Stanley's Adventures INTRODUCTION It was three in the afternoon. The school bell let out a mighty roar, signaling the students that the final school day had finally come to an end. Herds of students rushed out of every exit of the building, eager to begin their summer break. One student in particular was especially eager to be out of school. Once all other students had left, he popped his head out of the door and checked all directions for anyone possibly waiting for him. Stanley Dard, a very shy boy, slowly and shyly walked out of the school. He was well known for being rather popular in school. But for some reason he didn't enjoy it. He was …. irresistible. It all started out as just being considered as adorable and precious from family and others. But as he finally reached the age of ten, something in him just brought hoards of people to him. Mostly girls. He would constantly be fought over by girls his age who wanted to sit next to him, be coddled by his teachers, and on rare occasions, picked on by some boy that would for some reason always bring up how "cute" he was. To some, this would be heaven. But for Stanley, it was hell each and every day. He wished to just be left alone. To somehow shift all the attention he gets to someone else so he could be at peace. He clenched his eyes shut as he continued walking home, glad to hear none of his teachers, classmates, or other random person calling out to him. Still wishing that he could get rid of this curse. Or at least go to a different world. Any world as long as it wasn't this one. His eyes shot open as he heard the honking of a car horn. He turned his head towards the direction of the sound and froze in fear as he saw a large vehicle coming towards him. His body was stuck in place, not moving an inch. His eyes glued to the front of the large vehicle. He clenched his eyes shut and shielded his face with his small arms. Within milliseconds, he felt the sharp pain of the impact run through his body as he was hit head-on. He felt himself fly back several feet only to somehow slow down in air until he finally came to a stop. Still scared and shielding himself, he slowly lowered his arms and peeked his eyes open a bit. That was when he realized he wasn't on the street anymore. It seemed as though he wasn't even anywhere. All around him was a black void in which he seemed to be floating in. He gasped as he looked around. Seeing nothing but darkness, he questioned himself about what had happened. Before he could get too far into that, a small light began appearing before him. It began growing bigger and bigger until it was around the size of an average beach ball. Curious, he began to reach for it. Only for his hand to pass through it as if it were nothing. "W-What is this?" He asked himself. He threw himself back as he heard the glowing orb give him his answer. "This is purgatory, child." A gasp was let out of him once again as he heard its voice. It was feminine but at the same time, echoey and robotic in a way. Slowly, he began to approach it once again. "Purgatory? Does…..that mean I died?" He felt himself shake a little upon thinking of such a thing happening to him. How could he have let this happen to himself? "Yes…..but, I am here to give you life once more while granting you your wish." Stanley looked at the glowing orb with confusion. He began thinking of what they meant and immediately remembered the last thing he thought of before he was hit. "Y-You mean, I won't be getting so much more attention anymore?" He asked with excitement, thinking this horrible curse would finally be over. "Yes…..in YOUR world." The orb said. Suddenly, she began to glow a bright pink. "M-My world? What do you mean by that?" Stanley asked as he watched the orb grow in size and change in color. "You wished you could move onto a new world. And that is what I am going to do. Take you to a new world so you can see just how well you had it back in your own. But before I do, there need to be some preparations made. For starters, your body….." The pink from its shape began to separate from its being and form into a separate orb on its own of the same size. It began shrinking more and more until it was barely the size of a small pill. Slowly, it began to descend itself to Stanley's face and hover just in front of him. He tried to open his mouth to ask what that was but was stopped as it flew into his mouth. He began to sputter a bit as he felt his body begin to tingle all over. He felt something similar to electricity course through him and almost immediately died out as if nothing had happened. He looked at his body and saw no differences whatsoever. "I don't…..feel any different." Looking up at the bright orb, he saw it begin to lower itself to him again. "Not yet you don't. Prepare yourself…." A chill ran down Stanley's spine as he heard that. "Prepare for what?" He asked but wasn't answered. Instead, he was greeted to a surface he could stand on. He tapped his foot down on it and found out it was nice and sturdy. "A floor? Why do I need to prepare myself for this?" He turned back up to see the orb being but instead, saw something large coming towards him at great speed. It appeared to be a large block made of metal. "WAAAAAIIIIIIT!!!!" He raised his arms up to try and stop the large object. But it was