One Tail To Another

Chapter 2:
The Date

Last time we left off, Chucky Choo has fallen head over tail for the lovely Leilani.  However, he intends to tell her a tall tale about being a wealthy CEO.  Let's see how it goes on their first date.

Chucky: -has made it to Hawaii-  Hmmm...let's see...-reads the slip of paper Leilani gave him that has her address on it, tries to follow the directions, then he manages to reach the address on the paper-  Let's hope this wasn't a prank.  -inhales, then he knocks on the door-
Leilani: -answers the door-  Oh, hi!  Glad you could come!
Chucky: You are?
Leilani: Come on in.
Chucky: Alright.  -enters the house- Wow!  Nice place you got here!
Leilani: Thank you.  Would you like something to drink?
Chucky: No, thanks.  I'm good.
Leilani: OK.  Go ahead and sit on the couch.  I'll be right back.  -heads to her room-
Chucky: -sits on the couch, sighs- I could get used to a place like this.  -grabs the TV remote, turns on the TV, watches a sitcom as he waits-
-a few minutes later-
Leilani: -enters the living room, wearing a fancy dress-  Ready to go?
Chucky: Go?
Leilani: Aren't we going out tonight?
Chucky: Huh?  Oh!  Oh, yeah!  Our first date!  Hold on a sec.  -reaches in his shirt pocket, takes out his wallet, checks to see how much money he has, he doesn't have very much-  Uhhh....I think I forgot to go to an ATM on my way here.
Leilani: That's OK.  We can each pay for our own meals.
Chucky: Are you sure?  -puts his wallet back in his pocket- I mean, isn't the guy supposed to pay for everything during a date?
Leilani: It's fine, really.  Besides, that's such an outdated custom.
Chucky: Well, I suppose I'm ready to go.
Leilani: I know just the place to go.
Chucky: Lead the way.
Leilani: Gladly.
-they leave the house and head to a luau themed restaurant-
Chucky: Hmmm...-looking through the menu-  Everything here looks pretty expensive.
Leilani: Oh, it's not that expensive.  After all, you are a wealthy CEO of a successful company, right?
Chucky: Uhh...yeah!  Right!  -chuckles nervously-
Waiter: -comes in- Are we ready to order?
Leilani: I'll have your sirloin steak, medium rare.
Chucky: Uhhh....I'll have what she's having.
Waiter: Good choice.  -walks away-
Leilani: So tell me.  What does your company sell?
Chucky: Uhhh....we make and sell video games.  We've made lots of popular series, including one about some mustached plumber.
Leilani: -laughs-  You silly Willy!  That's Mario, and that's made by Nintendo.
Chucky: Oh.  -thinks to himself- (Don't get caught in a lie, Chuck.)  -out loud- Actually, we made games about some crazy marsupial.
Leilani: Are you sure it's not Crash Bandicoot?
Chucky: D'oh!
Leilani: Just kidding.
Chucky: Can we talk about something else?  Let's talk about you.  What are your interests?
Leilani: Oh, I'm a sucker for cute animals, especially kittens.  They're so cute and fuzzy!  I also love poetry; especially romantic poems.  Anyway, I was born in Dragontopia, but I spent most of my life here.  My parents are very rich, but they're not like those greedy rich humans.  Since I'm an only child, I'm supposed to be next in line to inherit my parents' fortune.
Chucky: Are you going to take the money?
Leilani: Some, but not all of it.  I also would rather earn money with hard work.  So that's why I have a part time job working as a waitress for one of our local beach bars.
Chucky: I see.
Waiter: -comes in with two plates of steak, places them on the table-
-the dragons begin to eat their steaks-
-after they eat, they pay their bills and leave the restaurant-
Leilani: I know another place to go.
Chucky: Alright.
-they head to a beach, they watch the sunset together-
Chucky: I never thought this would happen.
Leilani: What?
Chucky: Sitting on a beach with a pretty girl as we watch the sunset together.
Leilani: Well, you can cross that off your bucket list.
Chucky: Yeah. -looks at Leilani-  Hey, Leilani?
Leilani: Yes?
Chucky: Do you like me?
Leilani: Of course I do!  You're a great guy to be with.
Chucky: You think so?
Leilani: Mm-hmm.  -kisses Chucky on the cheek-
Chucky: -blushes-
-the scene changes to Chucky and Leilani heading back to the house-
Leilani: I had a good time.
Chucky: Me, too.
Leilani: -enters her house- I look forward to our next date~ -closes the door-
Chucky: Next....date? -blushes, then smiles-  Yes!  Yes!  -whooping as he slithers away from the house-
