Two small figures appear from under one the few small trees that litter the courtyard. The figures suddenly dart out from underneath the tree, the moonlight shining off the white fur of the two small fennec fox boys as they ran as fast as they could toward the front gate and barely squeezing between the gaps between its bars. The older of the two taking his brother by the paw as they dash into dark city streets. Neither of the boys were sure of where they were headed, but as long as they were as far away from the orphanage, neither cared.\n\n“Brother... can we stop? I'm... so tired...” Vince whined, his footpaws stinging and his eyes getting heavier. “Okay Vince, let's rest here.” Winter said as he loosened his grip on his little brother's paw. The two boys sat against the wall of one of the many tall city buildings, breathing heavily as they try to catch their breath. Vince whimpered as the cold night air sent chills through his small body. Winter, noticing his brother shaking and whimpering from the cold, wraps his arms around him, pulling him in close and keeping him as warm as he can. “Th-thank you brother...” Vince whispers as he leans in to his brothers warm embrace. \n\nVince looks up into his brother's loving brown eyes and speaks up again “...what are we gonna do now? Where are we supposed to go?” Winter stares back down into his little brothers bright blue eyes, seeing the worried expression on his face. “I don't know... But I promise I’ll think of something Vince, try and get some sleep 'kay?” Vince nods and rests his head on his brother's chest, comforted from hearing Winter's heartbeat for the first time since they were taken to the orphanage. Winter gently pets his little brother's head as he relaxes, smiling as the smaller cub slowly drifts off to sleep. “Goodnight Vince, I promise you things will get better soon...” Adjusting himself as carefully as possible, he falls asleep as well with his brother in his arms.\n\nWinter opens his eyes wearily as the sun shines down warmly on the two brothers. He yawns and rubs his eyes, letting them adjust to the light. He looks down at his little brother, still clinging to Winter, fast asleep. Winter smiles and gently pets Vince's head as his stomach lets out a low rumble. Knowing they needed to find food soon, he gently wakes Vince from his sleep. “Mmmngh... Morning big brother.” Vince says, letting out a small yawn. “Morning Vince, did you sleep well?” Winter asks, giving Vince a rub between his ears. “Mhm!” Vince replies happily, as his belly gives off a low rumble as well. Winter smiles and bumps his nose with Vince's. “Let's go see if we can find somethin' to eat 'kay?” Winter says as the two stand up and stretch. Vince nodding his head in agreement, he takes his brother's paw as he leads them both off into the city streets to find something to eat.\n\nSoon the boys wander into an old alleyway, neither of them sure where they were anymore. Suddenly they hear the sound of laughter coming from behind a door nearby. The door opens and a couple rough looking males step out into the alleyway, obviously drunk from their slurred speech and abnormal laughter. The boys watch as the men stumble and try to walk, trying to keep out of sight from behind a nearby dumpster. Soon one of the men notices the two cubs peeking from behind the dumpster and grabs Vince by the wrist, the other grabbing Winter by the hair.\n\nThe one holding Winter by the hair grins darkly “What do we have here? A couple nosy little brats lost or something?” The other giving his friend a smirk answers “It looks that way, these runts need to be taught a lesson don't you think?” Vince whines and struggles in vain to get free from the much stronger man, tears starting to run down his face. “Let us go! Please, let us go! We haven't done anything wrong!” Winter pleads. Ignoring the cubs pleading, the man tightens his grip on Winter's hair.\n“You know it, and I think I know just how to teach them a lesson too!” The man smirks, undoing the front of his pants and pulling his underwear down enough to allow his throbbing mancock out into the open air, inches from Winter's face. Vince's captor pulling up the younger brother's shirt up and off of him, then reaching his free paw down into Vince's underwear to play with the boy's cubhood. Winter feels his heart sink as he watches his little brother crying profusely as the male molests him. Winter's captor gives his hair a rough tug, pulling the cub's head towards his throbbing member. “Now open that cute little maw of yours and suck it!”\n\n“NO!” Winter yells as he punches the man as hard as he can in the balls, causing the man to let go of him, as he howls in pain. Winter runs at Vince's captor, who has already removed his little brother's shorts, and sinks his teeth as hard as he can into the mans arm, causing him to yell painfully and let go of Vince, to hold his stinging arm. \n\t\n“RUN!” Winter yells as he grab Vince by his wrist as they start to run, bolting through the alley with his brother. They ran hard and fast, the angry howling of the two men becoming quieter as they sprinted through the alleyways.