The series came about when my Co-scripter came up with the idea for stories set five or so years after the end on Inheriting the Line. Each explored an ‘exception’ to the rules of the world I’d established; as he likes to do, and is quite good at it. Reading what he’d come up with was fun, and those exceptions didn’t actually break any rules, so I told him that if he wrote outlines, I’d write the stories, and that they would be cannon.

It was a fan fiction stuck in the "eternal world building" phase that you I told you about and you eventually made my jaw drop off when you said you'd write it if I gave you a proper outline.
Which is half the reason all the cast of the first book are detailed as [censored]; the other half is that you're just very good at writing characters.
And here it is.
Book one focuses on Thomas Hertz, an ordinary rat from an upper middle class family in his first year of university, looking to move out to escape his helicopter father. When the opportunity to join the exclusive, and sex charged Sigma Theta Gamma frat house is handed to him, he jumps on the chance and enjoys all the benefits being around all those guys brings, even if some of them can be odd at times.
Then there’s a flash fire in the kitchen and Thomas has no idea how he and the guy he was having sex with there, escape it unscathed, but the others seem to. Something about an initiation, and that the house leader needs to deal with it. But when Henry shows up, with his talks of making all of Thomas’s worry go away, the freak-factor only goes ever higher and Thomas really wants to get out of there. But with the door closed, and his bedroom being on the second floor of the frat, it looks like he isn’t going to escape the bat trying to bite his neck.
Until he finds himself outside, in the dead of winter, without any idea how he got there, and with his frat brother hunting him down.
