My apologies, the new room service employee didn't do as briefed. » and turning to said employee, he whispers : « Why is the Telepath monitor for room 455 turned off ?? »\n\nA female voice whispers in response, extremely low, terrified of being heard, perhaps even by the manager she's talking to.\n\n« He... he was sleeping... »\n\n« Turn it on NOW. »\n\n\nSigh. The app is now running. Immediately, the monitor starts recording the resident's order, and writes it down on the screen. There's a plentiful dinner consisting of dishes that sound like a bunch of made up words with some exotic seafood names thrown into the mix, fancy alcohol brands, as well as a bunch of profanities. The employee sighs again, and copy-pastes the Telepath feed for the dinner as it auto-completes and cuts the insults out, so she can send it to the kitchens. The feed ends with lewd comments at her intention. This guy... were they all like that in these tall icey skyscrapers ? Hard to tell, but not hard to guess, honestly. And certainly not something she liked to witness at all, in person or through Telepath.\n\n\nAnd during the course of the afternoon, she had gotten to see a lot of what lies underneath the surface, even deeper than the rude demeanor. At some point during the afternoon, the resident of room 455 had taken a long nap. She knew it, because the Telepath monitor had indicated it to her. The app functions a little bit like Alexa, is activated by a custom word set up in thought by the user ; since this leaves the possibility of the user dreaming this word, thus activating Telepath, the designers gave it the ability to detect that the user is merely dreaming by keeping a tab on brain activity. So she knew not to consider all the incoherent drivel the monitor had recorded as room service orders. But still had to sit through it, in case the brain activity indicated that he had woken up and actually wanted something. But she couldn't, and ended up turning off the app, unable to stomach any more of what this guy would demand in his dreams. It was the stuff of nightmares.\n\n\nAs she clicked the send icon, as if she was looking for a culprit, a logical cause for this exposition of the most depraved sins, she wondered what sort of sociopath would even create such an app. Not only could she not fathom how anyone would be so lazy as to not want to call room service and place an order, but... what about the multiple ways she could imagine right at that moment, that such an app could be used for really horrible uses ?\n\n\n« Huh, so long as I don't have to be the one bringing him his food... »\n\n\n« Oh by the way, » her manager's voice shouts close to her ear. « I'll take over the monitor for now, you go downstairs to the kitchens, and pick up the order for room 455.
