And some pasta.","writing":"CHAPTER XVI\n\nZonic let out a small sigh watching Scourge put on the collar. He knew that thing was awful. \"I'll think about it. Maybe try to convince me that that's a good idea first though. So far you've done everything to convince me of the opposite...\" He said and followed Scourge to the door to open it. Watching the other storm away to the bedroom felt weird. Did he change his mind? Unlikely.\n\nInstead of getting his hopes up he took off his shoes first and his patience was 'rewarded' with the demand to make food.\"I'm not gonna start cooking at 3:40 in the morning you lunatic. And you're not eating in the bed either.\" He yelled back before he actually walked to the bedroom. \"So what's that here mean? When I offer you to share the bed you look at me as if I'd just said I was gonna cut your legs off and now you go to bed by yourself? If you think I'm sleeping on the couch you're sadly mistaken.\" He was too tired for this. Way too tired.\n\nSo he sat on the corner of the bed, watching Scourge closely. He was worried that if he teased the other too much he'd actually change his mind and move to the couch after all. Why did he even worry. He shouldn't be worrying like this. Scourge was free to move where he wanted to move. Nobody forced him to be here.\n\n\"Tell you what.\" He said, shoving Scourge to the other side of the bed so he had enough space to lay down nex to him. \"We get some more sleep, and in a few hours when I don't feel like I'm made of lead anymore I'll make some kind of food. Maybe some Pasta. Spaghetti carbonara. I don't know.\" he yawned pulling the blanket over both of them. \"If you wanna move to the couch there's bedding in that wardrobe.\" He mumbled into his cushion, blindly pointing at said wardrobe.\n\nThis felt nice though. There was life in his house again. Another body moving the mattress of his bed. Shared warmth underneath the big single blanket. He instantly felt 200 times sleepier than before, his eyes closing automatically.\n\n“Um... I’m not fuckin setting up that dumb couch bed for one. Otherwise I woulda stayed out there.” He turned to Zonic only to be shoved to the other side. He looked offended but was too tired to really care or do anything about it. He huffed at the other but kept his body relaxed against the bedding. He mumbled to himself, nothing too audible but the fact that things were back to whatever they were was good enough for him. \n\nThe way that Zonic even sounded content made him think that maybe the guy really was a heaping mess after Scourge was tossed into the cell. The way that Zally worries about him, the fact that Zonic seemed so happy suddenly, it was a little more easy to put two and two together. He didn’t think this was a crush, no, just that the cop was clearly lonely. \n\n“Suddenly you’re back to being a housewife ... promising food in the morning like the bitch you are.” Of course his time still didn’t scream mean spirited, but that’s what he did see. “Whatever I guess, I’m looking forward to it... still fuckin exhausted. I can’t believe you roundhouse kicked me, dude! Like jeez! My fuckin ribs feel like they’ll break off or something.” He rubbed at his chest then abdomen, trying to shift in a position that felt better. \n\n“Also... i can tell you missed me. I mean... not in a gay way or maybe it is but you missed havin me around... you’re glowing like you just fucked the hottest girl or something. Kinda weird and creepy but I guess it’s appreciated. Still, I’m just happy I’m not in that cell anymore. You wanna know how insanity forms just put yourself in that cell for two weeks and you’ll see... chaos I was losing my mind.” He pulled a pillow up and placed it on his face. “I still hate you for puttin me in there.”\n\nZonic grinned into the pillow, his eyes still closed. \"You -begged- me to act like a proper cop and punish you the way you deserve... and now you wanna complain about it?\" He mumbled followed by a small chuckle. It didn't bother him. Scourge could complain all he wanted. At this point it was all just hot air. Zonic knew, too, that Scourge had been losing his mind in there. Everyone would've. Solitary confinement wasn't the prison type of punishment for nothing. But he'd decided to not feel bad about it. After all, he'd only been fulfilling Scourge's wish not to be pitied or spoiled.\n\nThe phrase about being a housewife was ignored for now since it was followed by something more genuine. \"Sorry for the roundhouse kick I guess. You should've told me that you wanted me to hold back.\" He teased. \"Not that your constant dirty fighting was any better. I think if my back wasn't already completely blue it definitely would be now.\" He turned on his belly pressing his face into the pillow. Just in time to have his muzzle hidden from scourge's sight as he started talking again.\n\nYes he'd missed him. Was it that obvious? He'd taken such care to never show his exhaustion in front of Scourge. Was the green hedgehog just teasing him now? Or was it visible that he was happy to not be alone anymore??? 'you're glowing like you just fucked the hottest girl' He repeated the words in his mind. \"I didn't miss you. I was fine. There was just lots of work and that tired me out. I'm glad that's over now.\" He mumbled and turned his Back to Scourge. Of course he wasn't too sure how believable this story was considering Zally had clearly said that his exhaustion was connected to Scourge in a way. But then he just didn't care enough. He was gonna stick to his version. This was fine.\n\n\"You've only been a part of my life for a month. Don't thinks so highly of yourself.\" He got into a comfy position and squinted at his alarm clock. \"Sleep.” It was basically early morning but he needed to rest. Everything was in pain. \"And stop being so hung up about this 'gay' thing. What does it matter? I don't care if I or you are gay or bi or straight. We did what we did and it felt good. What does it matter. It's not like it'll cost you a limb. Why are you so hung up on it.?\" That one point had been confusing him for a while. In his head there was no difference. Why would it ever matter. There was just no logic behind it. But Scourge sure seemed adamant about it.