"description": "Digby and Karl went to explore the creepy abandoned cat lady house, looking to take it over and make it an advanced base; there they saw the thing with 3 noses, also known as the \"nosy one\".\n\nThey were creeping carefully towards the kitchen, somewhat anxious about trespassing on someone's property despite knowing the inhabitant was long gone. Probably also anxious BECAUSE the inhabitant was gone... what might they encounter in the abandoned house? was it haunted?\nKarl gasped, and stood still : there it was...\n\"Come on Karl, we'll be back tomorrow, it won't be there anymore...\"\n\nIt's self-explanatory, because this thing has noses instead of eyes, and a third nose at the appropriate place... they say you can encounter it in abandoned houses, it looks like a statue made of clay, sitting at a table, laying in a bed, standing at a window or behind curtains, or just crouching on the floor motionless. Mostly it appears to be totally mute, but multiple witnesses say it's constantly talking to itself in a mumbled voice, sometimes apparently narrating the intruder's thoughts.\n\nThis thing appears to be absolutely harmless, although there have been consistent testimonies about its encounter bringing persistent headaches. The easy fix to it would be not to be nosy, and keeping your nose out of where it doesn't belong. I don't have any more nose puns.\n\nAnyway\n\nI didn't mention this aspect of our childhood games yet : the monster investigation. It was pretty big. We would observe and classify monster activity, basically. They varied a lot in terms of malevolence; some, we were terrified of, like the \"little black head\". It was (supposedly) as the name implies, a small desiccated head that would appear at random places, always followed by some sort of curse. A sad one was the monkey head. We saw it while spinning around in one particular spot. It was often seen crying or generally being sad. Most of these monsters were some variations of [item]-man. Like leaf man. Shit man. They were basically as the name implies, a human form made up of whatever we were seeing.\n\nThis game does connect to the war with the Southern Neighbors somehow tho, because the night they moved into their newbuilt house and had some kind of party, we spied on them and \"saw\" (imagined) countless paranormal happenings. Monstrous guests; hideous apparitions at the windows... etc. This was probably some sort of propaganda campaign against them, as well... we were at war. Still a memorable night.\n\nWe were kinda self-aware about some of that stuff even tho we were really young, for instance we knew that as soon as someone proposed we play this game, at least one of us would pretend they suddenly saw monsters everywhere. It really wasn't all that fake tho. It's very easy to genuinely \"see\" such things, especially at a young age and with the autosuggestion power of a group of peers.",
