A quirk of the Starmaninjian universe is how relationships work. Generally because females outnumber males about 2:1 and because of the nature of how they store energy in their bodies, the male will generally mate and reproduce with several females having one child per female (females can also have multiple male partners but they generally have one child per pairing). The child will generally become the \"spouse\" of the parent and live with them. So though Kao's father is Rayoka. Kao is connected to his numerous siblings by Rayoka mating with his mother and aunts, but Kao is more the husband of his mother and acts as the \"man\" of the house while Rayoka lives elsewhere. Though it sounds like the father isn't part of their children's life, the opposite is true, he regularly visits all his children, but happens to live with one because he saved her life, the Pachoda Queen, Zaiphara. This perspective is what allows the Stars to maintain families but also expand their families as Kao does the same thing when he gets older, living with his daughter Siberia as his wife while having several children. The mother of his daughter Luna has a son with a different male, Roka (the male she mates with is Sylvian) but because of that, Siberia and Roka are siblings and Sylvian becomes part of the Ratzu family. It's all a positive thing here.\n\nThough one thing to note: Because Kao is Sulana's son, he can't actually reproduce with her. She can birth Neutraninjian children from him (they're just pets who are part of nature), but she can't have a Neoninjian child cause he already is her child. They still mate a lot cause they share energy that way and Kao's mostly there to keep her company. All Stars live this way. And on a similar note: Rayoka is Sulana's brother.
