Prologue Way up in the Northwoods of Michigan, in a small city called Alpena, on a warm day in May, the two girls of the Holland family - 10-year-old Spring the Leafeon, and 8-year-old Evelyn the Eevee, had just arrived home from school for the day, and before either one of their parents could say hello, they were already hauling butt upstairs to their bedrooms, setting down their backpacks once they were there, and getting out everything that they wanted to. The reason why they were particularly energetic on this afternoon is simple - Summer break had officially started! And this would mean that for three months...no school, and no homework whatsoever. Oh, the fun that was in store for them (as long as they didn't get grounded!). They were already thinking of everything they were going to do with friends, only to be quickly snapped out of it when their parents, Frost the Glaceon and Lithium the Jolteon, greeted them, and after giving them hugs, asked them about their day. Thankfully, it went well for both of them, one note-worthy moment being Evelyn defending a Helioptile classmate from a bully, which earned the Eevee plenty of praise. After that, the siblings began to relax for the day, getting themselves an ice cream cone out of the freezer, and heading back to their rooms after doing a minor chore. While Evelyn went to find some cartoons on the DVR to watch, Spring would quickly go to her laptop and boot it up. Once logged in, she quickly opened up Brave, and began to do some browsing. This session of hers would be somewhat typical - a few new videos from YouTube channels she liked, the latest news on upcoming Pokemon contests in the region, another visit to a site selling Japanese candy and sweets, and another hunt to try and find a credit card generator that actually worked...in addition to that, Spring also got some music going, putting in some earbuds as the grass cat began listening to some J-pop she had. Talking to friends on her phone could wait for now. However, one place she would go while browsing wasn't one most would expect, and she did so once confident her parents wouldn't abruptly walk in or anything like that. What is it? Well, you see, although Spring and Evelyn are close to one another, they each share a secret curiosity that neither one of them knows about, and their parents certainly don't either. And that is what it would be like to be wearing pull-ups again. This started two years ago, and has mainly grown as a result of interactions around a Piplup cousin of their named Cobalt, who's five years old and lives two hours across the state from them in Petoskey. This strange curiosity first started on one visit when he was three and in the middle of potty training, making Spring and Evelyn, at the time, eight and six respectively. And neither one of them knew why at first, but they found the designs on his pull-ups nice, and it made them jealous, somewhat wishing they could walk around in underwear that looked like that. Even as juvenile as it would be...they never told their parents about it, though, and even after potty training, Cobalt is still not out of pull-ups entirely due to a bedwetting problem. With Spring and Evelyn, the curiosity has grown past designs, both of them now thinking they look comfortable to be in, and this has started seeping into their search history, most of the searches being different brands, and questions about whether or not they're still normal children, or/if something's wrong with them. Regardless, both of them are extremely hesitant to tell their parents about this. Not because they'll be harshly punished or anything like that, but because in addition to the answer most likely being no, it might provide more than enough ammunition for their parents to tease them for many months to come. A simple look through their histories would bust both of them, but Frost and Lithium weren't the type to do that, so their secret was safe for now. Regardless, both of them did want to obtain padding sometime during this summer break, but the only question was...how? Evelyn wasn't thinking about that at this very moment, but Spring was. Part 1 Although she wasn't very confident, Spring strangely made the choice to try not to obtain any pull-ups for the duration of her summer break, not wanting those thoughts to get in the way of the fun she was going to have. Evelyn would make the same decision when similar thoughts came to the Eevee's mind close to dinner. However, this was going to be difficult, and the thoughts still came back every now and then, no matter how hard they tried to think of or focus on other things. If they were able to hold out all the way without attracting the suspicion of their parents, it'd be a huge accomplishment. And as of right now, who knows if that'll happen? Part 2 Spring tries to keep herself distracted from the pull-ups by any means necessary for the time being, and she's able to accomplish this by playing with toys, watching TV, and playing video games, in addition