Ruthless aggression, amazing reads and high-risk maneuvers are the hallmark of the player known as ShadowCat. This player came seemingly from nowhere to suddenly being considered one of the elite fighting game players in the world, dominating many an online tournament. Very little is actually known about the player behind the gamertag, but rumors have begun to circulate that ShadowCat is actually a little kid, even worse a girl...
Though most of her opponents don't want to believe the rumors, ShadowCat is in fact a young girl. Her real name is Carol Prowler and she is 9 years old. As a cub, she and her twin brother Glenn played a lot of games against one another. A particular favorite of the two kittens was Street Fighter. At first Glenn was much better than Carol, especially at fighting games, but Carol's competitive nature drove her to study the game with single-minded determination not to lose to her brother anymore. She began to really understand the nature and mechanics of the game and fighting games in general, and in doing so gained a love for the genre.
Carol's skill level now vastly outshines anyone she knew and she turned her attention to the online stage. Frame data, matchup knowledge, these things became more and more natural to her, and the new level of competition would only push those skills higher. Adopting the name ShadowCat from a character in one of her brother's comics, she became a force to be reckoned with in the fighting game community.
Her aggressive playstyle and competitiveness make her very outgoing and playful. She has no trouble making friends her own age, though usually with boys rather than girls. The internet forum has given her an unusually high, if somewhat warped, knowledge of sexuality. She is more or less shameless (a trait that seems to run in the Prowler family) and loves to tease her boy friends, though she doesn't really have any interest in going any further than that. She loves to play other people's perceptions against them, making full use of her cuteness and to her advantage. The girl seems destined to leave more than a few broken hearts (and spirits) in her wake, knowingly or otherwise...
So I've always wanted to make this character in one form or another. She shares my very real passion for fighting games (and unlike me, she's actually really good at them...). Then, a few weeks ago I was watching the KI Cup stream and one of the girls present was putting the boys to shame. What really struck me about that though was how stupid and misogynistic the chat got throughout her matches. There was no doubt after that that I needed this character. So prepare yourselves, pitiful virginal man-children, as your pride is about to be mortally wounded by an adorable little girl...!
I'm going to make an attempt to keep her from anything too lewd (though there will definitely be a lot of nudity and teasing). I'll be making a point to explore the plight of the gamer girl. Also, her color scheme was taken from an old pony OC of mine by the name of Allegro. I might see if I can take some of her personality as well.
Her connection to the rest of the Prowler family will be explored more thoroughly in time. She and her brother are Jynx and Sara's aunt and uncle, despite only being two years older than them; they are the children of Kai's mother's younger sister.
