I walked alone, advised this was one of the rare nights us strangers were allowed in without an escort or a membership, taking in the sights and sounds. For it's small size, this place certainly didn't lack in character. Where I expected coffins, cape and cowls, and white face paint, I saw mahogany tables, a live band loudly playing their latest EDM works (or were they covers of someone else's?), and a bar that was better stocked than most I'd seen. Only the faint linger of stale smoke from nights before contrasted with this dark, brooding paradise. Even that, however, was eclipsed, or rather, loudly overshadowed by a fine creature in the corner booth. \n\nI took in her sweet, spicy scent, typical overpowering ferret, entranced for a brief moment before my wits kicked in and I realized she wasn't just sitting there, chatting it up with the other goths. In fact I had to wonder what that person underneath her was thinking, looking incredulous but curious, enticed. I was clear across the room, they were a few inches away from her ladyparts. \n\nI walked to the bar to get a closer look, see what all this was about, something mirrored by several patrons. As we huddled around she looked up and gave us all a toothy grin before grabbing a pocket knife and delicately probing her depths with it, making an exacting cut with maybe a few drops of blood. Surprising, and though I knew I should feel a bit disturbed by this, I felt calm, at peace watching this show.