to tending to the chores that she's asked to do. However, three days later, the Leafeon is in her room, sitting on the carpet in front of the TV while a commercial break is on during an episode of Sylveon's Great Journey. For the most part, the commercials have been toys with the occasional cereal or snack advertisement thrown in. However, one of the ads during this particular break would be different from the rest...it would be advertising a brand of training pants. And as much as she tried to keep it to the back of her head, the pull-up curiosity came right back to the Leafeon. So much for trying not to think about it...while it did go back to Sylveon's Great Journey right after that, Spring was having a difficult time focusing on what was going on in the episode, thinking about what it would be like to wear these garments once again. Whatever she missed, Evelyn would probably fill her in on. But Spring wasn't exactly thinking about that...instead, she was thinking of a lie or an excuse to give to her parents, as a solo trip to a nearby store would be in her future. What exactly would it be? Part 3 Thinking of a lie didn't take long, believe it or not. 20 minutes later, Spring went ahead and got dressed, got her wallet, and walked downstairs, telling her parents that she wanted to go shop for some of the latest "clothes" by herself. Frost and Lithium were unsure of this, and tried to tell her that she could wait another day to do that. But she insisted on doing so, as a few of her shirts and pants were starting to get a bit tight, and after saying that, her parents decided to let her head off, although Frost would warn her that if she wasn't back by dinnertime, she was in big trouble. Spring promised she would be, and headed outside, got on her bike, and sped off to the store. Once there, she found a place to park it, and headed inside. The grass cat breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that no one she recognized, whether that be Cobalt, her friends, or any members of her family were inside, so that would spare her some embarrassment. Spring got a cart, and the first place she headed off to was the baby/toddler section, coming up with more lies to use if someone got suspicious of her purchases. Perhaps she could either be helping out her parents with potty training a younger sister that doesn't exist, or she had a little sister that wet the bed and her parents had asked her to go get some protection. Either one would work, she felt. She spent about a minute in the section with the pull-ups, trying to decide which of the 5T packages she wanted to take. She decided on the Whisker Haven pull-ups, as she thought the Kanto and Alolan Vulpixes running side by side were cute, and got two packages of them, before heading off to the childrens' clothing section. Some of the clothes getting to be a tight fit was also a lie, but Spring felt like buying just the pull-ups would increase the chances of her getting busted, so she was willing to spend a bit more of her allowance than she probably needed to. As she was picking out a new pair of shoes and a shirt, she jumped a bit at the feeling of a paw poking her back. Slowly turning around, she saw, to her shock, that it was... Part 4 "E-Evelyn?!" Spring shouted, surprised to see the Eevee standing before her. "W-what are you doing here?" "S-sis...i wanted to go with you to buy clothes as well, and my parents gave me permission to, as long as i was back by dinner." Evelyn answered, before giggling. "I gotta say...seeing you jump like that was pretty funny." Spring blushes. "Hmph...i'll get you back for that someday." she mutters, before shaking her head. "R-really...well, that's nice." she tells her sister, noticing her cart. "F-find anything you like?" "O-oh, yes, i have..." Evelyn answered, pointing to a few shirts and pants/shoes pairs. "What do you think?" Spring took a closer look. "Those look superb!" she exclaimed, noticing that the shirts appeared to be stacked on top of something underneath, but she wasn't going to ask. "And you certainly can afford more than me, Evie. All i can get is a few shirts and shoes that i like." Spring told her, pointing to her cart with a vine. "Well, that's okay. I'm sure mom and dad will buy you more when the time comes." Evelyn tells her. "That being said...i'm pretty much ready to check out. You, sis?" "I am too." Spring nods, and her and Evelyn two head off together to the checkouts, the two picking different ones once they got there. Surprisingly, their lies about helping out with potty training a younger sister worked, even though their cashiers, a Kantonian Ninetales and a Zoroark, did give them suspicious looks. Once they paid for their purchases, however, they left the store, attached their grocery bags to their bikes and headed home, neither one of them saying a word to each other along the way. Part 5 Unknown to Spring right now, Evelyn had also gotten pull-ups of her own, and that's exactly what was underneath the shirts she had