  "description": "I've been spending a lot of time upgrading my work station to be able to draw more easily, but also practicing a new shading and coloring style. The result is an attempt at a more realistic attempt at light control, adding texture and future proofing my work so if there are mistakes or adjustments, I can easily redo them. It'll take awhile to really get the hang of the new style but after a lot of practice I'm starting to get to where I'd like to be. \n\nThe technique involves drawing the sillouette of the character using layer masks and then overlapping the colors using layer masking so adjustments are really easy to make. Then I carefully shade in the details, ideally using one layer for shadows and one for ambient occlusion. The result is mostly better control in the lighting. \n\nAnyway, I'll be doing more art like this, I'll be fixing some older drawings I made using this technique (like the one of Flocera and Mammary), but I probably will still keep the \"Toon\" style for some works like animations.
