The way they could relate to these things, death and horrible situations that ran rampant in the shit they had seen. He couldn’t really relay these things to anyone he picked up, they wouldn’t understand. With Zouge and Zomega, it wasn’t the same as talking it out, more acknowledging it happened and moving on. He was used to doing that, not really dealing with the emotional part. He leaned into Zonic’s hand, closing his eyes as he listened to him. It felt comforting, and such a nice idea. \n\n“That does sound like a nice thing to do. I didn’t know them too well, but the gruesome nature of their death sticks with me too well.” He huffed. “Their funerals are yet to be scheduled… I’m sure we’ll all be there to honor them, but having you at my side may be very comforting.” He nodded, “Thank you. It’ll be alright though, I know they did what they could, just… very unfortunate that they were ended in such a manner.” He sighed, “Still, it’s not something I want to end the night with.” He looked at Zonic and sighed happily. With his eyes slowly closing, they reopened so fast, he could’ve sworn he was quick to make himself dizzy. \n\n“Scourge?” He asked, recognizing that name instantly. Only one person he knew of with that name was that deplorable Anti-Sonic that made a name for himself… an alternate version of Zonic, by the way. He was… confused. Not one person out there would have such a name. “Are you… talking about the green hedgehog that was… put in Zone Jail some months ago?” He asked, though it seemed like Zonic was knocked out. That was not something he was okay with. This information was much too new and not enough detail was shared. He felt worried, as if something perfect was just ripped to shreds. Why would Zonic be referring to a criminal as if he was someone capable of being...well… he didn’t know. \n\nZhadow sat up, looking down at the other for a moment. Maybe there were others that shared that name, it wasn’t like names such as his own and Scourge’s were uncommon. It wasn’t even a Zone name, so he must’ve been foreign. He got off the bed, getting a t-shirt and shorts on, turning on his computer. He was just… he needed to know if there were others with that same name. Zonic should not be anywhere near someone like that, especially in the comfort of his own home… \n\n----\nMorning came a bit too slow. Zhadow was unsure how to process last night’s information which didn’t help his already horrible insomnia. He had been on his computer all night, searching for others that shared the name Scourge. He couldn’t find much and his police files only pulled up that horrible green hedgehog. No one else. He wanted to ask questions, wanted to go over to Zonic’s place to see for himself. Was that even… legal? Was he really able to just bring criminals to his house for whatever reason? Zonic was -not- a corrupt cop, he knew that much but this was unsettling. Why did it bother him so much? Maybe he just couldn’t stand by with this information sitting in the front of his mind. He was still in his chair by the time the sun came up, laying on his desk. \n\nZonic slept like a rock through the whole night despite his strange dreams. still he was more than disappointed by the fact that he was alone when he finally woke up. He got up from the bed, surprised that he could walk completely normally despite the rather intense last night. Well there had been no pain this time so that explained that.\n\nHe left the bedroom looking for Zhadow and found him sitting in front of his laptop, sleeping on the desk. Why. Did he have more work to do, or... Zonic's muzzle lost all colour as he walked around the desk and saw Scourge's police file on the screen. His heart and breath had stopped completely for a moment. What... what did this mean? How did Zhadow find out? Had he accidentally mentioned Scourge's name? He could very faintly remember something like that. No. This was awful. He felt like running. Just grabbing his things and disappearing. But... somehow he felt that would make matters worse. He had to stay... and explain it. Otherwise Zhadow would get the wrong idea.\n\nIt was funny how reality managed to catch up with him that fast. He was nervous now and back to feeling sick.\n\nHe couldn't leave without clearing this up. Zhadow would get a completely wrong idea if he didn't. So he went to fetch a blanket from the couch, draping it over the Agent and snuck into the bathroom to get himself cleaned up.\n\nAll while trying to keep himself from a mental meltdown. When he came out of the shower his gaze fell on the desk instantly... but it was empty now, the laptop shut down. He clenched his fingers into the towel that he was carrying to rub his spines dry. He felt like he was going to get a taste of an elite agent's interrogation skills very soon.\n\nHe stirred, feeling something being put on him. He slowly came to, the room was so bright suddenly. Zhadow looked around, patting the blanket that was now over his shoulders. Zonic was awake and… shit. He turned off his computer, cleared the desk and pulled the blanket off. He didn’t mean to leave it on, but he got so sucked into research… Still, if Zonic saw, he may have left… No, he didn’t. The shower was on. Zhadow set his blanket in the room after folding it, coming back out and stood by the bathroom door for a moment, tempted to knock but left to the kitchen instead. He started up the coffee pot, pulling out some food to make for breakfast. He was just so confused and unsure, but felt maybe it was best to not ask. He was having a hard time trying to silence his curiosity, but this dealt with a rather serious matter. If Zonic really was housing Scourge, that would be something he’d have to report to his superior. But could he actually do that? He didn’t know the whole story, for all he knew, Scourge could have been brought to Zonic’s care for a reason. He wasn’t sure, he didn’t know and it nagged him so much. \n\nZhadow was all about just getting work done, making things safer for everyone else. He felt it was his personal duty to make the world a safer place for the less fortunate. He made a promise to help others be happy and that was what he’d set out to do. Scourge was someone who prided on taking things from others, someone that never stopped till there was nothing left. He was… horrible in every sense of the word. Having taken over his own zone as