The year’s final days always seemed to bury the whole office in jobs that should have been submitted weeks earlier. But it was all finally over, and a nice relaxing week vacation was ahead of him. He gazed around the relatively barren apartment. His television hadn’t been turned on for days, the desk was gathering dust, even the book he kept next to his chair hadn’t moved in days. “Mmm, I should clean up more,” the wolf-lion hybrid told himself as he sat in the silence.\nA sudden knock on his door made him jump. Almost nobody came to visit him, and his neighbors rarely bothered him. Torsten groaned as his tired body stood up and walked to the door. He looked through the peephole, only to see a light gray shirt. Whoever was on the other side of the door was tall. Very tall. ‘Wish I could tell who it was,’ he thought as he opened the door just enough to see through.\nThe sight shocked him. An amazonian-sized woman stood there. Her bright orange fur mixed with strips of black and white clearly marked her as a tiger, with long black hair brushed smooth and straight down her back, a few strands in front of her shoulders. Her face was stoic, cold even, with icy blue eyes staring down at him. “Tory,” she said softly, almost a whisper.\n“C-Catherine?” Torsten was shocked to see his cousin at his home. “Um, what brought you here?”\nCatherine placed her massive hand on the door and pushed it open like Torsten wasn’t even holding it. He could now see she had a briefcase behind her as she walked inside, ducking to avoid the top of the frame. He closed it as his cousin scanned the room. “It’s messy,” She said as she put her briefcase against the wall.\n“I haven’t gotten a chance to clean with work,” Torsten explained as he looked her over.\nShe was still so much taller than him, just like when they were younger. Her breasts and hips had also kept with her size, a perfect ratio that made her huge body seem almost natural. But he couldn’t get caught up with her looks. “So what brought you here?”\n“You.” Catherine walked around his small apartment. The tiger checked everything as Torsten silently watched, his heart rate increasing as he tried to think what she meant. ‘Did something happen with the family? Does she need help? Could she not look through my drawers!’\n“I’ve decided. You need someone to look after you. You’ve let yourself get too lax,” Catherine declared as she turned to Torsten.\n“Hey, I’m doing fine,” he said, crossing his arms.\n“No, you’re not. Your refrigerator is nearly empty. Your dishes are as unused as your desk. Your bed and laundry are a mess. And,” she stepped closer, her cold stare made Torsten feel smaller, “your still single and clearly in need of a woman.”\n‘Is she still hooked on that!?’ Torsten sighed mentally.\nHe recalled when they met at a family reunion. Catherine was three years older than him and always kept him close. She had apparently gotten very attached when she saw him when he was a baby, calling him her little brother. As an only child, it was nice thinking of his cousin as a sister growing up. So they stayed close even between holidays and family gatherings. When Torsten had just turned ten, Catherine pulled him to the side and made him a promise, something he didn’t think would ever come up. “If you don’t get married when you grow up, I’ll be your wife.”\nTorsten never thought about it much afterwards, but she started to make more affectionate displays towards him ever since she matured.