\n\n“You went waaay farther than I expected. A simple chain to the ankle woulda been great.” He took in everything else that was being said, about ready to just ignore it all and fall asleep, but the last part did stick with him. He didn’t know why it was so important. He just felt it would be… weird or gross if he was anything like -that-. Whatever -that- entailed, he didn’t want it. What if he was like -that-?? He didn’t want to be. He was like -this-, straight like most people were. It made sense, it was for him. He gulped, frowning as he laid his head down. \n\n“... It doesn’t matter to you cause your virgin ass has never had a girl suckin your dick before…” He huffed and then shrugged. “Whatever then.” He turned his back to the other. Why did he mention that. For two weeks he was without anything like that, happily free from any lustful thoughts for such things and he mentions something like that. Chaos, he was dooming himself if he was going to be talking like that. He closed his eyes and snuggled up into the pillow. Sleep had never been so kind as it was tonight, it was almost like the snap of the fingers and he was out. He didn’t remember if he mumbled anymore responses or if Zonic had replied… all he knew was he was awake the next morning and his body was loudly aching. \n\nHe could tell that there was barely any place on him that was okay to move, how he just wanted to roll to his other side but it hurt. He frowned to himself, grunting as he struggled to get up. Wow, he probably would’ve been way more healed without this stupid collar on. He got off the bed, limping more than he had been in the previous days all the way to the bathroom. Getting there was easy, though using the bathroom and showering just felt like chores. Scourge didn’t wait up for Zonic, wanting to feel clean, wanting to eat, he just made himself at home. He was familiar with this place now, as if he’d been living here for a long while. He sat on the familiar couch and turned on the trusty tv. Scourge leaned back with cereal in hand and a spoon in his mouth. He felt so… at home. At least as much as he could. It was comfortable here. Never had he felt so happy to see the bland, boring walls. He sighed, relieved after he swallowed his first bite. He raised an arm in triumph, fist pumping the air. \n\nStill, he had the collar on, he was in pain and had no idea if he’d ever get back home or see anyone he knew again. It didn’t mess with him too bad but weighed in the back of his mind. He had no idea if he was… really okay with it or not. Zonic wasn’t that bad of a guy, an annoyance but nothing too frightening till he really got pissed. So far it wasn’t too bad when he was in the house, otherwise he hated it. Maybe this wouldn’t be the worst sentence for a good chunk of his life, just being obedient would be rather difficult. He didn’t count on good boy points to really help him out, but he was going to try to mellow out. No more of that fuckin’ cell. \n\nZonic slept a lot longer than Scourge did. He was pretty much out cold. Instinctively he rolled into the warm spot Scourge left behind when he got up but it didn't actually wake him. It was noon when he finally opened his eyes. He stayed a moment to wake up properly but then he forced himself out of bed. His arms and legs felt like lead. The pain was slowly fading though. He could imagine how bad Scourge felt.\n\nSo instead of showering first he shuffled into the livingroom and took a look over the couch to see what Scourge's leg looked like. It was a mess as expected. And with a tired yawn he pressed on his communicator while moving on to the kitchen.\n\n\"Dr. Prower's practice here, Stacy is my name how may I help you?\" The lady's voice over the communicator was awfully bored.\n\n\"Zonic here. I need Dr. Prower to visit, does he have time today?\"\n\n\"Oh Officer, of course. He'll have time in the later afternoon. Around 5pm maybe?\"\n\n\"Yeah I'll be here. Please tell him to bring something to brace a...really busted leg.\"\n\n\"Oh chaos, Officer, are you alright.\"\n\n\"Uhm. Yeah. It'll be fine. No worries, Stacy.\"\n\n\"Alright then 5pm at your house.\"\n\n\"Thank you. Goodbye.\"\n\n\"Goodbye.\"\n\nHe ended the call looking around in his kitchen. He put a pot of water on the stove to let it boil and walked back out of the kitchen and to the bathroom. He was sweaty and disgusting from yesterday's fight. There was blood drying on his face still and he was just a mess. Much less so than Scourge but he didn't look healthy anyway.\n\nA brief shower later he stopped smelling like sweat and dust, the blood from his face was gone and he put on some more comfortable clothes. A thin, more or less tight turtleneck sweater, comfy pants and warm socks. So now most of his bruises were hidden. Dr. Prower tended to be very worried very fast.\n\nThe water was boiling when he returned to it and he added noodles to it, setting up a second pot to cook the carbonara sauce, later, when the noodles were almost done.\n\nFor now he finally let himself flop down on the couch. He was already tired again from moving around.\n\n\"Good morning.\" It felt good to have someone to talk to again. To hear someone moving on the couch and the tv running in the background. He let out a sigh of relief. \"Hey you wanna hear something good?\" He asked, before pushing some buttons on his communicator, only for Scourge's collar to open with a faint clicking noise. \"I have to take the collar off of you for when the doc comes over. Because nobody can know that you're a prisoner obviously so... You'll just be my cousin for today. The collar comes back on when we go to sleep. It's kind of an exception today.