well as tried to take over Prime Sonic’s. It was a rather disturbing case how powerful he had been, even to the point of defeating Prime Shadow. That there really unsettled him. Still, he wasn’t trying to think the worst of this, but Zonic was making a mistake if that was the guy he was… feeling things for. \n\nHearing the other come out, he noticed that the eggs were burning. He dumped them, a bit frantic with the way he had picked up the pan by the handle. He saw the other and set the pan down, turning off the fire. \n\n“Good… morning.” He said in a low voice, turning away and frowned some. He wanted to ask… but would it really be his business? He was worried, but also upset. If it was -that- Scourge, he was left unattended with a hooker at Zonic’s house. Irresponsible, unprofessional, just not an okay thing to have happen with a loose cannon like that terrible hedgehog. He did his best not to ask, he wanted to at least have a nice morning. “You hungry? I… sort of burned the eggs without thinking. I swear I’m an okay cook.” \n\nIn all honesty Zonic was surprised that he wasn't being restrained and interrogated right now... Instead the other offered him a good morning and talked about breakfast. Ha. Zonic knew he couldn't eat anything right now. Even just swallowing his own saliva seemed unnecessarily difficult.\n\n\"Zhadow.\" He interrupted the other's ramblings about cooking. \"Just ask. I saw the file on your laptop. You want to know, don't you? I'll tell you.\" He said quietly. He was still clinging to the towel, his ears were drooping ever so slightly but he was determined to come clean. No use trying to keep anything from an agent anyway.\n\nHe walked past the other, grabbing two cups of black coffee and pulling the dark Hedgehog along with him to the couch. He took a sip of his hot drink and tried to think of how to start this without making it worse. \"So... yes. It's him. My 'roommate'. Not really a roommate as you may be able to imagine by now. He's my prisoner. I did a scheduled inspection in Zone Jail. You know this kinda in and out kind of job. Really boring but necessary. Except this time I saw... on the surveillance feed, how Scourge was mistreated... badly, by other inmates. And that wouldn't have been much of a concern but I saw two guards look at the scene and just walk past it. As you may know a prison guard's duty is to create peace, break up fights and protect the inmates from each other to keep the peace alongside the obvious job of keeping everyone from breaking out.\" He explained quietly, sipping some more of his coffee.\n\n\"I... acted on impulse. I couldn't just stand by and watch and... we both know how slow courts work on these types of cases. So I... made Zobotonik legally sign Scourge off to me. I know now that I overreacted because he... he's me... from another dimension. I couldn't watch these brutes breaking his leg while men of the law just stood by and laughed. My house has a holding cell so I am... technically, legally allowed to house a single prisoner temporarily. It's sort of a legal grey zone because 'temporarily' has never been defined any clearer in the law books.... I got the case started in court. You know Zally right? She's leading it for me. I'm going to get management to change in Zone-Jail and stop this awful violence. Or so... was the original plan... But I... took Scourge into my house. The holding cell is no place to treat someone so heavily injured. And after taking him with me I had responsibilities.\" He let out a deep sigh, drawing his knees underneath his chin, staring into his coffee.\n\n\"And then... I... started to sympathize with him. He -can- be nice company if you're around him enough. I don't know how it got physical.\" Now his muzzle was red. \"Go on... tell me I'm making an awful mistake and that I'm sick for being addicted in that way to a criminal who treats me like a convenient whore free of charge. Tell me I'm pathetic for feeling lonely when he's not around... It'll all end today anyway. He just has to dump me one more time and I can move on.\" He ran his fingers into his own spines, terrified of Zhadow’s response.\n\nThat was a quality not many people had, but he could tell from this alone that Zonic was an honest man and he must have had his reasons for why he went ahead with this. Though it wasn’t the smartest decision, by any means… but he would listen. Zhadow followed, sitting down and held his mug without taking a sip. He watched the other, listened carefully. He took a while before he said anything, trying to think of a response that was appropriate for the situation. Zhadow was nowhere near that emotional towards criminals, even if they were suffering through very unfair means. His way of dealing would’ve probably been to order solitary confinement rather than taking it into his own hands. He didn’t understand Zonic’s decision but that seemed to be a Sonic thing… to just act on instinct. He could sort of get that, from the gut feeling, but it was still a very strong emotional response which called for not so good consequences. \n\n“That was irresponsible of you. Unprofessional.” He began, his expression was blank, not really as warm and welcoming as it had been since they met up. “Such a criminal as that… while it was good that you’re working to make the jail much safer, there are definitely other ways this could have been handled. As officers, we’re trained to keep the public safe, and only a bare minimum on how to deal with such people as Scourge. You’re only one person, you cannot assume such an authority over an individual like that, especially someone as wild and unpredictable as him.” He was stern, but it seemed to come from a less than cold place. “You allowed your emotions to get the best of you… though I cannot be completely disappointed. It still lead to something being done about the corrupt authority in the Zone Jail.” He looked away. It wasn’t too weird when he thought about how alternate selves could be way different than the prime. He knew his Prime self was a lot less justice-driven and more for his own survival. Having dealt with loss, amnesia and identity issues that Zhadow thankfully didn’t have much to worry about. No, Zhadow had people he lost, was brought up in a similar way as the other only tragedy didn’t strike so gruesomely. \n\nHe set his mug down, patting Zonic’s knee. He