The best genius of magic is not in the effects of the spells themselves, but rather in the application of the effects that one can create from the spell.  For example, Yes, one can simply use one of their spells to create a vortex of pure air blasting against an enemy from which to force them against a wall.  However, imagine using that same blast to also throw your Barbarian towards said enemy with their weapon out and ready to impale said villain.  

Creative uses of magic are the bread and butter of a good adventuring group and Chel'ah is is definitely one to come up with a few... unusual applications of her spells.  So, why worry about fighting off a group of heroes when you could be 'encouraged' to join them in a little bit of fun for the night instead.

Better stock up on some scrolls of Remove Disease though before keeping up with the adventure.
