If hungry enough, the drider will proceed to pierce the cocoon right there and suck the victim dry slowly, and if the prey are unlucky enough they will be still alive to suffer it. Thankfully in most cases the victim expired long before the process begins. If the venom is strong enough they can be gone in a matter of minutes.\n\nLastly, the dried remains are not left to rot, and are instead sucked into the drider's abdomen for further processing into nutrients, while the discarded cocoon will be the one left for the plants or small animals daring enough to eat it. Depending on the drider the nutritional value will vary significantly, and even its edibility.
