“Kiki, come here and look at this!” The short tan vixen shot ahead of her much taller cyan-furred companion, her large vulpine ears perking up as she stood in front of one of the small kiosks on the beach.

“Meli, we are going to be late…” Kiki crossed her arms, only taking enough steps after her friend to still be within ear-shot

“I know, but look! Look, this is beautiful…I have to have it.”

Kiki rolled her eyes as she looked at the poster her friend had been so enthralled by – a picture of a shark girl clad in a gaudy bikini one-piece with “A Chance to win The Gift of the Sea – Inquire about our Challenge” written beneath. It was obviously meant for the tourists who would be drawn in by how extravagant it was and of course the shark wearing it would surely catch a few eyes.

“Meli, that is just some trash for the tourists –  com—”

“Allo Miss, I see dat our offer ‘ere has caught your eye.” A figure suddenly emerged from the small kiosk, a shark that was clearly a foreigner herself stood just over Meli’s height with an almost delighted look on her face as her sharp teeth glimmered against the backdrop of her grey skin.

“Definitely! It’s so beautiful, what do I have to do to win it?” Kiki rolled her eyes again before walking off, leaving her friend to gawk at the poster while she herself headed to the resort to wait.

“Well, all yous will be having to do is swim out to the boy out there – a little endurance test.” The shark women’s grin widened as she gestured out to a small buoy bobbing along the horizon, its bright orange barely visible to the vixen.

Meli hesitated for a moment before nodding, a smug grin widening across her face. She was more than confident she would be able to do it – she was no stranger to swimming, and especially on such a calm sunny day it wouldn’t be any time at all before she was wearing that beautiful swim-suit.

“Alright, I’ll do it.” The shark girl grinned as she pulled out a spy-glass and a timer from behind her counter – taking no time to set them both up.

“Okay then girlie, you go and I’ll keep an eye out on you. You make it back quick and I’ll give you a little bonus.” The words barely finished leaving the shark’s lips before Meli had set out – diving into the water and darting towards the orange dot in the distance. She was sure to have that swimsuit, and maybe whatever bonus was going to be offered too.