wanted to end this on a less serious note, or at least give the other some advice. He couldn’t help but be very by the book over this, but to have someone so dangerous in the home when he was supposed to be behind bars… his sentence no longer meant anything. \n\n“What happened after you brought him back, I would say is something bound to happen within any relationship if given time. It’s not uncommon to fall for someone so opposite of yourself, even though you’re aware they aren’t good for you. It must’ve been difficult to come to terms with that, but understand it doesn’t make you any less of a good person for this. You’re naive and emotional, but by no means pathetic.” He lifted his hand from his knee and placed it on the other’s cheek. “You seem to have a much bigger heart than I. I could never find myself feeling sorry for someone that has hurt others for his own personal gain. But you must see good in all people, and for that it makes you a lot stronger than most.” \n\nIt was a weird way to take this conversation, but he meant it. He didn’t have such a luxury, but he wasn’t about to hope for something such as that. He was fine with how he was. \n\n“It’s good you know your decision was quite… well… i’m sorry, but it was a very stupid thing to do. And I personally am disappointed, but I also do commend you acting on the injustices of the jail. It’s not my place to tell you who you’re allowed to be attracted to, though I’m not sure of your tastes… but you did say only when he came about did you actually find yourself… So I can’t fault you for that, haha.” He shook his head. “But please… Zonic, you need to be careful. Maybe he is an okay person…” He frowned at the thought, not believing his own words, “but he is still a criminal. Never forget that… and he still has a sentence to live out. You’d be better off getting him back in prison as soon as you can when this is all settled. Are you.. Sure you’re okay with going back home to … well… that?” \n\nZonic cringed. Zhadow was so honest about his opinions and hearing the truth was painful. It felt even more painful to hear everything he did wrong listed up. Zally had been lecturing him about it but it'd been much less bad. While Zhadow was calm and collected about it, dishing out nothing but facts. He felt so stupid. \"Damn hearing it from someone else feels awful.\" He mumbled leaning into the hand touching his cheek. \"I'm sorry I disillusioned you...\" He placed his cup on the table and looked at Zhadow. Guilt was written allover him. He knew he'd messed up. He knew what he was doing was wrong. What he didn't know was... how to clean it up.\n\n\"I can't bring him back there before the court is through that case and things have changed... otherwise the entirety of last month's chaos was for naught.\" He said quietly but determined. \"Even -he- mocks me for being too soft.\" He gave Zhadow a slightly pained smile.\n\nThe thought of home made him groan quietly. \"I'm gonna be fine. Because I met you... I'll be fine.\" He said, a lot more determined than before. \"I'll go home, he'll tell me he had a great time with that hooker and is still straight and I'll be able to leave that behind me. I'll see that court case through... and then...send him back once I know he'll be safe there.\" He took Zhadow's hand in his and kissed his palm, looking up at him.\n\n\"If you'll still have me even though I'm an emotional idiot who can't help but act on impulses sometimes...\" He let go of the hand and got off the couch to search for his clothes. After getting dressed he returned to Zhadow dangling his communicator in front of his face. \"Give me your number? I've been promised wine. Probably to celebrate getting my mess sorted.\"\n\nHe frowned… this wasn’t what he was trying to say, with Zonic talking about himself like that. \n\n“You made a mistake. This does not constitute that you’re of lesser intelligence or someone that deserves to be slapped over the head multiple times for this.” He scooted closer, cupping both of Zonic’s cheeks and kissed him. He didn’t… have to, but he wasn’t a fan of Zonic talking shit like that. “You’re an honest man, a very dedicated officer that did what he thought was right at the time. Even if it wasn’t the best, you followed your heart. That’s corny but true.” He let go, his palm being kissed. He frowned again, this was… well, yeah a mess. Zhadow looked away as the other got up. He was a little disheartened, but he didn’t want to just give up just because Zonic did something he didn’t agree with. \n\n“There’s a chance he may not have had a good time.” He muttered, though he was only saying so because he worried Zonic would get sucked into this would-be relationship that just seemed to stress him out. If from what he could recall, Zonic had been attracted to someone that denied him any affection unless he had some excuse to show it. Someone so deep in denial that they made a ridiculous bet just to settle a score that could easily go both ways. Even with the fact that Scourge was alone with some prostitute, another thing he disapproved of because soliciting sex, but the fact he could lie about his night, have escaped… so many things that could’ve went wrong. Zonic was way too trusting. \n\nAnd yet he still felt some admiration for him. The way he just… did what his gut told him. Albeit, this was probably the dumbest but he didn’t feel Zonic was stupid for it. He hated that he was… now attached, and this wasn’t a one night stand he could simply forget by working overtime and never having a night alone. No, Zonic and him worked in the same building, he’d still think of last night. It was burned into his mind. When Zonic came back, his ear flicked, the communicator so close to his face. He took it, looking up at Zonic and sighed. \n“I know you’ll make the right choice… Whatever works best for you.” Part of him wanted to stop this till Scourge was behind bars for good, but he also felt Zonic may actually be right about the outcome when he got home. Or he’d have to hear that Zonic and Scourge somehow made it work out, the worst possible outcome, but something very likely. Being around someone he was definitely going to feel something for, there was no way to intercept that when it was just them. Zhadow felt he had pretty much lost this, but he was patient and would only butt in if he needed to. He entered in his number, standing up and gave Zonic one more kiss to the cheek. “Let’s get you back to your car…” \n\n-- \n\nIt didn’t take long because Zhadow had came back to the bar, seeing that Zonic’s car was still where it was left. He left the car on, knowing that it wouldn’t take long for them to separate. \n\n“I had a nice time. And… yes, sometime soon we’ll need to either go out or you come back to my place.” He smiled, unlocking the doors. Chaos, he hoped that things went well… but in the very back of his mind he already knew this was going to get even messier than before. \n\nZonic got more nervous by the second while in the car. He was dreading what was to come even though he was a little less miserable. Still, once he saw his car he felt like running again. He looked at Zhadow and wrapped his arms around his neck one more time, kissing his cheek and then his lips sweetly. \"I'll fix everything.