This is basically what I came up with thanks to a modeling software called \"Makehuman\" to help me get an accurate body that I could just stitch the Starmaninjian parts to easily. \n\nThe mesh isn't complete though (barring the fact that I haven't modeled the tail or anything) because the mesh itself is actually quite unclean and not very smooth in some areas. I'm actually thinking of importing this mesh into Sculptris (another opensource software that's great for modeling) and tweaking the model there, smoothing out the breasts and cleaning up the verticies. Once that's done, I'll put it back in Blender and start finalizing everything. \n\nYou'll notice that she's standing with her feet flat on the ground. THis is because I wanted to model the feet flat initially, then use the poser to have the feet go digitigrade. In various games where characters stand on thier toes, thier feet are usually modeled with thier toes bent naturally, which causes complication in how the feet are animated (usually the foot forms a diamond shape because the balls of the feet are physically too large for the toes to wrap around and the toes have no room to pivot ultimately. So it looks natural when the foot is standing, but when it's flat, it looks awkward.) So once I do that, the Starmaninjian model should stand properly. \n\nAnother thing to point out. The Perspective camera is best for getting details just right, but can make certain parts look WAY bigger than they actually are. Since most of my drawings are done orthographically (meaning everything is scaled as if your eye is staring at the STarmaninjian from enough of a distance that depth doesn't have an effect on thier stature), it was hard to translate the 2D drawings into 3D (especially for the toes and breasts). So there will be some differences in the models versus the drawings, but that makes sense none the less. (It also made screenshotting really awkward, the model looks best when close up, but when zoomed out, it's hard to get a good angle that shows everything how I'd like. Starmaninjians are huge though, so I should be used to it none the less.)\n\nAnyway, the Starmaninjians are copyright to Kao Ninjaratzu\n\nEnjoy!\n\nTrivia:\n\n1. These models may look like they're going to be used for animation, but they're also references. Because Starmaninjians have quite unique anatomy, I can't just look at a reference to figure out how to pose them exactly (their torsos are similar to humans but not exactly. Their legs are much larger and their arms are slightly shorter). This goes especially for the head since the head is the hardest to draw at different angles consistently.\n\n2. I'm getting more and more used to Blender. The actual modeling and stitching and all didn't take very long. About an hour maybe. Most of the day was spent cleaning and tweaking the model though...I REALLY wish I just thought of using Sculptris in the first place, but it's not easy to edit the length of legs or what not. Also my computer lags if I try to move the entire foot due to the high polygon count...but nothing else seems to slow down.\n\n3. Once I finish this model to perfection. I'm going to use it as a base to edit other similar models. Starmaninjians all look similar anyway, so it should be easy to tweak features. \n\n4. Like with 2D art, definitely feel free to use multiple software to get the effect you want and remember that models can be transferred to other software without losing data. There are many formats out there, but for the base meshes and information, the simplest formats are good enough. \n\n5. Well, here's hoping I make more progress on this. Sucks due to my OCD as an artist, imperfections won't be tolerated, but I gotta remember, even Pixar and Nintendo have made modeling mistakes in even thier most recent projects. It doesn't have to be perfect. \n\n6. As for who this will end up being....not sure. Probably Kiara if I can get the hips right (The butt looks good though, but the legs are still too small)","description_bbcode_parsed":"<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>I finally got in the mood to do some 3D modeling again and decided to finally work on the body (after fiddling with the foot and head for awhile).
