"writing": "Nothing could have prepared the town of Morkynia about the great calamity that would soon occur. But it had been plotted for a long time, in a complete secret, even though it had already claimed the lives of many people. Perhaps there had been a few of those who could see a glimpse of the future and had seen the destruction and death that would take place in Morkynia, but they were weak and helpless in front of the disaster and there was no way to stop it from happening. A town like Morkynia was destined to fall eventually, for too many tormented, wretched, wicked and greedy people lingered there; it truly displayed the unfairness of the world. In a way, maybe it was a good riddance that Morkynia would face such misfortune.\n\nThe day had turned into night, though there wasn't much difference. The sky had been dark all day, black clouds had prevented the light reaching the town. It had been an ominous sign itself and some weak-minded poor people had got anxious feelings within their feeble hearts. It was like all the wickedness of the region had gathered in heaven and several people were almost waiting for some sort of judgement coming down from the sky. A slight drizzle had soaked Morkynia for a little while during the afternoon, and various residents of the town had hoped that it was a purifying rain that would wash away the filth and sins of their town. A cold and harsh wind had blown through Morkynia all day, screaming warnings about the upcoming disaster that would soon happen, but of course, no one could understand its words. People had just hoped that it would blow away the eerie black clouds, however, it never did that, and just continued to screech its frustrated warnings. If only the people could understand, maybe their fate would be a different one.\n\nSince the residents and the motley cast of travelers that were visiting Morkynia were completely unaware about what was going to transpire, they had just lived their lives like any other day. Important merchants had been doing their business as usual, thieves had been sneaking in the shadows to snatch a hefty purse from wealthy people, beggars had been begging in the corners of houses, mostly being ignored by everyone else, and common people had been doing their mundane chores like usual and served the greedy ones that just happened to have a higher social status. It was the town of opposites and for generations, that's how they had learned to live. People were coming and going constantly since Morkynia had a port, its waters cold and black, and many people had drowned to the dark depths, some accidentally, but most purposely, maybe for having too much debt. That day, those who sailed away from the town were the lucky ones, narrowly making an escape from the calamity.\n\nThe time was a little past midnight when the people in Morkynia heard a terrifyingly loud rumble of thunder. A lot of people who happened to be out at that moment had shifted their gazes into the sky and they could see flashes of red lightnings that split the dark clouds and the heavens for a brief moment. It was unnatural and sinister and it struck unexplainable fear into the hearts of people; even common folks could sense that something was seriously wrong, even though they had no idea why. A lot of people took shelter from the nearest building they could access or ran to their own homes, hoping that they would be safe – but no walls built by men would keep them unharmed from the coming disaster.\n\nThen the wind became even more heartless and strong and its moans were loud as it blew through Morkynia, and the town hadn't probably seen such a fierce wind like that ever before. Something was coming together with the breeze, for people could hear unnatural screaming that tried to get itself heard over the wind's howls and the rumble of thunder. As it was getting closer, the strange sound was starting to resemble laughter instead of screams and people who were hiding inside buildings were peeking from their windows to see if they could catch a glimpse of what was the source of such mad noises. But those very few who were still outside were the first ones to notice a lone figure that then appeared and rushed through the streets of Morkynia, its mad laughter ringing in the tense air.\n\nIt was a black fox, about the size of a big dog. It was wearing horns on its head and its red eyes were blazing like the flames of hell; its appearance was definitely a bad omen and caused even more anxiety among the people of Morkynia.\n\nThen the fox started shrieking and so loud were its words that everyone could hear them: “He did it! He did it! The gate is open! You are all going to die! You all will die and get dragged to hell!”\n\nThe mad fox was just a prelude to something far more wicked and destructive, and the fox just kept repeating these words and laughing some more as it continued to run through the town. No one was sure what these sinister words meant, but they didn't have to worry about that for long, because they would soon find out.\n\nShortly a scent of rot came with the wind and the smell was so strong that it was like there was a pile of decayed corpses right in the middle of the town. It made people feel sick and some couldn't stand the stench at all, causing them to vomit. A reek of hell, that's what it was. And now, the stage is ready for the final part since the introductions are out of the way.