\" He mumbled, more to get himself out of the anxiety.\n\n\"I had a nice time too... more than nice.\" He smiled and finally got out of the car. It was gonna be alright. Everything was gonna work out. He waved at Zhadow and got into his own car, sighing quietly as he started the engine. Why did it feel like he was riding to battle.\n\nInstead of focusing on what was to come he remembered last night, He could still feel Zhadow's warm, gentle hands allover him. Chaos, that had been.... really good. He sure hoped he would get another chance to meet his surprisingly incredible coworker on one of his off days again.\n\nHe wrote a message to Scourge's communicator that he was coming home, and started driving. He'd wanted to call to make sure the other heard him... but he wasn't up to hear Scourge's voice just yet.\n\nThe drive took him about fifteen minutes before he pulled into his driveway and by the time he unlocked his front door he could feel his heart beating in his throat and his feet were tingling as if he was gonna start running any second now.\n\nHe didn't even dare make a sound as he stepped into the hallway to take off his shoes. He was gonna get dumped. It'd be okay. It'd be totally okay.\n\nThe send off was short and sweet but the obvious anxiety the other was riddled with definitely worried Zhadow. Still, he didn’t allow it to affect him too much. Zonic was grown, he’d figure things out. He didn’t fully believe that Zonic could really fix this %100, but he nodded along anyways. A messy, bad situation, but miracles were a thing. He threw the idea that he’d be chosen in the back of his mind, reminding himself this was only one night that they spent together and not everything was suddenly set in stone for him. He watched Zonic drive off, feeling a lot less worried as he carried on with his day. \n\n---\n\nWhat a night. \n\nScourge had too much going on in his head that he couldn’t come to explain. There was just such a variety of emotions that he had went through in the span of less than 8 hours. Excitement, anxiety, lust, disappointment… he wasn’t sure which was the worst of them all. He was unable to stay still, having fucked up everything to the point he was on the couch while the fox girl was in Zonic’s bed. \n\nThings went nicely at first, as it felt as though the night would end pretty well. Scourge was proud, his erection was here, his hands were all over her body, he made her scream once or twice. He knew he was good at this, knew he would get her so head over heels for him that she’d be paying him to fuck her. It was nice, having used her fingers and sensual grinding against the other, he did a good fuckin’ job. It was only when it came to using his dick that things went south. Something felt off, different about the hole he was about to use, not really knowing how the he was feeling… frozen. \n\nThe body that laid underneath him was needy, filled with a lustful taste for green hedgehogs and opening up just for him. He felt himself laugh nervously as he stroked himself, asking her to coax him into fucking her senseless. She complied, giving him all the words he asked for and attempted to slide his way in. It was a very wet place, which he missed but his mind was not where it should’ve been. He was almost surprised by her moans, they didn’t sound like his. He frowned, that wasn’t something he needed to think about right now. With his movements, they felt awkward and uncoordinated, clumsy and just downright unenjoyable. His mind was in other places, wondering where his cop companion was, what was he doing, did he manage to find a nice guy? \n\n“Zonic..” He huffed, though he wasn’t even aware of the name that just came out, his thrusting intensified. The fox girl pushed at him, making him stop. \n\n“Excuse me?” \n\n“What??” \n\n“You just said ‘Zonic’. What the fuck is that all about?” Scourge frowned at her, almost insulted she’d lie to him to his face like that. \n\n“I did not say that.” \n\n“Yes. You did. You whispered it into my ear…! That’s saying something, boo.” \n\n“...” Scourge scoffed, shaking his head and tried to continue. His performance felt even worse, he had to stop, those moans weren’t what he wanted to hear. He frowned at himself, not understanding why this slowly became less ...good. His dick was making it obvious that he was losing his mood. What the fuck was this. “Hang on.” He got up from the couch, going to the bathroom and shut the door. What the fuck. \n\nIt was a bit of a disaster. Scourge was more than mortified that he hadn’t been what he had set out to do. He liked women, he wanted them, and even this beautiful fox girl wasn’t even enough for him to feel satisfied. It made him anxious, more anxious than he’d ever been. He couldn’t describe the immense shame he felt over the fact that he lost his erection mid way. There was no way this… \n\nThe door opened, he stiffened up. Fuck, the cop was back. Scourge felt himself stand up, just to greet the other, though he was pretty weak in the knees. \n\n“... Well, don’t you look all nice and back gome… Pssh. How was your night?” He knew it’d be easier to spin the subject onto Zonic. Yes. much easier. \n\nZonic felt his heart sink at the sight of the other. Whatever he'd been trying to forget about tonight came crashing back at him full force. It almost choked him up. The question just made him delve even deeper into insanity. On one hand he was nervous to the point of wanting to jump out of the next window and run as fast as his feet could carry him. On the other hand he was now chin deep back in the memories of last night and while his body tensed up from nervosity his cheeks were nearly glowing in the dim light of the hallway.