When Rusty Hamilton had embarked upon the journey of becoming a world-famous rockstar along with his adoptive brother and two friends, he had found himself in a number of odd situations, like being sent a laundry bag full of female fan’s underwear, or explaining to an annoyed hotel manager in Dallas, Texas about why their hotel room had green smoke filling it.
But had you said to Rusty that he'd one day be on a beach in the middle of Greece watching a naked vixen stand in the sea whilst summarising the story of Jason and the Argonauts, he'd have told you to fuck off.
Her name was Aurora, and she was unlike anyone he’d ever seen.
Currently, she stood facing away from him, as naked as the day she was born and up to her arse in the clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea. The expanse of azure liquid stretched away to the horizon, with a few islands standing out on the place where the water met the sky.
“...the first island they put in at was Lemnos – that island over to the East there – where Hephaestus fell when he was thrown from Olympus...”
The vixen extended her left arm and pointed far off into the distance at one of the islands.
Rusty had never really thought of finding romance since Whyte Knuckle had started. Of course, there were many female fans of the four boys, and while Ricky and Maxxie took delight in pleasing them, and Geiger shied away, Rusty himself never paid them much attention. He was definitely there more for the actual music and the performing than to pull anyone.
But when the end of Whyte Knuckle’s ‘Europe To No Good’ tour ended in Greece, the boys decided to have a well-earned vacation, staying in Athens for 3 days after their final concert. But even then, Rusty liked having things to do, not liking being idle for such a time. Thus, he decided to go to a local history museum.
One of Whyte Knuckle’s greatest hit songs was ‘Zeus the Thunderer’, a hard rock dedication to the king of the Olympian Gods. Thinking of Iron Maiden’s success with mythology-related songs, Rusty’s goal at the museum was to find more subjects for song lyrics.
Rusty had never really believed in love at first sight; no, that was an antiquated and withered old concept, resigned to those rubbishy novels that his grandmother read.
But oh, how that changed when he met the museum tour guide, Aurora.
