The couple pulled all three from the foster/orphan care system and have become a close knit, caring family. The Marcus and Lilly came from pretty rough backgrounds rife with neglect and abuse. Marcus, 9, was their first kit. Adopted 2 years ago, Marcus has mild autism spectrum and was beaten and raped mercilessly by his father for his "retarded behavior", leaving the kit non-verbal, terrified of any touch, withdrawn and having no confidence in anything he tried to do. In the two years since he was adopted, he's still struggling with reading and speaking but has come out of his shell, is beginning to get better at social activities with other kits. Even though he's still easily overwhelmed, with sudden movements and sharp noises tend to trigger panic reactions, he no longer runs and hides, but tends to cling to one of his two dads. The lamb, Lilly, is the youngest at 6, and was adopted by the Lockets last year, has a slightly less tragic tale. Her mother had a serious substance addiction and often took her chemical laden/lacking frustrations out on her daughter. Lily was kept out of the school system leaving her way, WAY behind in her education and often went hungry as her mother's addiction was more important than her "Masters damned mistake of a daughter". A neighbor, who never even knew Lilly existed, noticed the kit through a window one day during a particularly bad beating and called KPS. Her mother overdosed three days later after getting out of jail on a bond. Since being adopted, Lilly has gone from being a frightened, jumpy, kit of ragged, filthy, wool, pelt, and bones into an intelligent, caring, outgoing kit who loves meeting beasts she doesn't know yet and making them new friends, hates clothes and is often extremely demanding when it comes to having fun and even more stubborn about calling it quits when she's having a good time on the playground. Finally, the piglet, Rose, 10, is the newest addition to the family and was adopted officially last month fter being fostered for 10 months, the Lockets decided to adopt her instead of letting the foster care system start shuffling her around. Instead of picking her up from school, Rose's parents had disappeared. Their car, and any kind of documents in their house were simply gone with the front door left wide open. No reports of their license plate being seen on the road, no beasts, living or dead, matching their description were ever found, they never tried to contact their daughter. Nothing. They simply vanished into thin air. Aside from getting extremely quiet and sullen when asked ANY kind of questions about her parents, Rose seems pretty normal, good grades, helps around the house, plays well with her new siblings.