\n\n\"Good.\"\n\nIt was just one word. But it meant everything. Yeah his night had been good. He'd met an incredible, more or less new person. He'd danced in a club for the first time. Got picked up by a man for the first time. Had a one night stand for the first time. And had sex so good it'd momentarily made him forget Scourge's name. And now he had Zhadow's number on his communicator and a standing promise for a 'next time'. Zhadow knew about his situation and while he clearly disagreed with most of it (which, honestly, Zonic could completely understand) he still wanted him around. He was wanted by someone so... good. It felt like quite the accomplishment. And even though he was inexperienced he knew Zhadow had a good time with -him- as well. He knew, not only because he'd felt, seen and heard it, but also because he'd been honestly told so.\n\nHis night had been good.\n\nWhat slightly confused him was the... general lack of boasting and bragging coming from his roommate right now. Shouldn't he be proudly presenting him a beautiful white fox who could hardly stand on her two legs and brag about how damn good he was? That, at least, was sort of the scene he'd been mentally preparing for. But there was nothing. No white fox girl. No loud bragging accompanied by a sharp toothed grin.\n\nInstead Scourge was asking -him- for -his- night? Something wasn't right here.\n\nHe took off his shoes slowly, his eyes on Scourge. This was confusing. He'd prepared to he ridiculed and dumped, not for...whatever this was. So now he felt like a fish outta water. He had no idea how to deal with this. Instead he wished himself back into Zhadow's living room. Back to his half empty coffee cup. Back to rubbing his muzzle into the other's soft chest fur while being held so closely. Back to feeling safe and warm. But no. He had to clean up this mess.\n\nJust stick to the plan. Go home, get dumped, get over it, bring Scourge back to Zone jail as soon as possible. Except...\n\nHe looked Scourge up and down one more time. \"What happened?\" Now he was frowning, obviously suspicious. Maybe scourge felt bad because he was too rough on her and now he was stalling so he wouldn't see the damage he'd done. Maybe she was seriously hurt. Maybe she'd gotten angry with him and left. Or maybe he'd made a mess of the house in the process, broken furniture or something. Whatever it was, -something- didn't go as planned. \n\nThat was too fast that Zonic was able to catch on, too fast that he suspected something wasn’t right. Why was it that easy? The cop was supposed to look just as miserable, if not more. Scourge frowned, scoffing at him again. He crossed his arms and looked to the side, not really giving the other a second glance. He didn’t want to talk about his night… His ears lowered slightly, he had to lie. He needed so much to just get past this. He knew what he liked, what he wanted, this was a one time thing and he just … \n\n“You’re not gonna go into detail about your night? I mean you went out and all that.” He felt his fingers clench around his arms. This was… humiliating, and just to add salt into the room, the bedroom door opened up. Scourge perked up, seeing the white fox girl come out of the room without a shirt on, just in her panties. She looked at the other two and blinked. \n\n“Oh, you’re back.” she said, though she looked just as disappointed as Scourge did. “Hmmm, well, I’m ready to go back, now. Should’ve called you last night… Pretty uneventful.” \n\n“‘Uneventful’?” Scourge quickly asked, obviously upset at this. The girl turned to him, almost confused why he’d even ask. She didn’t say anything, this was a mess they needed to clean up. \n\n“Please take me back. I’m ready to go… unless you’re up to try one more time, free of charge, hun.” She turned to Scourge, hands on her hips as she gave him a concerned frown. Scourge felt himself blush, gritting his teeth now. He peeked at Zonic for a second only to turn away embarrassed. He hated this, it was so humiliating. Though she was giving him a second chance. A chance to show he was just as capable liking a woman, if not more. But… he wasn’t interested. She was there without a damn shirt yet all he felt was intense anxiety. He was unsure what to do. Even with Zonic there, he felt… stuck.\n\nZonic got even more suspicious as Scourge changed the topic again. \"Scourge, what-\" And then the fox came out of the bedroom. Topless. Zonic instantly turned away shielding his eyes with one hand. \"I... I'll call you a taxi. Please wear some clothes.\" He said, mildly troubled by the view. He felt like he'd seen something he shouldn't have seen.\n\nHe turned his back to the two of them and called a taxi. \"If you'd like a drink while you wait for the taxi the kitchen is right through there. My apologies for being an awful host but I need to talk to him for a moment. When you get back please tell Mama my greetings.\" He said a little rushed, grabbing Scourge's wrist and pulling him away from the poor girl who did nothing wrong and into the bedroom. He pushed the other into the room, shut and locked the door.\n\n\"Scourge, what... what's the meaning of all this?? Uneventful? -You-? Wait... waitwaitwait.\" He was rubbing his temples. No this was all wrong. This was not what he'd been preparing for at all. He was completely dumbfounded. By the sound and looks of it... Scourge somehow... couldn't do it? To the point where the hooker took pity on him and offered a second time free of charge???\n\nHe let his hands fall and looked at Scourge with a gaping mouth and a completely blank expression. \"You... but that's not possible. I don't... understand. You couldn't do it? But you're straight. You only care for girls and I was just... conveniently there and willing. You're supposed to laugh at my face and dump me.\" He was completely in shock. This wasn't helpful at all. What was he supposed to do -now-? He couldn't help intrusive thoughts such has 'was it because of me' and 'does that mean I win'?\n\nWhat made all of it even worse was the fact that Scourge looked absolutely miserable. \"Talk to me... please.\"\n\nTBC.","writing_bbcode_parsed":"
CHAPTER XXVI