\"\n\nHearing the blue hog get up, Scourge felt himself listen for his footsteps. He made no effort to look over or yell demands, he simply kept watching tv. His ear shifting every movement the other made as it kept track of his noises. It didn’t really matter to him what the cop was doing, as long as things remained really chill, he was fine. The sudden phone call, another girl’s voice but she sounded different than Zally. With the pacing and stove being turned on, the very subtle yet obvious sounds made Scourge curious what the other was doing. He hadn’t put his empty cereal bowl away yet, and felt that Zonic could easily take care of that since he was walking around. How could the guy move back and forth anyways?? \n\nBeing joined by his roomate, Scourge raised a brow at him.. Looking down at his rather beaten leg he scoffed for a moment. It hurt of course and he did hear ‘brace’, but he didn’t expect the collar to suddenly be in his lap. Looking down at the inhibitor, Scourge rubbed at his neck and then squinted at Zonic. \n\n“Is that… doctor coming now? This … well, whatever, I ain’t complainin’.” He crossed his arms and sank further into the couch, rolling his shoulders and shaking his head just to get extra comfy. “Morning or whatever… you’re making that pasta stuff, right? I mean I ate cereal but I can have more. Always have more.” He grinned, though the tv wasn’t all that interesting right now, so he switched the channel and tossed the remote over to the other. “Here, I can’t pick anything, I’ve been starin’ at the news for like a fuckin’ hour and there’s a high speed chase. Your alligator … crocodile?? Which… anyways, that guy’s chasing some crazy bitch with stolen money. Kinda mesmerizing…” He shrugged. “They’ve been at it for almost 40 minutes now.” He chuckled. “Poor thing is probably scared shitless, huh?” \n\n\"Uhm... no actually it'll be another five hours til he's free to come over... but it's not like you're in a condition to run away with that leg and I'm around all day so...I suppose it's fine.\" He said, shrugging. \"You better not complain, that's right.\"\n\nAt having the remote thrown at him he finally looked at the tv. \"Huh... Zector isn't the best at high speed chases, that's usually my job. 40 minutes, haha. I'm gonna change the channel that's gonna take him hours.\" He raised the remote and pointed at the tv zapping through the channels but as usual there wasn't anything really worth watching. \"I should buy a gaming console... or... rent some movies. I usually use the tv to listen to radio....\" He confessed, scratching the back of his head.\n\nHe switched on some sort of game show and put the remote away. \"There's nothing on as always.\" he forced himself to get back up, groaning quietly. \"Chaos I feel like I've been hit by a truck. We definitely have to do that again.\" He rolled his shoulders and stretched his arms before he vanished into the kitchen. Making the sauce hardly took 5 minutes.\n\n\"So I assume you wanted a plate too?\" He asked while he was already filling two plates with food. It was actually nice to cook again even though he just knew a handful of rather simple recipes. Nothing to brag about. But it was good enough to feed himself and scourge that much was for sure.\n\nWith two plates full of pasta he returned to the couch, handing Scourge a plate. He felt like he was starving. They'd been fighting for hours yesterday and he needed the energy desperately. He sat down next to scourge with his own plate, eager to start eating. He sat much closer than before. Their shoulders were nearly touching. He wasn't going to but he liked sitting that close. He liked sharing the bed. He just liked having someone around. Even the food seemed a lot more tasty when there was another person eating. If scourge was really gone one day he had to find a roommate or he'd just go back to being desperately lonely. Not that he had to think about that yet. Scourge wasn't going anywhere.\n\nAgain, he was being really… nice. Scourge frowned at the collar, then looked over at Zonic for a second. He didn’t want to say anything, he wasn’t allowed to. He just didn’t get it. After all the shit they put each other through yet Zonic continued to be nice like this. He didn’t deserve to have the collar taken off and he knew it, but this… kindness was annoying. Still, he wouldn’t bad mouth the action, just putting the collar on the table he stared at it for a moment again and then shrugged. \n“Obviously, car chases would be your job… but do you run on foot or use a less superior method like a fuckin’ car?” He pointed at how sad this was. “So fuckin’ SLOW! How do people ride in those all day thinkin’ they’re going so fast… they don’t know speed.” He scoffed. With the channel being switched, he attempted to cross his better leg over the lame one but winced. He pulled one of the couch pillows over and stashed it under his legs. It was… comfortable. \n\nOnce Zonic came back with a plate full of pasta, Scourge sat up, moving his legs off the couch and turned toward the coffee table. He was excited, it smelled divine. He licked his lips, picking up the bowl just before it was set down and began to eat. It was hot, he stuck out his tongue. Tears beading in the corners of his eyes as he tried to cool his mouthful of pasta down. He swallowed by the time he was able to chew properly and shook his head. It was good, this had to be done verbatim via recipe. From all the tv dinners he suffered, he was sure Zonic was still new to this cookin gig. Still, it tasted great, like gourmet to him. \n\n“Ah.. just always assume I’m hungry.” He said in between bites, finishing the bowl rather fast. He held it up to Zonic, just now noticing how close they were. What was with this cop?? He was definitely happy that Scourge was back, he could just...tell. He felt his cheeks flare up slightly, looking at the blue hedgehog for a moment. “I’m gonna get seconds.” He attempted to stand up, it proved to be quite the chore, but he managed to stand on his own two feet. He was a lot slower than before, but he needed to get up. Being so close to the other sort of made him feel a little uneasy. He wouldn’t let that stuff resurface. He had to remain a stone wall and not give in to any gutter-filled thoughts. “You made enough, right? Cereal doesn’t do shit and neither does one lil’ bowl of this … whatever it is!”\n\nZonic chuckled. As always watching Scourge eat was more than entertaining. \"You make the most mediocre food look like a gourmet meal, you know that? You're so honest when you're eating.\" It just made him want to cook more. It felt like an accomplishment. Somehow his home cooked food was the only thing Scourge never complained about. On the contrary, he always went and got seconds. It just felt good. It was the same feeling he had back in the day when he'd just become a cop. Whenever he helped someone, or got recognition for his work it felt like this. In the end he'd gotten hooked on this good feeling. He wanted to be the best cop. And he was. Now he was starting to think he should learn how to cook better but that was probably a silly thought.\n\n\"I made enough. Help yourself.