\n\nBefore long night falls and the exhausted cubs collapse in another alleyway, against the wall of the city's research center. Vince clutches on tight to Winter, tears still streaming down his face. Winter holds onto Vince tight, trying to comfort his half-naked little brother. “It's okay Vince, we're safe now...” Vince sniffles a bit as he calms down in his brother's arms, soon falling asleep from exhaustion. Winter holds his brother close, petting his head gently as he sleeps. \n\nSoon the doors of the research facility open, a large bear stepping out, looking to be in his late thirties. He readies his keys, ready to get into the four-door sedan and head home for the night. Suddenly he turns after hearing a small whimper coming from the alleyway behind him, the whimper coming from the sleeping Vince. He walks over to the two boys, kneeling down in front of them. Winter scoots up close to the walls as he holds his brother tight, his whole body shaking in front of the large bear, knowing he can't run any more especially with Vince passed out in his arms.\n\n“Hey, are you two okay? You boys look rough...” he says, stretching out a paw warmly, giving Winter a pet between his ears. Winter looks up into the bear's warm and caring eyes, relaxing a bit from his comforting touch. “Are you two all alone? Where are your parents?” the bear asks. Winter looks down a bit his ears lowering slightly and replies “We... we don’t have any parents...” The bear looks deeply into the sad little fox cub's eyes, his face showing deep concern for the two boys. \n\n“Oh, I see... You poor things... Well if you'd like somewhere to stay, you can come with me to my apartment for the night. I think it'd actually be best for the little one there.” the bear said, pointing at the Vince, still wearing nothing but his undies since losing his shirt and shorts to the two men from before. Winter thinks for a minute unsure whether he should trust this stranger. Looking down at his shivering little brother and back up at the bear, he nods, knowing that it was best for his brother. \n\nThe bear smiles and giving the boys a gentle pet on the head, he carefully picks the cubs up and carries them to his car. Getting into the driver's seat, he starts the car and looks back at Winter. “My name is Jason by the way, Jason Bearberry. What are your names?” Winter looks up at Jason and smiles “My name is Winter, and this is my little brother Vince. Nice to meet you!” Jason smiles and starts to drive “Nice to meet you too Winter!” Soon they come to an apartment building. Jason parks nearby and gets out of the car. Opening the passenger side door he picks the two cubs up once again and carries them up to his apartment. He flicks on the lights and carries them to his bed, setting them down as carefully as he can so as not to wake up Vince. “You boys just get some rest okay? I'll see you both in the morning!” he says, giving Winter's ears a quick rub before turning the lights off once more. “Goodnight Jason! Thank you so much for doing this for us!” Winter replies, smiling at Jason. Jason smiles back, slowly closing the door behind him “Sweet dreams little guys.”\n\nBefore long Vince wakes up, still a bit weary. He looks around the room then at Winter, a worried expression on his face. “Wh-where are we brother?” he asks, a faint sense of panic in his voice. “It's okay Vince, we're safe now.” Winter says, holding Vince tightly “I'll explain everything in the morning.” Vince nods and cuddles up to his big brother, tearing up and burying his face in Winter's chest. “I-I was so... so scared... but you saved me from those mean men, brother... th-thank you...” Vince says through his tears, gripping onto Winter tightly. “You're my brother, I couldn't let them hurt you Vince. I'll always be here to protect you. I'm sorry I couldn't grab your clothes though...” Vince \n\nWinter holds Vince close him, and as the two lay there the room seems a bit brighter... They both lay there in amazement as they notice their markings begin to glow, illuminating themselves and the dark room. Finally Winter smiles and wraps his arms around his little brother and pulls him closer and whispers \"Ill always be here Vince, you'll always be safe in my arms\". Vince smiles back and begins to tear up more as the two stare lovingly into each others eyes. Vince whispers back \"I love you big brother.\"Winter kisses his little brother's forehead and whispers back. \"I love you too.\" Soon the two brothers slowly drift off to sleep, holding each other close as their markings glow a brilliant blue, a symbol of the love the two brothers share for one another. I'm... so tired...” Vince whined, his footpaws stinging and his eyes getting heavier. “Okay Vince, let's rest here.” Winter said as he loosened his grip on his little brother's paw. The two boys sat against the wall of one of the many tall city buildings, breathing heavily as they try to catch their breath. Vince whimpered as the cold night air sent chills through his small body. Winter, noticing his brother shaking and whimpering from the cold, wraps his arms around him, pulling him in close and keeping him as warm as he can. “Th-thank you brother...” Vince whispers as he leans in to his brothers warm embrace.

