Her notoriety and consistently high-level play earned her an invite to Evo for two of her favorite games, and thanks to some surprisingly generous competitors she was able to make the trip to the penultimate fighting game tournament. She had practiced her mains against every conceivable matchup. She was ready to prove herself in front of the world. Saturday was the preliminary rounds. The draw was relatively kind to her, keeping her away from most of the so-called killers in the bracket. As such her path to finals on Sunday was laughably easy, particularly in her main game. At the end of the day she was feeling supremely confidant, and the amount of salt she had heaped on her from other players that had definitely fueled her bravado as well... The top 8 of Killer Instinct was ShadowCat’s first time on stream and in front of a massive crowd. She was nervous the first time she stepped on stage, but her determination to make a good showing on this, the biggest of stages, drove her on. Unfortunately, that would be the least of her worries as the day went on... When she stepped on stage for the first time, she heard a murmur go through the crowd. Most of the adult male audience seemed confused by her appearance. Many in the audience were asking if this was some kind of joke... When she later dominated her opponent in the match, the crowd began questioning her... She quickly understood now why some pro gamers wore headphones when playing in tournaments... Each of her concurrent matches her appearance on stage was met with a chant of “Trap!”; the further she advanced, the louder their taunting voices got. It was sickening, completely taking the satisfaction out of her third place finish in her favorite game... During the intermission before the beginning of the Mortal Kombat top 8 Carol spent the whole time fuming. Boys were such fucking idiots...! Carol found herself dreading going back to the stage for the next game. She wasn’t sure how much longer she could endure the crowd’s idiotic, misogynistic harassment. But her pride wouldn’t let her back down now. Steeling herself, she walked out behind her opponent for her first match. Before she even stepped on the stage she could hear their chanting, “Trap! Trap! Trap!” But she had finally had enough. She would show those fucking morons that she was a girl once and for all...! Before she could stop to think about what she was doing, she had pulled her shirt up in one hand and her skirt down in the other, shouting in indignant rage “Does THIS look like a dick to you?!” Suddenly the tournament was the last thing on anyone’s mind...\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t | \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
So, this is the story of Carol’s first (and possibly last) live tournament. I doubt the organizers of these kind of events are likely to want to risk that kind of episode repeating itself... The “ShadowCat Flash” as it came to be known did end up opening a lot of doors for the kitten, though not necessarily in the venue of gaming.
This picture is the reason Carol exists. I’ve seen a few streams with talented female gamers and this kind of thing is sadly quite typical (minus the outraged flashing of course). And yeah, I just couldn’t help but make a statement on this. And being me, this was the only logical way to do it...! Anyway, her future as a gamer and a girl should be quite fun to play with. Although, admittedly, it’s a struggle to keep her virginity intact. She’s just so damn cute...