\" He said calmly, and only now he actually started eating, himself. He'd been much too captivated by watching his roommate eat. Unfortunately he'd instantly looked away as Scourge had looked up to demand seconds, so he didn't see the blush. Now he was just looking at the tv again. Well, more like he was looking through the tv. He was lost in thought, eating his mediocre pasta. It was edible but nothing special. He was tempted to take Scourge to a fancy restaurant and buy him expensive food. Just to see his expression. If he was this much into some so-so pasta, how was he gonna react to a really good steak? He wanted to see it.\n\nAfter his bowl was empty he leaned his head back and looked at the ceiling. He could fall asleep again right here and now. As if he hadn't slept in years. He placed the bowl in his lap and closed his eyes. Just for a few seconds. He could daydream a little. Just a little.\n\n\"Scourge?\" He mumbled after he felt the Couch dent next to him again. \"Why did you become a criminal? Is it just because you're anti-sonic so you -have- to be his opposite, or did you make that choice yourself?\" He asked, his eyes still closed. He wondered if he was even gonna get an answer. It didn't really matter. He was just being curious.\n\nHe didn’t really need the okay to get more, he simply just got more for himself. Scourge took another bite, breathing harshly from the fact that the pasta was still too hot for him. He gulped, coming back to the livingroom and paused. \n\n“Wha...Why ya askin me that?” He sat at the couch, putting a tiny bit of distance between them yet it was still a bit close. “Um…” He frowned and shrugged. “It’s just… in me.” He never really gave it much thought till he met Fiona. She was bad by choice… he was just bad because he was born that way. In a sense, sure…He never really had a reason other than just ‘that’s just how i am.’ Scourge thought about it for a second, not really sure if that answer would really satisfy the cop, but it was pretty much all he had. \n\n“Eh… I just am that way. My dad was a worthless piece of shit that couldn’t keep his word. I guess it all kinda started with him. Being angry that he was never around and how he’d be doing all this shit for everyone else besides me. Part of me just felt the world was a lot better without him.” He smirked at his bowl for a second. “That gets me thinkin about how you kept saying I wasn’t a monster… I don’t think you know me well enough. I just do this because… that’s what makes me me.” He turned to the cop and glared at him for what felt like a long time… but then smiled a bit. “Pssh… I only knew people can choose to be like this outside of my zone. No one’s born a rebellious asshole like myself. Like Fiona, she just… chooses to cause it’s fun. I’m this way because, I -guess- by odd interdimensional laws, I’m the anti version of the Prime Sonic. There’s no other way to put it if you look at it that way. So there’s no hope in reforming me or teaching me to be a good boy, there’s no use in trying to get me to be any different.” \n\nIt kind of sucked in a way. He didn’t like that he was this way when seeing how the others were so… fuckin happy for reasons he couldn’t understand. But Scourge was unsatisfied with so many things, as if he was constantly searching for better ways to get what he wanted. He felt like this was a conversation that might dive into morality and shit he didn’t care about. \n\n“Anyways, It’s not a big deal. I don’t think we’d get anywhere on this topic. You and just about every other Sonic out there are wouldn’t ever agree with the way I am.” He shrugged. “So we should just drop it or something… Probably makin’ that justice-filled heart of yours cry. Someone very similar to you is everything you’re against.” Not like it mattered… he kinda wished he wasn’t doomed from the start, but he was also very content with the way he was. He leaned back into the couch. “I don’t know how we haven’t… well, I haven’t killed you yet.” He muttered. “I’m not interested, but I could have. In so many ways. You’re so comfortable with me, there’s no paranoia here anymore… to an extent, but I’m just assumin’.” \n\nZonic listened to Scourge talk, quietly. He'd kind of guessed as much. \"I wasn't going to preach you know... I'm just curious. You know my dad was never around either. He's still alive but we haven't spoken in 10 years. The only interaction I ever had with my parents was to be scolded for not having straight A's... So I guess I can somewhat relate. I never really cared though. I liked studying.... you probably don't care about my life story. Apologies.\"\n\nHe yawned again and slumped a little deeper into the couch. His eyelids felt like lead so he kept them closed. \"I stand by what I said though. You're not a monster. You do get choices in life and not all of your decisions are bad or wrong. Even though I do agree you are a bad egg. As you said yourself, you had countless chances to murder me in my sleep and you didn't. I don't have a reason to see you as a monster. You've never actually done anything bad to me personally. And... you're wrong. You're not everything I stand against at all. In fact your crimes are the only thing I stand against. But that's not all there is to you, or would you disagree?\"\n\nHe smiled and forced his eyes open. \"You know... this is one of these moments. Your collar is off. I had my eyes closed, my throat was wide open. And you didn't even think about it, did you?\" He shrugged and sat up straight again.\n\n\"But it doesn't matter. You're right. I was just curious if all of that mayhem was a conscious choice or just you, obeying cosmic laws. The one acting against cosmic law is me.....\" The last part was muttered softly enough to be easy to miss.\n\nHe forced himself to get up from the couch to bring his bowl into the kitchen, trying to think of what they could do with the rest of the day. Both of them were too sore to move so they were kind of stuck here. He remembered spending all his free days at home... but what had he been doing? Reading and more reading probably, or paperwork. He returned to the couch, flopping down next to Scourge again. Unconsciously he was closer to him again. \"What do people usually do at home all day long? I only ever read books.\" He asked, looking at Scourge with a mild frown. He really had no idea. TV was clearly way too boring and the weather wasn't nice enough to sit on the balcony either.\n\nTBC.","writing_bbcode_parsed":"
CHAPTER XVI

