A lost-in-thought fox grasped her steering wheel as she sped down the street heading towards a destination that she had no idea how she will react to when she arrived. Lotus, the aforementioned fox, consistently had to manage the fact that her hands were clammy and weak yet she needed to control her wild beast of a vehicle. A large fluorescent light flickered in the reflection of her truck's driver side window displaying the name of a store of some kind: The Rhinestone Adult World.
A soft rock song cut out as she slowly turned off the ignition; gulping as she pulled her keys out. She thought of the Faelyne girl, Jinx, a student in which she had been tutoring recently, and their 'sessions'. Things had gradually escalated during these lessons with the young Jinx coming on stronger and stronger each time alluding to her desire... and not very subtely either. Finally, when the statement "You can do anything to me if you want, I won't tell." arose -- Lotus opted to buy a certain toy. Plus, she was going to be tutoring Jinx in her parents' restaurant at closing time which meant nobody was going to be there.
Lotus would be all alone with Jinx in the restaurant's office area.
She had procrastinated over the weekend; spending her time either working or hanging out with friends which pushed the awkward trip to the adult store for later. Her anticipation was like that of someone expecting dental work with dread and anxiety taking precedence.
Lotus walked the parking lot as her face felt warm and tingly and her fingers wove around her truck keys. Every part of her wanted to lower her tail and leave, but there was the promise of finally indulging in a girl she had been enjoying the company of so much.
She wished the parking lot was much longer, either way.
As Lotus walked in she was bombarded with an oppressively clean plastic odor. Her snout furrowed slightly as her bangs curtained around her face. As Lotus' eyes adjusted to the white light inside, the store was hardly the dingy sex dungeon she anticipated. Two attractive fox and badger women stood behind a circular counter surrounded by exotic packages and aisles of strange devices. She darted into a thin alley of books; afraid that one of the women might recognize her somehow. Hundreds of scantily clad furs gazed at her from the box cover art of many videos.
"Gah! This is the worst!" Lotus mumbled and staggered around, meekly walking away. She took caution as if everything was covered in spiders with her hands cautiously and defensively outward. She crept -- her target slowly became visible as she glanced side to side before making a quick stroll towards a narrow alley of strap-on accessories.
Lotus fidgeted nervously in her pocket as she fished out her phone. She had checked her bank account religiously and knew her balance and yet she was compelled to do it again. Maybe the account would be drained and she could leave denying everything... but... then she wouldn't be able to make love with Jinx in the way she wanted to. What a predicament.
Either way, no dice, she still had the exact amount as the last time she checked. She sighed, both relieved and not, and slid her thumb across the screen to open her gallery app. She glanced about quickly and sneaked a brief look at a nude pic she had captured of Jinx.
It was enough inspiration.
A paw, numb to her and yet her own, reached out and clutched the package for a strap-on, and with adjustment was able to pull it from it's metallic hook. "Deluxe sensual pleasure for male and female use" it stated on the cover. Lotus shuddered reading it in her head. Pulling the adult toy close to her she took a small judgmental look at the other choices which were all of different sizes and shapes. "You're all too weird or too small" she mentally berated the strap-on competition.
She strolled toward the counter but her heart sunk into the deepest pit imaginable before she reached it. A familiar face had appeared.
A jackalope her age and a close friend of her friends, Midian, walked in without cowardice or hesitation and seeming to have a sure direction. She dropped to the floor, her knees both making a small painful thud. She hadn't even the slightest idea what he would be doing here and prayed he did not recognize her truck outside.
Midian passed the aisle without a second look. Phew.
Curiously, she rose; watching him from around a corner. He had swiftly snatched up not one, but two boxes of condoms. She tilted her head almost wanting to throw caution out to get that narrative, but her toy might not be as easy to explain. She could just drop it temporarily... but then again her presence at the store would also not be easy to explain.
Midian approached the counter; placing both boxes down and presenting his wallet.
"Oooh, nice choices." the badger cashier said with a bite of friendly sarcasm. "Though I'd be careful, those ones are weirdly huge. Meant for bigger species and stuff." Lotus tried to read the label of the condom box and realized it said something like 'Lovemaker -- Extra Extra Large: Absolute Destruction'.
Yikes.
"Eh... well, these aren't meant for me, these are for my video project. They make amazing blood squibs." he sounded charmingly naive. Lotus guessed that his conditioning with their mutual friend, Parfait the crazy party beaver, had left him unfazed by this. The cashier raised an eyebrow and Lotus watched Midian offer a small smile. "A blood bag, they can handle a lot of abuse but will also pop in a nice gush of fake blood. I am shooting a horror movie"
The cashier seemed to accept this -- offering her best "whatever" smile and rang him out.
Midian left as quickly as he came in.
Lotus was never one to watch a situation unfold and not learn from it, and with that, she rose to her feet and strolled, with more confidence, to the counter. As she approached, she set the toy down, and in the moment the cashier went to speak, Lotus cut in: "I'm making a horror movie!"