Vince looks up into his brother's loving brown eyes and speaks up again “...what are we gonna do now? Where are we supposed to go?” Winter stares back down into his little brothers bright blue eyes, seeing the worried expression on his face. “I don't know... But I promise I’ll think of something Vince, try and get some sleep 'kay?” Vince nods and rests his head on his brother's chest, comforted from hearing Winter's heartbeat for the first time since they were taken to the orphanage. Winter gently pets his little brother's head as he relaxes, smiling as the smaller cub slowly drifts off to sleep. “Goodnight Vince, I promise you things will get better soon...” Adjusting himself as carefully as possible, he falls asleep as well with his brother in his arms.

Winter opens his eyes wearily as the sun shines down warmly on the two brothers. He yawns and rubs his eyes, letting them adjust to the light. He looks down at his little brother, still clinging to Winter, fast asleep. Winter smiles and gently pets Vince's head as his stomach lets out a low rumble. Knowing they needed to find food soon, he gently wakes Vince from his sleep. “Mmmngh... Morning big brother.” Vince says, letting out a small yawn. “Morning Vince, did you sleep well?” Winter asks, giving Vince a rub between his ears. “Mhm!” Vince replies happily, as his belly gives off a low rumble as well. Winter smiles and bumps his nose with Vince's. “Let's go see if we can find somethin' to eat 'kay?” Winter says as the two stand up and stretch. Vince nodding his head in agreement, he takes his brother's paw as he leads them both off into the city streets to find something to eat.

Soon the boys wander into an old alleyway, neither of them sure where they were anymore. Suddenly they hear the sound of laughter coming from behind a door nearby. The door opens and a couple rough looking males step out into the alleyway, obviously drunk from their slurred speech and abnormal laughter. The boys watch as the men stumble and try to walk, trying to keep out of sight from behind a nearby dumpster. Soon one of the men notices the two cubs peeking from behind the dumpster and grabs Vince by the wrist, the other grabbing Winter by the hair.

The one holding Winter by the hair grins darkly “What do we have here? A couple nosy little brats lost or something?” The other giving his friend a smirk answers “It looks that way, these runts need to be taught a lesson don't you think?” Vince whines and struggles in vain to get free from the much stronger man, tears starting to run down his face. “Let us go! Please, let us go! We haven't done anything wrong!” Winter pleads. Ignoring the cubs pleading, the man tightens his grip on Winter's hair.
“You know it, and I think I know just how to teach them a lesson too!” The man smirks, undoing the front of his pants and pulling his underwear down enough to allow his throbbing mancock out into the open air, inches from Winter's face. Vince's captor pulling up the younger brother's shirt up and off of him, then reaching his free paw down into Vince's underwear to play with the boy's cubhood. Winter feels his heart sink as he watches his little brother crying profusely as the male molests him. “RUN!” Winter yells as he grab Vince by his wrist as they start to run, bolting through the alley with his brother. They ran hard and fast, the angry howling of the two men becoming quieter as they sprinted through the alleyways.

