Sometimes it felt good to do nothing and just sit and chill – especially if you had the best company you could have to share that idle moment. A relaxing evening at home with his beloved one, it truly was a moment of bliss for Ivory. He and Sin were sitting on a comfy couch, watching TV, lights were off. Ivory had also made some tea for himself and was sipping that warm drink. Sin was just staring at the screen, having pretty expressionless face, following some drama television series, though, having pretty much zero interest in it. He had switched some channels in search for some entertainment, however, the current one was the only one that was showing something mildly appealing to watch. Ivory thought that the show was okay, but nothing great. Nonetheless, both of them kept watching in silence. After some minutes the drama ended and the credits rolled in. And after that part was over, some commercials conquered the screen. Ivory had finished drinking his tea and carefully placed the mug on the table that stood in front of the couch. Then he leaned on Sin, who didn't pay much attention to the smaller man. Next, the moment of commercials was over and something began to take their place: it was apparently a movie. But what kind of, they didn't know. It started by introducing a writer who seemed to be stuck with her work. She was in need for some inspiration so, so badly. Kind of boring way to kick off a movie, but who knows where this would lead to. Next, after complaining about this writer's block, a friend of hers suggested that she should rent a cabin – just to be in the middle of nowhere, the nature being her only companion. No people, just fresh air and she alone with her thoughts. The writer pondered about this a little while and then agreed that her friend's suggestion was indeed worth of trying out. So she fulfilled it. The cabin was nice and big enough for a few people to stay in. It may have been a bit weird for only one person to pay for so much space, but she liked to have some room for herself – and for her dog. It was apparently her best friend and she took it with her almost everywhere. And having a little furball as a companion in the middle of nowhere prevented her from getting too lonely. She hadn't even comprehended how good it felt to have gotten out of the town and enjoy the Mother Nature. The next scene showed many beautiful landscapes: the elderly forests, great hills consisting of rocks, the wonderful lake that were just some tens of meters away from the cabin… That region truly was like another world for the city-dweller. So far Sin and Ivory had found this movie to be a quite uninteresting one. However, things were going to change. A night came. The writer was fast asleep. But then, suddenly, she woke up because her dog began barking. She tried to hush her little friend, but the dog kept doing it. After a little while, though, the barking stopped. The dog didn't become completely silent and continued growling with a low voice. She thought nothing of it – maybe it was just some bird that hit the window – and just went back to sleep. When the morning dawned, she crawled out of her bed and made some coffee for herself. This was also a breakfast time for her dog, so she filled the little furball's bowl. But soon she learned that something was off. Her dog was nowhere to be seen, even though it would normally come straight to the kitchen to eat as soon as it would hear that food was available. She tried to call out for her friend, but got no response – no barking, no little skittering against the floor. She checked every room, whistling, but she couldn't find her dog. That was odd. Worried, she then decided to investigate outside of the cabin, even though it made no sense for her dog to be found from there – it was too tiny to open doors. She stepped outside… And tears began to form in her eyes. There it was laying, dead and cold, just a few meters away from the door. The stomach had been sliced open. This was the part when Ivory started to feel really uneasy. He was afraid of violence, so seeing something like that happen to the poor dog made him a bit anxious. The writer collapsed to the ground, crying heavily. She had lost her most precious friend. Filled with sadness, she could only stay there kneeling, caressing the dog's head. She couldn't think clearly, not until a moment had passed. Then questions started to form in her mind: how had this happen? Who could have possibly done this? There was no chance that an animal had done this, otherwise the door would have been torn down. Someone had opened it at night, took the dog and murdered it, and closed the door… A human. As the writer realized this, a fear accompanied her sorrow. She had thought that because she was in the middle of nowhere, there was no need to