Zonic let out a small sigh watching Scourge put on the collar. He knew that thing was awful. "I'll think about it. Maybe try to convince me that that's a good idea first though. So far you've done everything to convince me of the opposite..." He said and followed Scourge to the door to open it. Watching the other storm away to the bedroom felt weird. Did he change his mind? Unlikely.

Instead of getting his hopes up he took off his shoes first and his patience was 'rewarded' with the demand to make food."I'm not gonna start cooking at 3:40 in the morning you lunatic. And you're not eating in the bed either." He yelled back before he actually walked to the bedroom. "So what's that here mean? When I offer you to share the bed you look at me as if I'd just said I was gonna cut your legs off and now you go to bed by yourself? If you think I'm sleeping on the couch you're sadly mistaken." He was too tired for this. Way too tired.

So he sat on the corner of the bed, watching Scourge closely. He was worried that if he teased the other too much he'd actually change his mind and move to the couch after all. Why did he even worry. He shouldn't be worrying like this. Scourge was free to move where he wanted to move. Nobody forced him to be here.

"Tell you what." He said, shoving Scourge to the other side of the bed so he had enough space to lay down nex to him. "We get some more sleep, and in a few hours when I don't feel like I'm made of lead anymore I'll make some kind of food. Maybe some Pasta. Spaghetti carbonara. I don't know." he yawned pulling the blanket over both of them. "If you wanna move to the couch there's bedding in that wardrobe." He mumbled into his cushion, blindly pointing at said wardrobe.

