliss, he standing by her side as she was also awarded for her efforts as well.\n\tGeneral Pepper gave Miyu her Purple Heart medal, the two smiling and saluting happily together, then Pepper stood happily in front of Leo, pinning his Purple Heart and Medal of Valor to his uniform, the applause seeming to get louder at the latter. “You're a brave soul, Captain. Definitely one worth following an example of. We're all watching your efforts, so make us all proud,” Pepper said happily and proudly, giving Leo a salute. \n\tLeo smiled, tears streaking down his cheeks, giving General Pepper a proper salute. “I will do that. Thank you for the opportunity, General,” he said.\n\t\n\t--After-Awards Ceremony, 12:41--\n\n\tThe reception room was packed with many people after the ceremony for members and their families to greet them and hang out with drinks and foods available. There was even a photographer there to take pictures for anyone that wanted one, and Miyu insisted she get many pics of multitudes of variations with her, Leo and their parents. The Lynx's and Cuttridge's were also introduced to all the other members of the Star Fox team, Rob Cuttridge sharing Air Force stories and comparisons with everyone for a while as Lawrence Lynx seemed very pleased and a bit giddy to meet everyone. \n\tEveryone sat around and chatted with everyone for a good hour or so more, Miyu and Leo's parents sitting on either side of them, knowing they knew how to take care of themselves quite well, but still had that feeling of uneasiness knowing they could be sent anywhere anytime and for an unknown length of stay. Lawrence and Patricia were quite used to Miyu being dispatched in that manner for years, but Rob and Judy were still trying to adapt to the same feelings with Leo, and struggling just a tiny bit knowing this was Leo's second time going somewhere, and his first time coming back and being immediately hospitalized. The Cuttridge's definitely took comfort in being with the Lynx's in these times to make the time easier, knowing that rekindling their old friendship was definitely a huge help.\n\tAfter a little over an hour and a half of sipping water and sodas and having some small appetizers, it was 14:17. \n\t“So what're your plans during your two weeks of R&R, Leo?” his mother asked him.\n\t“Honestly mom... I plan on sleeping a lot of it away,” he said with a sigh.\n\tMiyu grinned and gave Leo a smooch on the cheek and a squeeze to his butt, making him squeak adorably and jump a little. “Hehe... not if I have anything to say about it, love,” Miyu said. This made their parents all laugh out loud, even illiciting a “go get him, kitten!” from her dad. “But seriously, some time down the line, we need to get another cookout going,” Miyu added with a smile.\n\t“Could even do it out our place this time, if ya like, Lawrence?” Rob suggested.\n\t“I don't mind taking turns, sure Rob,” Lawrence replied, Judy and Patricia smiling and nodding in agreement. \n\tThe Cuttridge's and Lynx's all gave their final goodbyes, hugs and kisses to Leo and Miyu, giving many handshakes and hugs to all the members of Star Fox and headed out. Leo inhaled deeply and sighed out softly and slowly, Miyu hugging him from the side and smooching his cheek softly. “Besides... we all have a bed to break in, remember?” she said in a sultry tone, making the bunny smile and go blushy in the face, his spade tail wagging happily at the thought.\n\t“Eeeee... I love the thought of that... I just hope I.. umm...” he started.\n\t“Hmm?” she asked and nosed his cheek softly, her hands moving to rub over his belly and lower back slowly in circles.\n\t“I hope that I can perform for all of you, is all,” he said. \n\t“I think Krystal may be able to help you with that tonight, if not... possibly forever,” Miyu said softly. “We'll just take it one step at a time. No rushing. Just go with your feelings, sweetiebun,” she said softly and soothingly into his ear. “And by the way...” she started, reaching into her pocket with a shopping list and her payment card. “Why don't you head to the liquor store and get everything on here before you head home and me and the girls will meet you there?” \n\t“Ooh, okay!” Leo said, giving Miyu a tight hug, Miyu responding by leaning back and lifting Leo up off his feet nearly a foot. “Mmmmmmmm mine,” he said sweetly.\n\t“Yours,” she replied with a smile, their hearts beating happily and quickly as they held each other. Miyu then got out her phone and sent out a message...\n\n\t[q]Miyu Lynx: Bun is on his way to the liquor store! Report to my apartment pronto![/q]\n\n\t--Miyu's Apartment, Corneria Air Force Base, 15:02--\n\n\tMiyu changed out of her uniform at the Presidential Tower right after the reception and ran home onto the base to her apartment. She really enjoyed the sensation of the long 2-mile jog that she hadn't been able to partake in for the last few weeks since they were dispatched to Papetoon. It felt incredible to get out and get active again for the first time since getting out of the hospital. She knew that Amanda told her and Leo to take it easy for the next week, but she was feeling way too cooped up and eager to get out and get back to life. \n\tThe other girls all headed out to grab some snacks, videos, games and other such items for their slumber party night. Miyu had only been home for a few minutes before she heard the doorbell ring. She went to the door to open it, seeing Fara, Fay, Katt and Krystal smiling and waving. “Hey girls, come on in,” Miyu said with a smile, inviting the girls in.\n\t“Oh wow, this is gorgeous inside, Miyu,” Fara said, putting a bag of grocery snacks on the kitchen counter. “This is my first time in here, I think.”\n\t“Me too,” Katt said, placing games and video discs on the living room coffee table. “The rustic cabin look is definitely fitting for you, Miyu.”\n\t“I totally agree,” Miyu said. “This is similar to what my dad built for houses for most of his life in the forestry and carpentry trade before he retired.”\n\t“Makes sense to me,” Fara said smiling and nodding.\n\tKrystal smiled and moved to put her staff in her holster in the entryway closet for later, giving Miyu a wink and a smile as if to suggest she had her own plans for everyone for the night. Miyu grinned and slowly nodded in approval as the other girls unpacked the shopping bags of snacks. Fay sorted everything out neatly on the counter top to make it all easy to access. “So we got chips, dip, pretzels, cheezy poofs, chocolate bars, popcorn and a whole buncha soda for mixed drinks,” Fay announced. \n\t“For a game, I brought Cards Against Animal Decency, always a joy, and for movies I brought the Arwing! series of movies along with some discs of some of my favorite episodes of MythSmackers!” Fara said happily.\n\t“Damn good game, damn good movies and shows, Fara,” Katt replied, giving her a high five.\n\t“Good,” Miyu said. “Bunny will be coming soon with the boozamahol for everyone.