\n\nRiding on the winds, being the source of the rotten smell, were the horde of demons. Each one of them was a disgusting abomination and every single one of them was there to destroy, slaughter and take souls from the people. They screeched, they moaned, they cackled as they got closer to Morkynia and they could smell the fear and anxiety of the people. It was like sweet nectar to them and their bloodlust would only grow as they reached the first buildings and thus, reached the first victims as well. They would barge in the houses, tear down the doors, smash all the pieces of furniture that were on their way as they would try to get their deadly hands on the people hiding in the building. No matter how well they attempted to hide, the demons would find them, for they could hear their heartbeats even amidst all the chaos. The nightmarish creatures would strike with no mercy, cutting the flesh of their victims with weapons made of bones, enjoying to spill their blood so much that they didn't want to steal their lives immediately, but would make them bleed out slowly and painfully, causing as much agony as they could. Tormented souls are delicious souls. And that night, Morkynia would be full of them.\n\nThe senseless horror spread through the town fast and a lot of horrified people attempted to escape the disaster, only to fail miserably. Those who tried to run away as fast as they could were soon struck down by the bony blades, their blood staining the ground. Chopped to pieces like chunks of meat, the screams of the people were piercing the air, which only excited the demons more. Their seemingly endless army just continued to proceed further into the town, setting buildings on fire and bringing suffering upon the people. There were a few of those who managed to get to the port and desperately attempted to sail away from the carnage, but none of them were able to get away as the demons would cast the fires of hell to destroy the ships. The people on board would drown in the black waters or get carried off by the demons, only to be tortured like everybody else.\n\nMost people were helpless in front of the wicked creatures of hell. But there were a couple of individuals that had some sort of fighting skills. Some had a noble heart, thinking that they most likely wouldn't survive, but at least they would bring down as many abominations as they could. Then there were selfish ones that tried to sneak away by using their abilities, hoping that they wouldn't be noticed by the majority of the demons. But in the end, only demise awaited, no matter how well people tried to cheat against death.\n\nIt was a pure horror show. Most of the buildings were on dark fire, stronger than regular flames known to man. Blood of the people were flooding the streets and some demons were licking the ground with their vile tongues to taste everything; fear, despair and agony. People were lingering between the border of life and death, so mutilated and tortured that they just wished to die. And in the end, the demons would grant that to them, however, death wouldn't bring them salvation. Their souls, the everlasting piece of humans, would be dragged to hell where they would face such suffering that they would have never been able to comprehend something like that in their lives. Or perhaps, they would be consumed by the strongest demons, thus contributing in growing their monstrous strength even more. And that would be the end of their existence, once the soul was gone, nothing else would remain.\n\nAs death, destruction and massacre reigned in the streets of Morkynia, there was one creature who was unharmed by the mayhem. The black fox was still roaming the streets, still screeching and laughing like a maniac. The demons ignored its presence and so the fox was able to wander around freely and without being disturbed. Maybe it was a creature of hell itself and that's why the demons considered it as one of their own kin. The fox wasn't there to slaughter or snatch souls, it gladly left that task for the demons. It was simply an onlooker and was satisfied with that role. It would leisurely stroll around Morkynia, grinning madly, and occasionally just stop to watch someone getting tortured by a demon. The fox had waited for so long this to happen, it knew the certain someone who was responsible of all this destruction and death. It enjoyed the great misfortune, for it had a taste for wickedness and malice. It sort of felt privileged now that it was one of the witnesses of this calamity, an incident so grandeur that it would be left in history for sure. And this was only the beginning. Morkynia was merely the first target for the hellish forces that had been unleashed. Such thought excited the fox and it continued to wander through the streets that were bleeding and smelling rotten.\n\nThe fox, however, wasn't the only one observing the fall of Morkynia. High above the settlement was yet another creature, a large and hideous bat-like being that was flapping its mighty wings that were strong enough to resist the winds of storm. It was veering around the town, observing the bloody stage and all the destruction and death that was taking place. The sight of the burning town where the blood was flowing, it pleased the being's rotten soul, for it was his doing that Morkynia was now getting conquered by the demons. It was him who had opened the gate to the demon realm and unleashed the horrors upon the world of men.\n\nSome people seek peace, but he had always had the desire to bring more malice into this world. It had been his purpose ever since he was born from the blood of the evil being Rak'kram. Thus, he was born as a monster and naturally, monsters were the enemies of humans.\n\nHe kept gliding above Morkynia and laughed, he had looked forward to this day for so long. And he would make sure that the evil would spread to the lands beyond this region, it was time for the humans to fall! The darkness would devour the world of men, little by little, and he, Rakken, would see that day to come.",