bought. However, instead of Whisker Haven designs, Evelyn's were Deerling-themed, with a different seasonal front and color for each one, the designs all being the same hoof marks dotting the front, and a different wetness indicator for each season - a flower for Spring, a green leaf for Summer, an orange leaf for Autumn, and a snowflake for Winter. Once they got home, Spring and Evelyn greeted their parents, and told them they found what they wanted, but they'd wait a little while before deciding to put on a fashion show. Frost and Lithium nodded, and with that, the kids headed upstairs to their rooms, setting the clothes themselves down on their beds, before finding hiding spots for the pull-ups in their closets, and opening the packs up. After listening for a few seconds to make sure their parents weren't coming to check on them, Spring and Evelyn both took off their pants and underwear, before grabbing a pull-up out of their packs, and sliding it on, their velcro shoes posing no issue. Evelyn found her Summer Deerling pull-up to feel a bit weird, but hey, she hadn't worn one in a while...so the Eevee decided to keep it on, thinking she'll become more used to it as the day goes on, and she slides her pants back on over the pull-up before going to play with her toys, a faint rustle heard every few steps. Spring, however, was surprised by how comfy her Whisker Haven pull-up was, and she already liked them. The Leafeon wished she could go without pants the rest of the day, but well...you know. Although reluctant, Spring goes ahead and puts her pants back on before taking a seat on her bed and turning the TV back on, setting it to one of the cartoon channels, which right now, was airing some action racing show starring a Ledian named Comet. She laid back on her bed, and focused on watching that...this would be all she did for the next hour or so, and the same can be said for Evelyn playing with her toys. And during this time, the Eevee began to like how comfortable the pull-up felt. Yeah, she was eight years old, maybe a bit too big to be wearing these things, but so what? She was going to wear these whenever she felt like it, as long as neither one of her parents knew. Before long, both of them began to grow tired...the clock read 1:44 PM, so they felt like a little nap wouldn't hurt. Spring made sure to use the toilet first, as she felt the slight need to pee, and so did Evelyn, so they tended to that. Using what they had on wasn't even remotely on their minds yet, but maybe after a couple of hours or days, that'll change? But for now, they were more concerned with getting some rest. So without telling their parents, they laid down underneath the covers once they were finished using the bathroom, and after a few minutes, they were fast asleep... Part 6 Three hours later, close to dinnertime, Evelyn had been awake for a while now...but Spring was still fast asleep. So she told her parents, and together, the three of them went to the Leafeon's bedroom to wake her up. Spring opened her eyes and yawned, wondering what was going on. When Frost and Lithium told her about how long she slept, and that dinner was almost ready, Spring began to freak out, worried about how long she was going to stay up. However, Frost and Lithium managed to settle her down quickly, both giving her head pats while Frost assured her that it's okay if she's awake past midnight...she didn't have school to worry about, or any plans made that they knew of, so why be concerned? Although still a bit unsure, Spring begins to feel better, and becomes excited when Lithium informs her that they're having cauliflower crust pizzas tonight! One of her favorites! It'd still be a little while before they were ready, so for now, she could still do whatever she wanted. Spring nods, and Frost and Lithium head back to the kitchen while Evelyn stays in the room with her older sister. The first thing she says isn't what Spring is expecting...that she saw her pull-up. Spring goes red in the face and she asks how she knows, Evelyn responding by saying it was sticking out from underneath her shorts when she woke up, and still is. But luckily, her parents didn't seem to notice, otherwise, they certainly would have said something. the Leafeon gulps when she realizes her sister is right, and asks if she told anyone. Evelyn says no, and asks Spring if she wants to her a secret. When the grass cat nods yet, Evelyn puts her paws to her shorts and slides them down a bit, revealing the Summer Deerling pull-up she had been wearing for a few hours. This is certainly a surprise to Spring, and she begins to wonder if her sister didn't have the same curiosity as her thanks to being around Cobalt. When asked, Evelyn confirms this, and tells Spring not to worry about a thing, as her secret is safe with her. Spring says the same thing in response, and the two sisters decide to hang out in Spring's bedroom for now, watching whatever was on TV while they could before their parents called them down for dinner.
