"...144, 145, 146." the soft bell that was Viola's voice echoed from tile to tile as small splashes of water played a natural melody under her. Her bath was lovely so far.
"147, 148, 149... don't be estupido, Patches." she spoke to her bunny doll, "Ree DOES loves me. 150, 151, 152."
The sly drip of a faucet created a beat that Viola's ear unconsciously bounced to. Otherwise, she had been enjoying a fairly typical second bath of the day. Just one more bath to go before the night ended. Viola had pulled up a chair for Patches to sit beside the tub, and as always, she had waited for the steam to entirely fog the mirror before undressing. All that was left was to bask in the wonderful feeling of sudsy water and count the tiles on the wall. So amazing, all these tiles were pristine and perfect; not even one out of place, chipped or missing... not like her old home. Back in her old apartment, most of the tiles were jagged, dirty and many of them had gone missing even. What kind of person would take a tile. ¡Dios mío!
"...153... Patches? How come you always ask about my feelings for ReeRee... you know I love her, you dumb old dusty bunny!" She narrowed her single eye at him. "Quit being jealous. That's no good."
He sat, eyes tiny black marbles within a mass of gnarled fabric and stitches. He was quite overstuffed, and though frequently washed, still looked mucky and wrong. Viola sat up in the tub and rested her elbows on the corner to look at him; nodding in agreement to words only she could hear. Still, despite the rhythm of the nod, her ear taped to its own beat -- that drip-drip-drip music.
"You literally always literally say that Patches and I always say mi amor would never ever hurt me. I like her bites and scratches and the ... the... tough grabbing holds... you know.." She gestured an unusual combination of a headlock and tackle. Her mime was bad, she didn't need Patches to remind her.
At that moment, Viola heard a forceful knock at the bathroom door.
"Yo, Figface! You've been in there for like 40 minutes. You didn't... drown or anything, did you?" The muffled rasp of prima Vera behind the door. How wonderful she was to check on Viola and yet she must've not been looking at a clock. It had only been 32 minutes.
"Lo siento." Viola apologized sincerely towards the door before shooting a sharp golden-eyed glance back at the foul-mouthed bunny. "Prima Vera is not a doodoo head! You should bite your tongue, conejito!"
"What did you say?" Vera rasped a whine that was somehow hard to hear and clear as day. "I, like, REALLY don't want to go in there, especially if you're still naked."
"See what you did?!" Viola hissed at the insolent Patches before speaking clearer. "I'm almost done, please don't get mad."
"Um.. cool... just don't drown or anything." Vera's older voice faded as a patter of her long strides carried her away. Thud thud thud. Gone.
"WHAT? VERA DOESN'T SOUND LIKE A ROOSTER!!" Viola scolded Patches and swatted him off the chair and onto the tiled floor. Her hands clasped her mouth as the horror that Vera might walk back; struck. She waited and listened; suddenly aware that one ear was swinging to the sound of the drops.
Fortunately, Vera had not returned.
"You're super suerte Patches. Vera would kill us both." She peered over the side of the tub and down onto the floor where he sat; plopped on his side. "Look, why don't I help you--?"
"Why is VeeVee talking to PatchesRabbit like she is angry?" The eccentric voice of Viola's girlfriend, Ree, intruded as she walked in and pressed her body to the door to close it behind her; keeping her strange eyes locked intent on Viola. It seems she let herself into Viola's home through the back window again. "Would Vee like Ree to silence him?"
"REE!" Viola sat up with excitement, "Waaaaait... how did you... get passed--"
"The purple-haired girl is sitting on the porch with the fat girl who smells like cigarette-water. Ree thinks they are trying to talk to the white furred fag-puppy on the screenbox." Ree's large eyes never left Viola's mouth; referring to Vera and her friends.
"Ohhhh.... Hunter? I like him. He brings me treats and is nice and sweet." Viola chirped with a sing-song tone while pulling Patches back onto his chair.
Ree ticked, visibly annoyed. "ReeRee doesn't think she much likes this Hunter-Gatherer fag-puppy much."
