I was sitting in a meeting just drawing a sketch, but was feeling severely depressed because I felt like I lost touch with my characters and art in favor of the real world and that gave me too many reality checks. So I was drawing this and something halfway told me that I should make this Sylvia. I didn't recognize her immediately in more casual clothing since she usually dresses in very regal or introverted ways to hide herself from the world, and the character looked more like Sprite, but she told me she had her hair tied up a bit at this point. \n\nStill it makes sense and really brought me back in a sense. This is a side of Sylvia I don't normally show off, but mostly cause my memories of what she was like in the Ratzu universe are kind of foggy...or should I say, in the dark. She's mysterious definitely, but being the mother of Siberia and Kiara...and Kao's creator and long time wife, there's a lot more to her than can ever meet the eyes, especially given she's the goddess of darkness, shrouding herself in mystery IS her nature.\n\nSylvia Ratzu is copyright to Kao Ninjaratzu (though I belong to her, copyright laws and all...)\n\nTrivia:\n\nWell this isn't trivia at all, I didn't draw her claws cause I ran out of room. Granted Starmaninjian claws are retractable, they rarely are retracted cause the shine draws eyes towards them usually. \n\nI wanted to draw her facing away to show how big Starmaninjian tailsides are in a sense. They're bigger than they seem.\n\nNow for actual trivia, Sylvia's hair used to be long like Polara's, but she cut it indirectly when she temporarily went to earth to pose as a real wolf. When moving to Starmaninja unknowingly, she kept it short cause she couldn't seem to let go of the pain she felt and didn't want to revert to her true form until she met her daughters again (she knew they were still around, but didn't know where they were, particularly Siberia, until many years later). She grows it back slowly as Twilight Polaris and at the end of the story, it's fully grown again, but rather than being reddish silver, it's now blood red in color, adopting her new color scheme.\n\nAgain, Sylvia is her REAL name. Suna is a nickname caused by her mispronouncing the word Luna due to her having a mild lisp when she was a child (she didn't speak much, often preferring to be alone until she met the Spiritual Ratzus). She created the name Luna to try again when she became a Starmaninjian, and Twilight yet again is a nick name made up to conceal her true identity when she started reviving herself. \n\nin a doubly ironic way, her name \"Sylvia\" does kind of refer to the definition \"From the forest\" coupled with the fact that she has very light silver fur when in her favorite light setting, dark. But her name does refer to the fact that in thick forests, everything is darker because the trees absorb and block most of the light. Hence the existence of Nocturatzu forest, which is the main home for Wolfie and her family as well as the edge where Kao lives initially.\n\nSylvia's hair and claws change color to reflect her overall mood. Being bright reddish pink when she's shy and stalwart Suna, dark purple when she becomes depressed and morbid Luna, and bright blood red when she becomes the vengeful Twilight. In the end, they end up being Siberia's color of bright hot pink. She's one of few characters who's claws change colors this way, but it's actually a coincedence. \n\nand finally, for those curious, Sylvia's voice is very similar to Blaze the Cat. She even has a very similar personality. This is kind of a coincedence, but Blaze is my top favorite Sega Sonic female and one of my top favorite official female characters of all time. The top spot really goes to Bunnie Rabbot, who inspired me to draw in the first place, but her personality didn't match the intensity of what Sylvia and Kao had to go through. Despite that, Siberia actually has a similar personality to Bunnie, just with a different accent, and many...MANY Starmaninjians reflect her very belle like traits as well, such as often calling their mates \"Sugar\" even if they don't have southern accents, and being extremely motherly and family oriented even if they're single or children themselves.\n\nDespite the title, Sylvia still doesn't particularly fancy showing herself, but she's kind of warming up a little.
