When she came to pick them up. A little lion cub was with them. She found this odd, because she hadn't seen lions in this area before They usually lived farther north of her home town. When she spoke with the cub, who was barely able to toddle and talk, she came to find out that he had no memory of who he was or where he came from. She took the little Lion cub to the police station, and inquired if they could look up any facial recognition of the boy. \n\nThey found no cub even close to their hometown that fit this little cub's features. It was as if he popped into existence out of nowhere. Being a mother, she didn't want to abandon the little Lion. He was so adorable, and in the little while he had spent time with her, his cute personality stole her heart. The police said they would do some more digging for the cub's identity, though they felt there wouldn't be any luck in digging up anything. The only face that even seemed close was a cub named Simba, but it had been confirmed by another police force in another city that that cub had passed away a week ago in a freak accident. There's no way that a cub confirmed dead could just come back from the dead, though there was the fact that no body of him was found. The only thing they had to confirm Simba's passing was his torn up blanket found in a river. This little Lion cub was too far from the location that Simba would have passed away to be Simba, the cops concluded, and so, in that instance, they confirmed, that while it was not a normality for a leopard family to adopt a lion, it wasn't unheard of, and they suggested it to be the best course of action. They had seen documentaries where a cheetah was adopted by a tiger family.\n\nSo, with that statement in mind, Juno decided she would adopt the little lion cub and expected to see proper paperwork and such in the coming days. She told the police that she would name the cub Mathias. Because she saw him as a gift to her family. The police agreed it was a fine name. After that, she made a trip to the doctors to ensure that little Mathias was in good health. The doctors confirmed that Simba didn't have any serious ailments that would stop his growth, however, they did give her the heads up that he would develop slower than Nova, his new sister and Ravi, his new brother. He would need mother's milk and be needing diapers for a longer period than them, not only because he was a lion, but, because of his time alone, his digestive system and bladder were underdeveloped. It wouldn't hinder him for life, just slow his progress in growing. \n\nJuno had no quarrel with the conditions the Doctors put out. She had only recently weened Nova and Ravi, so, it wasn't like her milk had run dry yet.