Another reason they -could- be a good match, as they were definitely prone to such situations like this.

“That does sound like a nice thing to do.

“Scourge?” He asked, recognizing that name instantly.

Zhadow sat up, looking down at the other for a moment. Zonic should not be anywhere near someone like that, especially in the comfort of his own home…

----
Morning came a bit too slow.

Zonic slept like a rock through the whole night despite his strange dreams. still he was more than disappointed by the fact that he was alone when he finally woke up. He got up from the bed, surprised that he could walk completely normally despite the rather intense last night. Well there had been no pain this time so that explained that.

He left the bedroom looking for Zhadow and found him sitting in front of his laptop, sleeping on the desk. Otherwise Zhadow would get the wrong idea.

It was funny how reality managed to catch up with him that fast. He was nervous now and back to feeling sick.

He couldn't leave without clearing this up. Zhadow would get a completely wrong idea if he didn't. So he went to fetch a blanket from the couch, draping it over the Agent and snuck into the bathroom to get himself cleaned up.

All while trying to keep himself from a mental meltdown. When he came out of the shower his gaze fell on the desk instantly... but it was empty now, the laptop shut down. He clenched his fingers into the towel that he was carrying to rub his spines dry. He felt like he was going to get a taste of an elite agent's interrogation skills very soon.

He stirred, feeling something being put on him.

Zhadow was all about just getting work done, making things safer for everyone else.

Hearing the other come out, he noticed that the eggs were burning. He dumped them, a bit frantic with the way he had picked up the pan by the handle. He saw the other and set the pan down, turning off the fire.

“Good… morning.” He said in a low voice, turning away and frowned some. I swear I’m an okay cook.”

In all honesty Zonic was surprised that he wasn't being restrained and interrogated right now... Instead the other offered him a good morning and talked about breakfast. Ha. Zonic knew he couldn't eat anything right now. Even just swallowing his own saliva seemed unnecessarily difficult.

"Zhadow." He interrupted the other's ramblings about cooking. "Just ask. I saw the file on your laptop. You want to know, don't you? I'll tell you." He said quietly. He was still clinging to the towel, his ears were drooping ever so slightly but he was determined to come clean. No use trying to keep anything from an agent anyway.

He walked past the other, grabbing two cups of black coffee and pulling the dark Hedgehog along with him to the couch. He took a sip of his hot drink and tried to think of how to start this without making it worse. "So... yes. As you may know a prison guard's duty is to create peace, break up fights and protect the inmates from each other to keep the peace alongside the obvious job of keeping everyone from breaking out." He explained quietly, sipping some more of his coffee.

"I... acted on impulse. And after taking him with me I had responsibilities." He let out a deep sigh, drawing his knees underneath his chin, staring into his coffee.

