They barely had any time in their right minds before they had their mind control rather forcibly renewed. During those brief times of sanity, they'd become friends and made a pact with one another. If one did manage to escape, they'd try to free the other or at least end their misery.\n\nTrip was the first to escape when his mind control failed during combat and he turned on his Hunter, killing him. Trip's mind control was always faulty due to him being an artificial psychic. He surrendered to the Section 27 force and holed up with them.\n\nHe laid low for a while, recovering and getting better control over what he can do before starting to head out on missions with the Section 27 team. During one such mission they fought the Kenal Hunt again. Trip managed to locate Biohazard and dueled her to a standstill after quietly stalking her and using his mental probes to help break up her mind control. She would've killed him because he wouldn't fight her directly but she managed to fight her way through the mind control. With his help, she broke the control and almost herself in the process.\n\nWhen she awoke, she found herself not in a medical bay but in Trip's quarters, in his bed.
