Prologue Somewhere in Dendemille Town, Kalos, resides a young man in his early 20s named Matt, who lives in a small traditional house wooden house on the eastern outskirts, along with his companion - a male Braixen, who's a bit of a big child in some aspects, and the two of them have been very close to one another since Matt got him from the lab. He confided in his trainer his deepest secrets, most that he wouldn't even tell his own parents if he had gotten to known them, and while he wasn't a big fan of crying in front of others, he made an exception with Matt. Today, for the most part, had been a typical one for them like most days - Braixen had played out in the yard some that morning, the two of them went down to Lumiose City to run some errands and even got takeout for lunch, and for most of the afternoon, while Matt was in his home office getting some work-related matters taken care of, Braixen was either watching cartoons on TV, or playing with some of his plushies. However, tonight was going to be a different story. How so? Well, Dendemille Town had been placed under a slight risk of severe weather, with a decent chance of thunderstorms to occur sometime during the overnight hours. In addition to heavy rains and plenty of lightning, these storms could potentially have damaging winds, which could be up to 70 miles per hour, and some large hail no bigger than ping pong ball size. However, on the bright side, no tornadoes were forecast. Now, there isn't a whole lot that scares Braixen, but thunder and lightning, and especially hail storms, get to him rather badly. And on nights where there's a chance they'll both be woken up by a thunderstorm, the fire fox is put into overnight pull-ups at bedtime as a just in case precaution. It really doesn't help that the bathroom closest to his bed has a big bay window right next to the toilet, resulting in him having to risk being blinded by a somewhat gorgeous lights show on multiple occasions in order to make it in time. But more than often than not, he ends up choosing to wet himself. And while it doesn't really embarrass Braixen like it used to as a Fennekin, he really wishes that one day soon, definitely before evolution, that he can go multiple stormy nights without ending up wetting his pull-ups, and eventually, be out of them on stormy nights altogether. Will tonight be a start? Well, we'll have to find out. At around 9:30 that night, Matt comes to his companion's room to let him know that it's time for bed, and tells him to turn off his TV. Braixen does so, and after going ahead and using the toilet, is changed into a Mickey Pichu-themed pull-up, and some Flareon-themed pajamas. They say their good nights to one another, and Braixen is fast asleep ten to fifteen minutes later, his trainer turning in for the night about half an hour after that. For the next few hours, Braixen's sleep is rather peaceful, occasionally rolling on his side during the night, and sleeptalking. That is, until... Part 1 Around 1:30 that night, when Braixen ends up having a nightmare, and awakens in a cold sweat after a few minutes, letting out a yelp. Trembling some, he catches his breath, and once he does, is relieved to see that he is still in his bedroom. However, that relief won't last very long, as a sudden rumble of thunder elicits another yelp from the fire fox. Great...of all times he could have had a nightmare, why right before a storm? He then feels a sudden pressure in his bladder, and quickly puts his paws to the front of his pull-up. He has to pee as well...and pretty bad. "Not tonight, Braixen..." he says to himself, then grabbing his iPhone off the nightstand just to check and see how bad the storm is. He notices that there is already a notification from ten minutes ago, coming from the weather application that Matt had installed. A few drops of rain are beginning to hit the roof as he does this. "Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect until 2:15 AM KLDT for Dendemille Town, Frost Cavern, Eastern Route 15, Eastern Route 16, Lost Hotel and Western Route 17. This storm is capable of producing hail up to the size of ping pong balls, and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. Movement was to the east at 15 mph. Torrential rainfall and frequent cloud to ground lightning are also likely." Braixen lets out a gulp. This was going to be a bad storm...and it was going to take its sweet time getting through there, too. A bright flash lighting up the room sends Braixen jumping up out of bed onto the floor, letting out a few drops into the pull-up in the process. Okay, so he won't be entirely dry, but if he can minimize how wet the pull-up gets, that will be a victory. After a loud crack of thunder which shakes the house a bit, he then gets up, putting a paw to his pull-up, and slowly walks over to his bedroom door, trying not to fidget. Once he gets it open, heavy rain begins to pound the roof... Part 2 ...and the sound of it quickly reaches poor Braixen's ears, which in turn, causes the pressure in his bladder to increase a bit more! He lets out another two drops into the pull-up...still no visible indication, luckily, but this is definitely a potty emergency. And the worst one that he's had to deal with in a long, long time. Just as he's about to start walking down the hall, the nightlight across from the bathroom, and the one in his room, then both go out, and the sound of various things in the house powering off is heard. This frightens the fire fox, and he instinctively puts his paws up to his ears to cover them, expecting a mighty loud boom of thunder...as he does this, he feels another sharp pang in his bladder, making him fidget in place. After a few seconds without anything particularly loud, Braixen lowers his paws, and sighs, the rain continuing to pound the roof. (A-Arceus d-damn it.) he uttered in a shaky tone, not liking how dark the house was one bit. (D-damn wind m-must've blown down a