the sound of heavy machinery running could be heard outside. the room was dark and slightly damp, cold too... it looked like the basement to a kind of warehouse... there were even long horizontal windows on the walls near the "roof" which looked out to the ground above. these were coated in black paint however, and the stench still filled the room. over the noise of the large machines outside, was the sound of someone breathing. quietly at first, but it grew louder and faster as the being regained consciousness... in the middle of the room was a large stainless steel table. it's legs cut short to lower it. on top of the table laid the now semi-conscious being, a gangly anthropomorphic cat. tabby, by the looks of it. bits of his orange striped fur were stained with dried blood, presumably his own. the cat stirred awake, the damp air hastening his revival. the tabby attempted movement, but soon discovered his arms and legs were bound to the table. upon looking around, he noticed a series of long metal rods pointing towards his body. each pointed towards a different pressure point, and it looked as if each had its own industrial-strength wire connected to it. each rod was only a few centimeters from his body, the cat assumed. suddenly the tabby felt an electric shock, which appeared to emanate from the rod centered above his left shoulder. the shock itself didn't seem to have much more voltage than one you'd get from static electricity. "GAHH! what the fuck?!?" the tabby struggled aimlessly at his bonds. even though he knew it was fruitless. "don't even bother with that... your limbs are secured by brand new belted leather cuffs... they won't come loose, and they won't break apart... so don't even waste your energy..." the head of a dark grey coloured Wolf appeared in front of the Tabby's face... "so right now is when the classic villain explains why you're here, what the machine does, and his entire plot... but i've seen enough action movies and i know that just never works out... heh" the wolf pressed a button on the remote in his paws and another jolt of electricity shot through the tabby's body. this time it originated from the rod focused on the bottom-center of his right hindpaw. the unfortunate victim screamed in pain. the voltage had clearly gone up. he panted heavily as his eyes teared up. "why are you doing this? i've done noting wrong! i'm an honest worker and i've never even met you!" he pleaded, hoping for an answer. the wolf just shook his head. "my friend, of course you don't know me... hell... i barely even know you... and i couldn't give a damn what you have or havn't done... some people just want to watch the world burn." an evil grin spread across his muzzle as he pressed another button. another jolt of electricity shot through the tabby, originating this time from the rod next to his temples. he screamed in pain once more. the voltage had increased again. "stop... please... i can pay you... i'll give you anything!" the tabby pleaded. hoping for an ounce of compassion from the wolf... unknown to him, he had picked the wrong creature to expect compassion from. "money? you really think i want money from you? lemme explain why that's a stupid concept. A..." he pressed another button, sending more electricity coursing through the tabby. "if i wanted your money i would just take it from you after you're DEAD... B..." another jolt of electricity shot through the cat, who desperately tried not to scream in pain. he figured that showing any form of pain or weakness would only make the torture worse... and he was right "i really couldn't care less about money... but maybe i'm just crazy... after all... my last psych evaluation says i am!" the wolf sends yet another bolt of electricity through his victim. he sets the remote up to a computerized interface. "this machine will now send jolts of electricity through your body at random intervals, at varying voltages. now since volts are non-lethal it'll just hurt like hell... after three days it'll automatically increase the amps to a deadly level and kill you..." he pulls a stand with a medium-sized water tank on it right above the tabby's mouth and turns a small valve, causing it to slowly drip water. "this rig will stop you from dying of thirst. i suggest you drink. if you let the water run down your body the electricity will just hurt more... goodbye now" the wolf left the tabby's field of vision. the frightened feline looked up as far as he could, searching for his tormentor. "WAIT! DON'T LEAVE ME HERE!!! YOU FUCKER!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!" another wave of electricity shot through the cat. the wolf smirked sadistically and left the warehouse. he took a deep breath of the fresh night air. "such great weather... god i love the summers here..." he walked off quietly into the night. the terrified tabby laid on his new stainless steel home. crying uncontrollably. regrets of everything he had and hadn't done flowed through his mind. interrupted occasionally by the machine he was connected to. he struggled aimlessly at his bindings, trying to get free. a series of shocks pierced his body in a short amount of time. the tabby silently cursed the wolf's contraption. as ingenious as it may be, it was a thing of evil and death. dejected, the tabby gave up on his bonds. he had no idea how he was going to get free, and he couldn't just accept his fate thanks to the water drip and the intermittent shocks he received. he screamed as loud as he could in frustration. he could still hear the sounds of heavy machinery outside his cell. he screamed at the top of his lungs over and over again. hoping for the slim chance that someone would hear him. for the next several hours he attempted breaking his bonds and screaming to attract attention, but to no avail. his wrists were bleeding profusely, rubbed raw from the leather. the next day, the wolf returned. "you know tabbs... i've been thinking... maybe telling you when and how you were gonna die, and you ARE gonna die, was a bad idea. then you could prepare yourself for the inevitable. so i figured i'd stop by and change it up a little... cause some chaos. what do you think of that?" he grinned evilly the tabby spat, hoping to hit the wolf in the face "i think you should go fuck yourself!" the feline watched as the wolf drew a long rusted knife from a wooden block nearby. "not the answer i was looking for." he stabbed the tabby twice. once in the side, piercing his spleen and kidney, and once in the stomach. both would cause him to bleed out slowly. "you're staying connected to the shock rig" he said as he walked off into a corner, where he sat down in a chair to watch his victim die.