obviously in vain. A large clunk noise was heard as the block had fallen right onto Stanley. Burying him underneath the metallic object. It stood there, not moving a single inch. Not a sound was made. Not even from the orb. Suddenly, the large block began to ascend into the air. Underneath it, Stanley wasn't bruised, broken up, or even mangled. Instead he was……flattened. About as thin as a sheet of paper. His form only revealed his face looking up and his arms to the side from being in the position he was previously. His eyes moved left and right, revealing he was still alive. A small glow emitted from his body and before he knew it, he popped back up to his feet in his original shape and dimensions. He looked at himself all over, questioning what just happened. "I-I'M…..ALIVE?!" He asked in shock after having been so frightened just now. "But of course. You can't die again in purgatory. Consider this an improvement to your durability. Your body can now withstand several tons of weight without being destroyed in any matter. Not only that, you will not need oxygen to survive while being buried underneath large objects. Allowing you to remain buried for an indefinite amount of time." Stanley listened to every word of this but was getting more confused with each one. "B-But…..why?" He threw his arms to the side, bewildered as to why he needed all this. "Because where I'm sending you, you will be faced against obstacles that are going to be quite large and hefty. Some of them might even be a bit friendly. Which reminds me….." Like before, the orb began glowing a different color. Instead of pink, it glowed a bright blue like hue. It separated from the orb and began to lower itself to Stanley once again. He stood there as it lowered itself down to him. His hands clasped over his mouth, not wanting to choke on it again. But this time, it lowered even further down. This time…..it entered his crotch. He immediately felt a strong tingling feeling and fell to his knees. His hands grabbed at his crotch, groaning as the sensation began making him feel odd. Soon, it began to weaken until it disappeared. He got to his feet and began to pant. "Haah……haah….what the-" "Do not worry. You will find out what gift I have bestowed upon you in due time. But for now, I believe everything is in order. You have your invincibility and your durability. Now all I must do is decide where to take you first…." The orb began to lower itself to Stanley, changing colors as it remained silent. Stanley just watched until something sparked into his mind. "Wait! What do you mean where you're gonna take me first?!" Nothing was said. The orbs' colors kept shifting and changing. "H-HEY! Answer me!" He stomped his foot down, trying to grab its attention. "If I'm not going home, where am I going?!" Once again, silence filled the void. It was only broken as crumbling noises began to come from the invisible ground Stanley stood on. He looked down and saw that white cracks began forming underneath his feet. He tried changing positions only to see the cracks follow him. "AHHH! H-HEY! SOMETHING'S HAPPENING!" He screamed out, running away from the cracks only to not be going anywhere at all. Any step he took, new cracks formed while previous ones pursued him. "......you said you'd rather be in any other world as long as it wasn't yours. And so, I am giving you your wish. Plus, a little more. Instead of your world, you will be passed around the multiverse, going from reality to reality, universe to universe, where you will be subjected to exactly what you left behind in your previous life. But this time, it will be multiplied tenfold. You will be even more irresistible than before and even when you find yourself in trouble, you will not be harmed. All that's left is deciding where to take you first. And I believe I have finally found it……" Listening to the whole speech the orb made, Stanley felt his entire being fill with panic and worry. He attempted to run faster but the cracks seemed to continue advancing on him. "W-Wait! This isn't what I wished for!" He called out to the orb, hoping to be given mercy. "You wished to be in a new world. Any world as long as it wasn't yours. And now, that is exactly what you will receive. Enjoy your stay in the new world while you can, Stanley. You will be moved to the next one soon enough…." And just like that, the orb faded away into the darkness. Leaving Stanley to run in a futile attempt to escape. The cracks grew and grew behind him while new and bigger ones formed with each step. It wasn't until he tripped over his foot and fell to the ground. He let out a grunt as he made impact to the floor. He looked around as the cracks surrounded him in all directions. There was nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. All he could do was keep still in hopes it wouldn't give way. Suddenly, the sound of glass shattered was heard and Stanley found himself plummeting down into another endless abyss. He let out a scream as he fell down. His arms reached out but there was nothing to grab. Afraid for his life, he clenched his eyes shut and braced for impact. Instead, he found his mind growing fuzzy and his heart rate slowing down. He began slipping out of consciousness and disappeared into the darkness. Where will he end up? Only time will tell…… The End