This felt nice though. There was life in his house again. Another body moving the mattress of his bed. Shared warmth underneath the big single blanket. He instantly felt 200 times sleepier than before, his eyes closing automatically.

“Um...

The way that Zonic even sounded content made him think that maybe the guy really was a heaping mess after Scourge was tossed into the cell. The way that Zally worries about him, the fact that Zonic seemed so happy suddenly, it was a little more easy to put two and two together. He didn’t think this was a crush, no, just that the cop was clearly lonely.

“Suddenly you’re back to being a housewife ... promising food in the morning like the bitch you are.” Of course his time still didn’t scream mean spirited, but that’s what he did see.

“Also... i can tell you missed me. I mean... not in a gay way or maybe it is but you missed havin me around... you’re glowing like you just fucked the hottest girl or something. “I still hate you for puttin me in there.”

Zonic grinned into the pillow, his eyes still closed. "You -begged- me to act like a proper cop and punish you the way you deserve... and now you wanna complain about it?" He mumbled followed by a small chuckle. After all, he'd only been fulfilling Scourge's wish not to be pitied or spoiled.

The phrase about being a housewife was ignored for now since it was followed by something more genuine. "Sorry for the roundhouse kick I guess. You should've told me that you wanted me to hold back." He teased. "Not that your constant dirty fighting was any better. I think if my back wasn't already completely blue it definitely would be now." He turned on his belly pressing his face into the pillow. Just in time to have his muzzle hidden from scourge's sight as he started talking again.