t-tree somewhere. Oh, man...) Another sharp pang quickly reminded the fire fox that the loss of power wasn't the biggest issue at the moment, and he came to the realization, that if he wanted to go the rest of the night mostly dry, he had to run to the bathroom, and risk slipping on the wooden floor. Braixen then remembered that his phone has a flashlight...so even with the huge amount of pressure in his bladder, he heads back over to the bedside table, another couple of rumbles of thunder be damned, and picks it up. Much to his chagrin, he finds that the phone has only 9% battery left. (A-are you k-kidding me?) he groans. (I k-knew forgetting the c-charge this t-thing would b-bite me in the b-butt one of these days...) Even so, he did have to remember...even with the very low battery, the flashlight would still work. But he'd have to make it fast before the phone died. Not wanting to waste this opportunity, Braixen is quick to get the flashlight on, and once he's walked back around his bed, begins to make a run for it, out of his room, and making a left down the hall...a faint banging noise then begins to accompany the pounding rain, gradually growing louder. The fire fox didn't even have to ask, he knew what that sound was - it was the hail that was expected with the storm they were dealing with. Another loud clap of thunder elicits another yelp from the fire fox, and just as he's about to make it to the bathroom door...he begins to lose his balance! Not wanting this to be what stops him from going dry, Braixen quickly tries to reach out for something he can grab ahold of, even at the risk of damaging his phone...will he get lucky? Part 3 Thinking quick on his feet, he notices a table over to his left, and just as he's about to fall to the floor, manages to grab on to it with both paws. Holding on to it tightly, he manages to stabilize himself. Upon letting out a sigh of relief that he didn't fall, however...he suddenly feels a growing warmth around his crotch, and his bladder emptying itself. Braixen's face quickly turns a deep shade of red as he realizes what's going on. He had been so focused on making sure that he didn't trip and hurt himself, that he had forgotten some about how badly he needed to pee. And it had come at a great cost...unfortunately for the fire fox, a dry stormy night would have to wait for another time. Knowing that there's nothing to salvage, Braixen just stands there and lets the rest of his stream out into the rapidly fading pull-up, fighting back tears as this happens. However, his misfortune is not going to end there. He then picks up his phone, and to his horror, finds that a spider web-like pattern has appeared on the screen. As he wonders how the hell that happened, he then realized...he hadn't put down his phone before stabilizing himself. Oh...oh, crap. Matt was not going to be too happy when he saw that. After another roar of thunder, the phone's flashlight suddenly shuts off, letting the embarrassed fox know that the battery has run out entirely. As he stands there in silence, listening to the rain and ping pong ball sized hail continue to pound the roof, he then hears the door to the attached bathroom in his trainer's room open, causing Braixen to let out a gulp. Appears as though the hail had been what finally awoke him from his slumber. While Matt wasn't the type to overreact to stuff like this, Braixen is still hesitant to tell him about the situation he's in...or his broken phone. So he slowly heads back to his bedroom, the occasional creaks of the wooden floor making him flinch, and hoping his trainer wouldn't hear them...he is able to make it back to the bedroom without Matt's voice stopping him in his tracks, and goes to find a fresh pull-up and changing supplies fast. However, will Matt come to check on him anyway, or since he might not have heard how his companion was doing, go back to sleep, and wait until in the morning to bring up anything? Part 4 Wanting to get this over with as fast as possible, Braixen quickly rips off the sides of the soaked pull-up, getting it off and tossing it in the trash. He then grabs the wipes and takes a few out, quickly putting them to his crotch and beginning to get it clean. The cold feeling causes him to shiver, but it's nothing he hasn't dealt with before, so he continues this for another few seconds, before those end up in the trash as well. By now, the storm is beginning to move on, and the rumbles of thunder are starting to become more distant. Just as he goes to get a fresh pull-up out, he stops upon hearing the familiar sound of his trainer's footsteps. As much as this worries Braixen, he does tries to think rationally. Maybe Matt assumes that his companion is still asleep, or has gone back to bed, and won't check on him...he's just going to get a midnight snack. Yeah, that's it. Telling himself over and over that's what he's doing, he then gets a fresh Mickey Pichu pull-up out...and a little bit of powder to sprinkle on himself first. Part 5 (Final) Luckily, a knock at the door or a turn of the doorknob never comes, and after standing still for a minute just to be safe, Braixen goes ahead and finishes up with the change, laying down in bed for a second just to sprinkle some powder on, before getting back up and taking one step at a time into the pull-up, then sliding it on all the way. "There...all done." he whispers to himself, then letting out a yawn. Now that the rain has died down for the most part, and the rumbles of thunder are becoming more instant, the fire fox feels comfortable enough to lay back down for the night, putting his damaged phone on the nightstand, and getting himself underneath the covers, taking a few seconds adjusting himself to where he's most comfortable. Once that's done, he lets out another yawn, and upon laying his head down on the pillow, closes his eyes, falling asleep after a few minutes...and this time, the rest of his night is peaceful. -End-
