Koda looked at the boy and started to notice some things. From what he could remember humans usually walked about on two legs but this one was crawling about on all fours kind of like them. He wasn’t wearing any clothes and looked pretty dirty as if he had been roaming about on his own for a while now. It even got close to Kenai and sniffed at him.

“Uh, Kenai? Are you sure he’s a human?” Koda asked with some uncertainty.

“Of course he is!” Kenai responded. “Koda, you stay here with him. I need to find his parents. They must be around here.” Without looking back or saying anything else, Kenai was already racing off, leaving Koda alone with the strange boy.

“Uh...” Koda swallowed nervously as the boy bounded right up to him, leaning in to sniff at him before circling around to look at Koda from all angles. “Hey, what’s your name?” Koda dared to ask. The boy stopped to face him again and grunted something before looking at Koda expectantly.

“...Right,” Koda responded. “Well I’m Koda,” he introduced and then blinked when the boy nodded and seemed genuinely friendly towards him and that caused Koda to relax some and realize that this human boy could understand him. From what he was told, humans weren’t good at talking to other animals, at least not in this way. Koda gave the boy a smile back and that seemed to make him brighten up even more.

“Yeah, this is the place where I live. I mean...not this forest but the salmon run just ahead. It's got a huge river and when the running season comes there’s more fish than you could ever count... Oh, that was Kenai back there. He thinks that your parents are nearby. Are they?” Koda asked after some rambling. The boy seemed to think for a moment and then shook his head.

“So you’re all by yourself?” Koda asked and he got a nod in response. “And you have been for a while, huh?” The next nod he got was accompanied with a sadder look on the boy’s face.

“Well, I was on my own for a bit but then I found Kenai. And now you found me! Kenai was a human and the other bears took him in. I don’t how we can turn you into a bear too. But I’m sure they’ll let you join until we figure that out! You can stay with us!” Upon saying that, the boy all but threw himself at Koda and he again found himself playfully wrestling but with someone closer to his size.

It was a bit of a challenge but Koda managed to win, pinning the boy down. Through the rush of winning, Koda was reminded of what happened after he and Kenai wrestled along with what usually happened to losers, even if he hadn’t made a bet in this instance.

“You know...” Koda said with a different tone in his voice. “Usually the losers of these games have to do a certain thing. And this works out because it’ll also help you get accepted by the bears.” The boy looked curious so Koda dared to roll over and over, getting onto the back and showing off his loins, pointing to them with his paw. “You know this? You’ll have to suck on it until the stuff comes out. The bears call it marking. They can always smell it.”

The boy nodded and moved in pretty fast which made Koda say something again. “Whoa. Careful. And...I think I’ll call you grunt. Because that’s the sounds you make. Does that sound good?”

Accepting his new name, Grunt got in between the bear cub’s spread back legs, taking a look at the animal’s groin that was much different than his own, his eyes transfixed on the pink pointed tip that was poking out, followed by more pink shimmering inches that were sliding out after it, all until Koda was fully erect.
