Some time passes by, Laurel keeping her butt parked on the living room couch and continuing to laugh at much of the slapstick, and eventually, at the end of another segment, a ding from her phone gets her excited, the fire rabbit quickly grabbing it and reading the text. To her delight, it was Sunny.

"Yo, Laurel! Just showered. Snacks are packed. Where you wanna meet?"

After reading it, Laurel quickly typed a response.

"The message i've been waiting for all morning lol. About to get dressed...how about over by the park? Look for me next to the entrance sign."

After sending it, Laurel turns the TV off and runs upstairs, going to use the bathroom first thing. As she empties her bladder, she thinks some more about the pull-ups from the commercial...and decides now wouldn't be the best time to tell dad. Instead, she'd figure out a way to get a pack during her time with Sunny, whether she sneaks off to another store or asks Sunny about it.

With that settled, she finishes peeing and flushes the toilet, returning to her bedroom after washing her hands to pick out an outfit, which doesn't take long for her to decide: Pink bows on both of her ears, a black crewneck shirt with a print of Keldeo on a surfboard riding a wave, a pair of red shorts with a vertical Flamethrower decal on each side, and red velcro shoes with saffron straps and soles.

After looking in her mirror and complimenting herself, Laurel puts her phone in a shorts pocket and gets her backpack out, putting her allowance and a few things around her room inside it before heading back downstairs to the kitchen to grab some snacks, filling a 32-ounce water bottle while at it.

During this, Gold comes to the kitchen for a Cosmic Brownie, and he greets Laurel, who quickly informs him that she's ready to go. In response, the bigger Victini pats her head and tells her to have fun, reminding her to be careful around strangers, not to go too deep into the woods a few miles away, and if she wasn't home when the streetlights were on, she'd be in trouble. Laurel assures her dad that she'll follow the rules, and after they exchange goodbyes, she heads out the front door to her bike, and hops on, waiting for a Luxio on a skateboard to pass by before pedaling off to the park, looking forward to the day ahead with Sunny.