Before long night falls and the exhausted cubs collapse in another alleyway, against the wall of the city's research center. Vince clutches on tight to Winter, tears still streaming down his face. Winter holds onto Vince tight, trying to comfort his half-naked little brother. “It's okay Vince, we're safe now...” Vince sniffles a bit as he calms down in his brother's arms, soon falling asleep from exhaustion. Winter holds his brother close, petting his head gently as he sleeps.

Soon the doors of the research facility open, a large bear stepping out, looking to be in his late thirties. He readies his keys, ready to get into the four-door sedan and head home for the night. Suddenly he turns after hearing a small whimper coming from the alleyway behind him, the whimper coming from the sleeping Vince. He walks over to the two boys, kneeling down in front of them. Winter scoots up close to the walls as he holds his brother tight, his whole body shaking in front of the large bear, knowing he can't run any more especially with Vince passed out in his arms.

“Hey, are you two okay? You boys look rough...” he says, stretching out a paw warmly, giving Winter a pet between his ears. Winter looks up into the bear's warm and caring eyes, relaxing a bit from his comforting touch. “Are you two all alone? Where are your parents?” the bear asks. Winter looks down a bit his ears lowering slightly and replies “We... we don’t have any parents...” The bear looks deeply into the sad little fox cub's eyes, his face showing deep concern for the two boys.

“Oh, I see... You poor things... Well if you'd like somewhere to stay, you can come with me to my apartment for the night. I think it'd actually be best for the little one there.” the bear said, pointing at the Vince, still wearing nothing but his undies since losing his shirt and shorts to the two men from before. Winter thinks for a minute unsure whether he should trust this stranger. Looking down at his shivering little brother and back up at the bear, he nods, knowing that it was best for his brother.

The bear smiles and giving the boys a gentle pet on the head, he carefully picks the cubs up and carries them to his car. Getting into the driver's seat, he starts the car and looks back at Winter. “My name is Jason by the way, Jason Bearberry. What are your names?” Winter looks up at Jason and smiles “My name is Winter, and this is my little brother Vince. Nice to meet you!” Jason smiles and starts to drive “Nice to meet you too Winter!” Soon they come to an apartment building. Jason parks nearby and gets out of the car. Opening the passenger side door he picks the two cubs up once again and carries them up to his apartment. He flicks on the lights and carries them to his bed, setting them down as carefully as he can so as not to wake up Vince. “You boys just get some rest okay? I'll see you both in the morning!” he says, giving Winter's ears a quick rub before turning the lights off once more. “Goodnight Jason! Thank you so much for doing this for us!” Winter replies, smiling at Jason. Jason smiles back, slowly closing the door behind him “Sweet dreams little guys.”

Before long Vince wakes up, still a bit weary. He looks around the room then at Winter, a worried expression on his face. “Wh-where are we brother?” he asks, a faint sense of panic in his voice. “It's okay Vince, we're safe now.” Winter says, holding Vince tightly “I'll explain everything in the morning.” Vince nods and cuddles up to his big brother, tearing up and burying his face in Winter's chest. “I-I was so... so scared... but you saved me from those mean men, brother... th-thank you...” Vince says through his tears, gripping onto Winter tightly. “You're my brother, I couldn't let them hurt you Vince. I'll always be here to protect you. I'm sorry I couldn't grab your clothes though...” Vince

Winter holds Vince close him, and as the two lay there the room seems a bit brighter... They both lay there in amazement as they notice their markings begin to glow, illuminating themselves and the dark room. Finally Winter smiles and wraps his arms around his little brother and pulls him closer and whispers "Ill always be here Vince, you'll always be safe in my arms". Vince smiles back and begins to tear up more as the two stare lovingly into each others eyes. Vince whispers back "I love you big brother."Winter kisses his little brother's forehead and whispers back. "I love you too." Soon the two brothers slowly drift off to sleep, holding each other close as their markings glow a brilliant blue, a symbol of the love the two brothers share for one another.