"Well you shouldn't be, mi amor. Prima and Zara are going to go to a drive-in tonight so that means we get the living room all to ourselves. You know what that means!" Viola eagerly clasped her hands together.
"ReeRee gets to destroy VeeVee on the couch?" Ree said oddly; her tail wagging and spanking the ceramic tiles of the tub.
"No! Movie nigh-- wait, what?" Viola's head tilted; the tips of the ears of her always-eccentric hats plopping into the bath water. "But, mi amor, we can only do that in my room, remember?"
Ree violently shook her head. "ReeRee will do it anywhere if it was with her... 'me aim more'... VeeVee..." Ree shut her eyes as if she were in pain. "...you. Uhh. Is what Ree is trying to say."
There was a moment of silence between them which ended when Viola violently jerked towards Patches in her arms. She gave him a deadly glare which he... couldn't respond to.
"Did the PatchesRabbit say the bad things about Ree again?" Ree nodded; already knowing how this whole thing worked.
"Yeeees..." Viola sunk halfway into the water; stopping at her eyes.
"Tell PatchesRabbit that PatchesRabbit is lucky VeeVee likes it." Ree glared at the doll with a sinister smirk. "Ree does not like it."
"I will tell him, mi amor." Viola chuckled a little; always amused when Ree pulled those threatening faces.
"What did PatchesRabbit even say?" Ree asked; now sitting cross-legged on the tile floor; her back still pressing the bathroom door shut.
"Mr. Conejito said that... uhm..." Viola turned her face; blushing a bit. "...that you..." Viola's eyebrow rose as she looked down at her doll again; squinting a bit and changing what she was originally going to say. "...that youuuu... would be bad for trying to do that thing you were talking about before...?"
"The fuck did PatchesRabbit say?" Ree huffed. As if spurred by the challenge, Ree suddenly rolled up her messy thrift store shirt revealing her soft and pointed breast.
"Wait um.. right n-now..?" Viola squeaked, as Ree wiggled her underwear down and crawled into the tub onto her. "Y-You don't even have that pointy purple thingie on!"
Ree nipped hard on Viola's ear's and pushed her hips hard to Viola's. "ReeRee has it in VeeVee's bedroom." she muttered with a devious smile. "ReeRee and VeeVee would have to wait until purple-haired girl and fat-girl leave to see fag-puppy for ReeRee to prove PatchesRabbit wrong~"
Viola gulped hard and found that she had no more memory of what tile had left off counting as Ree eagerly and gleefully took her in the tub while Patches quietly observed.
"HEY, FIGFACE!" Vera called from the other side of the bathroom door; not so much as a knock this time.
Viola froze up in horror as Ree continued to bite and suckle on her neck; completely unaware -- due to her deafness -- that Vera was even at the door. "Y-yes, prima Vera?" she eyed the silver handle of the unlocked door like a hawk as water sloshing around in the tub; pouring out onto the tile floor as Ree grinded against her.
"I'm gonna go hang out with my friends now. You're almost out, right?" Vera said with the sound of others conversing somewhere in the house.
"Uhm... y-yes prima. I'm almost DONe." her voice weirdly cracked when she said 'done'; unable to handle what Ree was doing to her without making any noises.
"Okay then." Vera paused for a moment. "You sure you'll be okay though? We'll be out for a few hours so uh... I can wait for you to get out, you know. Unless you'r--"
"I'M FINE!" Viola nearly screamed; just wanting nothing more at this moment than for Vera to go away. "I mean... I'm fine. Please don't wait for me -- I will b-be... uhh... drying... my hair. It'll take forever, you know! Por sienpre! Ehhh... si..."
"...uuuh." Viola could hear Vera crossing her arms from the other side of the door. "Well okay then, little cuz. I'll see you later. Have fun drying your hair or whatever."
With each step Vera took away from the bathroom, the more Viola calmed down. That is, until Patches decided to say some more disrespectful stuff.
"Mr. Conejito!" Viola snapped; Ree finally stopping to see what was happening as if she was completely oblivious this whole time. "NOT ANOTHER WORD ABOUT MI PRIMA!!"