lock the door, but apparently, she made a mistake. A mistake that cost the life of her dog. She decided to leave that place immediately. As swiftly as she could, she packed her stuff and loaded her car, then did the undesirable job and got a blanket and wrapped it around the body of the dog, carrying it carefully to the back seat. Lastly, she hopped to the car and was ready to flee. But the car didn't start. She gave it many attempts, but to no avail. This only increased her anxiety. It seemed like that next thing she tried was her only hope of getting away from that place. She attempted to call her friend – but couldn't reach her. The signal strength was nonexistent. At this point it really felt like that the whole world was against her. Defeated, she just sat inside the car. What could she do? She was stuck in the middle of nowhere. Alone. With a lunatic. Ivory was really starting to feel scared: the usually purple markings on his skin turned to black, indicating that he was currently feeling a negative emotion. He wrapped his arms around Sin, as if seeking protection from him. Sin snorted lightly, being a bit amused by the smaller man's trepidity. The writer didn't sleep that night. She had locked the door, but it didn't really make her feel safe. Her only safety was a kitchen knife. Quivering in her bed, even the faintest noises caused her to be alarmed. Then it happened. Her worst fear became reality. She heard a very loud crash, like someone was forcefully trying to open the door. For a few seconds she was frozen with horror. “Hello? Hello? Is anybody home?” It was a man's voice, those words spoken tauntingly. As fast as she could, she got out of her bed, grabbed her knife and waited. Her heart was beating so vigorously she was afraid that the man could hear it. The heavy steps were getting closer. She was grasping her knife like her life depended on it – which wasn't far away from truth. The man had found his way to the bedroom and in that instant, the writer stabbed blindly the threatening figure and ran away, not looking back. She dashed out of the cabin and followed the road. She didn't really have choice. “They say you can't leave! No, no, no!” The man screamed after her. She just kept running, wanting desperately to get away from that madman. “Run, run, run! I like to hunt!” His train of thought seemed to be quite incoherent. The next scene just showed the writer running for her life. Ivory was squeezing Sin tightly, for he was feeling pretty nervous. Sin wasn't even fazed. Well, of course not, since he was well capable of ending someone's life. Fictional violence was nothing to him. “It's just a movie”, he commented to Ivory. Then he captured the smaller man to his embrace. Ivory whined a bit, but felt more comfortable and pleasant in Sin's arms. Together they continued to watch the movie. It seemed that the madman was a lot faster than the writer, because after a moment of chase, he caught her. He managed to trip her and she fell to the cold ground. Giving her no time to recover, he sat on her back. “They say you have to fade away”, the man said with a rather happy tone. “They'll be pleased when you sleep!” The writer tried to struggle: she was screaming and kicking but was in unfortunate position that her desperate fight had pretty much no effect on the man. He was too big and heavy compared to her, so there was no way for her to get him off of her back. He raised the hatchet he had been carrying – and struck it to her shoulder. She was screeching in agony. Ivory couldn't watch this torture and hid his face against Sin's chest. Sin found this to be amusing, and a short chuckle escaped from his mouth. He was caressing Ivory's hair, while continuing to watch the bloody cruelty happening on TV. The movie ended after the madman finally killed his victim. All in all, it was pretty sloppily done and crappy film. But maybe it did the right effect on those who are afraid of horror and violence. Like poor Ivory, who still was clinging on to Sin, too scared to look at the TV. “It ended already”, Sin announced. Ivory looked up at his beloved one and these words came out of his mouth: “Oh… Okay.” He lifted himself up and noticed that there was nothing to be afraid of anymore. He felt relieved, his markings starting to turn purple again. An awkward laugh escaped from his lips and then he smiled at Sin. “That was pretty scary, right?” Ivory said. “Maybe for you.” Sin shrugged. Ivory scratched his head, being a bit embarrassed. “Anyway… Should we go to sleep?” Ivory asked after giving a quick glance at the clock. “Fine by me”, Sin stated. They both stood up and Ivory turned the TV off. Then they walked out of the room, heading to bed. Ivory was so happy that he had Sin with him – maybe sleeping with him would keep the nightmares away.
