It was an Inkasi peach daisy, and while the little one probably didn't understand its meaning, Mazia's smile broadened.\n\n\"Is this for me?\" she asked playfully.\n\nA bouncing nod was her response. She cupped her paws around the offered flower and brought it tenderly to her nose, petals waving and tickling in the breeze.\n\n\"Daisies are my favorite!\" she chirped. Serene kindness on her face as she lowered the flower to her breast. She had been taught the flower was a sign of youth and joy, and it never seemed anything else to her. Long days as a young girl, running over the grassy hills at the end of the forest, wearing only these flowers in her hair and the sun on her fur. Mazia's warm eyes met her little friend. \"They remind me how fun it is to be a kid.\"\n\n\n\nIn the eyes of her family and tribemates, Mazia sometimes seems naive to the notions of right and wrong. She tries not to make waves, keeping the peace at home, but sometimes unabashedly follows her heart, which always leads her in the right direction as far as she's concerned. Even if it does get her into trouble. This makes the civet girl something of a child at heart. Kindness comes naturally, and when repaid in kind she accepts enthusiastically.\n\nIt still takes a pinch of bravery on my part to put these digital drawings out there, and I worried through the whole process whether I would do Mazia any justice.
