Kavarda finally turned away and moved wearily back into his chamber, paused for a moment then threw himself into his chair and slumped over just as Tamm, his small bunny boy student came rushing in. "My Lord..the creatures are at the gate! They will be here in minutes." Lord Kavarda did not move. For several seconds he remained slumped over with his staff in his hands across his legs, then he looked up and nodded." Let them come. I am done with fighting. They wanted this world, they are welcome to it." Tamm blinked, then looked toward the great stone door which even now was reverberating with the sound of hammers and axes. It would hold..but not forever. Tamm suddenly felt a strong hand on his head and powerful but gentile fingers ruffling his white hair and stroking one of his long white bunny ears. He looked up and saw the face of his teacher and friend smiling down at him "But that doesn't mean we can't get you out of danger and strike one last blow against these creatures." Tamm smiled weakly and was about to ask what Kavarda meant when the wizard slipped away from him and headed to his Dark Chamber, the source of all his accumulated wisdom and knowledge. "I have one last spell to prepair Tamm. Once this door closes it will not open again till I am through." Kavarda said as he approached and the huge metal door swung wide, revealing a chamber almost limitless in size that seemed to stretch for miles in all directions. As he continued in lights suddenly came on and as he reached the threshold Kavarda turned and smiled at his young protege one final time" But when these doors open again you must quickly enter and take what you find. You won't have to do anything but lay hands on it. It will do the rest." He paused, then said in a low voice" You are the best student I've ever had the privilege of teaching young Tamm..and I make this promise to you. One day, one of your ancestors from across the stars WILL return here and drive these creatures back to the Hell they came from once and for all time!" And with that he turned and entered the Dark Chamber. The great metal doors closed behind him and that was the last Tamm ever saw of his teacher and friend.
Kevin moaned..and slowly sat up. Far above him the bright light of noon shown down like a spotlight, revealing little of the huge chamber he had fallen in. He shook his head, sneezed and slowly got to his feet cursing himself for not checking the area better. He was about to call to Toxy to come when two bright green lights appeared in front of him and a deep voice boomed out in the dark chamber"Hello Kevin Snowpaw. You've finally arrived!" Kevin squeaked and brought his hands up in front of him..lightening crackling and flashing between his fingers as the light from the electrical arching lit up the room even more and he was able to see the source of the voice AND the lights. Directly in front of him, standing upright with no visible support was a staff of dark wood. Ruins were burned into it's length and two feathers or cloths. one green and one blue were tied to the top. But it was what was hovering above the top of the staff that made Kevin blink and drop his hands in spite of himself. A large green skull with glowing green eyes was looking right at him..and as he watched the jaw opened and the same deep powerful voice spoke "I am Kavarda,and we should start your lessons as soon as we can. You have much to learn and we have much to do!"
(heehee) uh...sorry...got a little carried away there. But this is a little something I came up with on the fly to go with the picture I just did of Kevin and his new...uh..."accessory". ;D Don't worry about it, it's just a silly little thing that might be something some day. Got WAAY WAAY to much other stuff to finish first.
Anyway, Kevin finds a green skull thing and gains all kinda of neat powers. He also gets a new outfit which I had a lot of fun doing. It's nothing special but it was a chance to do something different. I'll be putting a background in once I decide on a good setting.
In the meantime, read or not as you wish. There is no TL;DR. If you don't want to read it I don't care. I did it for myself and to share with anyone else who wants to. :)