"And then... I... started to sympathize with him. He -can- be nice company if you're around him enough. I don't know how it got physical." Now his muzzle was red. "Go on... tell me I'm making an awful mistake and that I'm sick for being addicted in that way to a criminal who treats me like a convenient whore free of charge. Tell me I'm pathetic for feeling lonely when he's not around... It'll all end today anyway. He just has to dump me one more time and I can move on." He ran his fingers into his own spines, terrified of Zhadow’s response.

That was a quality not many people had, but he could tell from this alone that Zonic was an honest man and he must have had his reasons for why he went ahead with this.

“That was irresponsible of you.

He set his mug down, patting Zonic’s knee. He wanted to end this on a less serious note, or at least give the other some advice. He couldn’t help but be very by the book over this, but to have someone so dangerous in the home when he was supposed to be behind bars… his sentence no longer meant anything.

“What happened after you brought him back, I would say is something bound to happen within any relationship if given time. But you must see good in all people, and for that it makes you a lot stronger than most.”

It was a weird way to take this conversation, but he meant it. He didn’t have such a luxury, but he wasn’t about to hope for something such as that. He was fine with how he was.

“It’s good you know your decision was quite… well… i’m sorry, but it was a very stupid thing to do. Are you.. Sure you’re okay with going back home to … well… that?”

Zonic cringed. "Damn hearing it from someone else feels awful." He mumbled leaning into the hand touching his cheek. "I'm sorry I disillusioned you..." He placed his cup on the table and looked at Zhadow. Guilt was written allover him. He knew he'd messed up. He knew what he was doing was wrong. What he didn't know was... how to clean it up.

"I can't bring him back there before the court is through that case and things have changed... otherwise the entirety of last month's chaos was for naught." He said quietly but determined. "Even -he- mocks me for being too soft." He gave Zhadow a slightly pained smile.

The thought of home made him groan quietly. "I'm gonna be fine. Because I met you... I'll be fine." He said, a lot more determined than before. "I'll go home, he'll tell me he had a great time with that hooker and is still straight and I'll be able to leave that behind me. I'll see that court case through... and then...send him back once I know he'll be safe there." He took Zhadow's hand in his and kissed his palm, looking up at him.

"If you'll still have me even though I'm an emotional idiot who can't help but act on impulses sometimes..." He let go of the hand and got off the couch to search for his clothes. After getting dressed he returned to Zhadow dangling his communicator in front of his face. "Give me your number? I've been promised wine. Probably to celebrate getting my mess sorted."

He frowned… this wasn’t what he was trying to say, with Zonic talking about himself like that.

“You made a mistake.

“There’s a chance he may not have had a good time.” He muttered, though he was only saying so because he worried Zonic would get sucked into this would-be relationship that just seemed to stress him out.

And yet he still felt some admiration for him.
“I know you’ll make the right choice… Whatever works best for you.” Part of him wanted to stop this till Scourge was behind bars for good, but he also felt Zonic may actually be right about the outcome when he got home. “Let’s get you back to your car…”

--

It didn’t take long because Zhadow had came back to the bar, seeing that Zonic’s car was still where it was left. He left the car on, knowing that it wouldn’t take long for them to separate.

“I had a nice time. And… yes, sometime soon we’ll need to either go out or you come back to my place.” He smiled, unlocking the doors. Chaos, he hoped that things went well… but in the very back of his mind he already knew this was going to get even messier than before.

Zonic got more nervous by the second while in the car. He was dreading what was to come even though he was a little less miserable. Still, once he saw his car he felt like running again. He looked at Zhadow and wrapped his arms around his neck one more time, kissing his cheek and then his lips sweetly. "I'll fix everything." He mumbled, more to get himself out of the anxiety.

"I had a nice time too... more than nice." He smiled and finally got out of the car. It was gonna be alright. Everything was gonna work out. He waved at Zhadow and got into his own car, sighing quietly as he started the engine. Why did it feel like he was riding to battle.

Instead of focusing on what was to come he remembered last night, He could still feel Zhadow's warm, gentle hands allover him. Chaos, that had been.... really good. He sure hoped he would get another chance to meet his surprisingly incredible coworker on one of his off days again.

He wrote a message to Scourge's communicator that he was coming home, and started driving. He'd wanted to call to make sure the other heard him... but he wasn't up to hear Scourge's voice just yet.

The drive took him about fifteen minutes before he pulled into his driveway and by the time he unlocked his front door he could feel his heart beating in his throat and his feet were tingling as if he was gonna start running any second now.

He didn't even dare make a sound as he stepped into the hallway to take off his shoes. He was gonna get dumped. It'd be okay. It'd be totally okay.

The send off was short and sweet but the obvious anxiety the other was riddled with definitely worried Zhadow.

---

What a night.

Scourge had too much going on in his head that he couldn’t come to explain.

Things went nicely at first, as it felt as though the night would end pretty well.

The body that laid underneath him was needy, filled with a lustful taste for green hedgehogs and opening up just for him.

