“Trick or treat!”  The loud voices of more children came to the door, once again pulling Mary away from her television as she put on a forced smile. 

It was Halloween night, and despite having her lights off and no decorations the rather irritated pantheress was still getting a few odd kids coming to her house begging for free candy. She didn’t have any candy to give of course, but hoped that some of the few odds and ends she had to give away just in case would work, a few small cheap toys that served as her insurance against not giving anything at all and risking vandalism from bratty children and teens.