Yes he'd missed him. "I didn't miss you. I was fine. There was just lots of work and that tired me out. I'm glad that's over now." He mumbled and turned his Back to Scourge. Of course he wasn't too sure how believable this story was considering Zally had clearly said that his exhaustion was connected to Scourge in a way. But then he just didn't care enough. He was gonna stick to his version. This was fine.

"You've only been a part of my life for a month. Don't thinks so highly of yourself." He got into a comfy position and squinted at his alarm clock. "Sleep.” It was basically early morning but he needed to rest. Everything was in pain. "And stop being so hung up about this 'gay' thing. What does it matter? I don't care if I or you are gay or bi or straight. We did what we did and it felt good. What does it matter. It's not like it'll cost you a limb. Why are you so hung up on it.?" That one point had been confusing him for a while. In his head there was no difference. Why would it ever matter. There was just no logic behind it. But Scourge sure seemed adamant about it.

“You went waaay farther than I expected.

He could tell that there was barely any place on him that was okay to move, how he just wanted to roll to his other side but it hurt.

Still, he had the collar on, he was in pain and had no idea if he’d ever get back home or see anyone he knew again.

Zonic slept a lot longer than Scourge did. He could imagine how bad Scourge felt.

So instead of showering first he shuffled into the livingroom and took a look over the couch to see what Scourge's leg looked like. It was a mess as expected. And with a tired yawn he pressed on his communicator while moving on to the kitchen.

"Dr. Prower's practice here, Stacy is my name how may I help you?" The lady's voice over the communicator was awfully bored.

"Zonic here. I need Dr. Prower to visit, does he have time today?"

"Oh Officer, of course. He'll have time in the later afternoon. Around 5pm maybe?"

"Yeah I'll be here. Please tell him to bring something to brace a...really busted leg."

"Oh chaos, Officer, are you alright."

"Uhm. Yeah. It'll be fine. No worries, Stacy."

"Alright then 5pm at your house."

"Thank you. Goodbye."

"Goodbye."

He ended the call looking around in his kitchen. He put a pot of water on the stove to let it boil and walked back out of the kitchen and to the bathroom. He was sweaty and disgusting from yesterday's fight. There was blood drying on his face still and he was just a mess. Much less so than Scourge but he didn't look healthy anyway.

A brief shower later he stopped smelling like sweat and dust, the blood from his face was gone and he put on some more comfortable clothes. A thin, more or less tight turtleneck sweater, comfy pants and warm socks. So now most of his bruises were hidden. Dr. Prower tended to be very worried very fast.

The water was boiling when he returned to it and he added noodles to it, setting up a second pot to cook the carbonara sauce, later, when the noodles were almost done.

For now he finally let himself flop down on the couch. He was already tired again from moving around.

"Good morning." It felt good to have someone to talk to again. To hear someone moving on the couch and the tv running in the background. He let out a sigh of relief. "Hey you wanna hear something good?" He asked, before pushing some buttons on his communicator, only for Scourge's collar to open with a faint clicking noise. "I have to take the collar off of you for when the doc comes over. Because nobody can know that you're a prisoner obviously so... You'll just be my cousin for today. The collar comes back on when we go to sleep. It's kind of an exception today."

Hearing the blue hog get up, Scourge felt himself listen for his footsteps.

Being joined by his roomate, Scourge raised a brow at him.. Looking down at his rather beaten leg he scoffed for a moment. It hurt of course and he did hear ‘brace’, but he didn’t expect the collar to suddenly be in his lap. Looking down at the inhibitor, Scourge rubbed at his neck and then squinted at Zonic.

“Is that… doctor coming now? “Poor thing is probably scared shitless, huh?”

"Uhm... no actually it'll be another five hours til he's free to come over... but it's not like you're in a condition to run away with that leg and I'm around all day so...I suppose it's fine." He said, shrugging. "You better not complain, that's right."

At having the remote thrown at him he finally looked at the tv. "Huh... Zector isn't the best at high speed chases, that's usually my job. 40 minutes, haha. I'm gonna change the channel that's gonna take him hours." He raised the remote and pointed at the tv zapping through the channels but as usual there wasn't anything really worth watching. "I should buy a gaming console... or... rent some movies. I usually use the tv to listen to radio...." He confessed, scratching the back of his head.