“Zonic..” He huffed, though he wasn’t even aware of the name that just came out, his thrusting intensified. The fox girl pushed at him, making him stop.

“Excuse me?”

“What??”

“You just said ‘Zonic’. What the fuck is that all about?” Scourge frowned at her, almost insulted she’d lie to him to his face like that.

“I did not say that.”

“Yes. You did. You whispered it into my ear…! That’s saying something, boo.”

“...” Scourge scoffed, shaking his head and tried to continue.

It was a bit of a disaster. There was no way this…

The door opened, he stiffened up. Fuck, the cop was back. Scourge felt himself stand up, just to greet the other, though he was pretty weak in the knees.

“... Well, don’t you look all nice and back gome… Pssh. How was your night?” He knew it’d be easier to spin the subject onto Zonic. Yes. much easier.

Zonic felt his heart sink at the sight of the other. Whatever he'd been trying to forget about tonight came crashing back at him full force. It almost choked him up. The question just made him delve even deeper into insanity. On one hand he was nervous to the point of wanting to jump out of the next window and run as fast as his feet could carry him. On the other hand he was now chin deep back in the memories of last night and while his body tensed up from nervosity his cheeks were nearly glowing in the dim light of the hallway.

"Good."

It was just one word. He knew, not only because he'd felt, seen and heard it, but also because he'd been honestly told so.

His night had been good.

What slightly confused him was the... general lack of boasting and bragging coming from his roommate right now. Shouldn't he be proudly presenting him a beautiful white fox who could hardly stand on her two legs and brag about how damn good he was? That, at least, was sort of the scene he'd been mentally preparing for. But there was nothing. No white fox girl. No loud bragging accompanied by a sharp toothed grin.

Instead Scourge was asking -him- for -his- night? Something wasn't right here.

He took off his shoes slowly, his eyes on Scourge. But no. He had to clean up this mess.

Just stick to the plan. Go home, get dumped, get over it, bring Scourge back to Zone jail as soon as possible. Except...

He looked Scourge up and down one more time. "What happened?" Now he was frowning, obviously suspicious.

That was too fast that Zonic was able to catch on, too fast that he suspected something wasn’t right. He knew what he liked, what he wanted, this was a one time thing and he just …

“You’re not gonna go into detail about your night? I mean you went out and all that.” He felt his fingers clench around his arms. This was… humiliating, and just to add salt into the room, the bedroom door opened up. Scourge perked up, seeing the white fox girl come out of the room without a shirt on, just in her panties. She looked at the other two and blinked.

“Oh, you’re back.” she said, though she looked just as disappointed as Scourge did. “Hmmm, well, I’m ready to go back, now. Should’ve called you last night… Pretty uneventful.”

“‘Uneventful’?” Scourge quickly asked, obviously upset at this. The girl turned to him, almost confused why he’d even ask. She didn’t say anything, this was a mess they needed to clean up.

“Please take me back. Even with Zonic there, he felt… stuck.

Zonic got even more suspicious as Scourge changed the topic again. "Scourge, what-" And then the fox came out of the bedroom. Topless. Zonic instantly turned away shielding his eyes with one hand. "I... I'll call you a taxi. Please wear some clothes." He said, mildly troubled by the view. He felt like he'd seen something he shouldn't have seen.

He turned his back to the two of them and called a taxi. "If you'd like a drink while you wait for the taxi the kitchen is right through there. My apologies for being an awful host but I need to talk to him for a moment. When you get back please tell Mama my greetings." He said a little rushed, grabbing Scourge's wrist and pulling him away from the poor girl who did nothing wrong and into the bedroom. He pushed the other into the room, shut and locked the door.

"Scourge, what... what's the meaning of all this?? Uneventful? -You-? Wait... waitwaitwait." He was rubbing his temples. No this was all wrong. This was not what he'd been preparing for at all. He was completely dumbfounded. By the sound and looks of it... Scourge somehow... couldn't do it? To the point where the hooker took pity on him and offered a second time free of charge???

He let his hands fall and looked at Scourge with a gaping mouth and a completely blank expression. "You... but that's not possible. I don't... understand. You couldn't do it? But you're straight. You only care for girls and I was just... conveniently there and willing. You're supposed to laugh at my face and dump me." He was completely in shock. This wasn't helpful at all. What was he supposed to do -now-? He couldn't help intrusive thoughts such has 'was it because of me' and 'does that mean I win'?

What made all of it even worse was the fact that Scourge looked absolutely miserable. "Talk to me... please."

TBC.
","pools_count":1,"title":"Zonourge RP - CH.26","deleted":"f","public":"t","mimetype":"application/msword","pagecount":"1","rating_id":"0","rating_name":"General","ratings":[],"submission_type_id":"12","type_name":"Writing - Document","guest_block":"f","friends_only":"f","comments_count":"29","views":"123","sales_description":null,"forsale":"f","digitalsales":"f","printsales":"f","digital_price":""}