He switched on some sort of game show and put the remote away. "There's nothing on as always." he forced himself to get back up, groaning quietly. "Chaos I feel like I've been hit by a truck. We definitely have to do that again." He rolled his shoulders and stretched his arms before he vanished into the kitchen. Making the sauce hardly took 5 minutes.

"So I assume you wanted a plate too?" He asked while he was already filling two plates with food. It was actually nice to cook again even though he just knew a handful of rather simple recipes. Nothing to brag about. But it was good enough to feed himself and scourge that much was for sure.

With two plates full of pasta he returned to the couch, handing Scourge a plate. Scourge wasn't going anywhere.

Again, he was being really… nice.
“Obviously, car chases would be your job… but do you run on foot or use a less superior method like a fuckin’ car?” He pointed at how sad this was.

Once Zonic came back with a plate full of pasta, Scourge sat up, moving his legs off the couch and turned toward the coffee table.

“Ah.. just always assume I’m hungry.” He said in between bites, finishing the bowl rather fast. Cereal doesn’t do shit and neither does one lil’ bowl of this … whatever it is!”

Zonic chuckled. As always watching Scourge eat was more than entertaining. "You make the most mediocre food look like a gourmet meal, you know that? You're so honest when you're eating." It just made him want to cook more. And he was. Now he was starting to think he should learn how to cook better but that was probably a silly thought.

"I made enough. Help yourself." He said calmly, and only now he actually started eating, himself. He wanted to see it.

After his bowl was empty he leaned his head back and looked at the ceiling. He could fall asleep again right here and now. As if he hadn't slept in years. He placed the bowl in his lap and closed his eyes. Just for a few seconds. He could daydream a little. Just a little.

"Scourge?" He mumbled after he felt the Couch dent next to him again. "Why did you become a criminal? Is it just because you're anti-sonic so you -have- to be his opposite, or did you make that choice yourself?" He asked, his eyes still closed. He wondered if he was even gonna get an answer. It didn't really matter. He was just being curious.

He didn’t really need the okay to get more, he simply just got more for himself. Scourge took another bite, breathing harshly from the fact that the pasta was still too hot for him. He gulped, coming back to the livingroom and paused.

“Wha...Why ya askin me that?” He sat at the couch, putting a tiny bit of distance between them yet it was still a bit close.

“Eh… I just am that way. So there’s no hope in reforming me or teaching me to be a good boy, there’s no use in trying to get me to be any different.”

It kind of sucked in a way.

“Anyways, It’s not a big deal. You’re so comfortable with me, there’s no paranoia here anymore… to an extent, but I’m just assumin’.”

Zonic listened to Scourge talk, quietly. He'd kind of guessed as much. "I wasn't going to preach you know... Apologies."

He yawned again and slumped a little deeper into the couch. His eyelids felt like lead so he kept them closed. "I stand by what I said though. But that's not all there is to you, or would you disagree?"

He smiled and forced his eyes open. "You know... this is one of these moments. Your collar is off. I had my eyes closed, my throat was wide open. And you didn't even think about it, did you?" He shrugged and sat up straight again.

"But it doesn't matter. You're right. I was just curious if all of that mayhem was a conscious choice or just you, obeying cosmic laws. The one acting against cosmic law is me....." The last part was muttered softly enough to be easy to miss.

He forced himself to get up from the couch to bring his bowl into the kitchen, trying to think of what they could do with the rest of the day. Both of them were too sore to move so they were kind of stuck here. He remembered spending all his free days at home... but what had he been doing? Reading and more reading probably, or paperwork. He returned to the couch, flopping down next to Scourge again. Unconsciously he was closer to him again. "What do people usually do at home all day long? I only ever read books." He asked, looking at Scourge with a mild frown. He really had no idea. TV was clearly way too boring and the weather wasn't nice enough to sit on the balcony either.

TBC.
","pools_count":1,"title":"Zonourge RP - CH.16","deleted":"f","public":"t","mimetype":"application/msword","pagecount":"1","rating_id":"0","rating_name":"General","ratings":[],"submission_type_id":"12","type_name":"Writing - Document","guest_block":"f","friends_only":"f","comments_count":"13","views":"141","sales_description":null,"forsale":"f","digitalsales":"f","printsales":"f","digital_price":""}
