They were eager to have the rat study a strange meteorite that had fallen on a cattle ranch just outside of Alamogrande. At first, Michelle rejected the offer. More interested in her own research than someone else's, but when she saw what had crawled out of this hunk of space rock she quickly forgot everything else. It was some unknown green substance, and it had done something to the dairy cows. Each one sported a large, lumpy belly so large that they're hooves barely touched the ground. Ultrasounds had revealed eggs, hundreds and hundreds of them.\n\nFor weeks she had subjected it to dozens of tests, but each one proved unsuccessful. It didn't even respond to lab animals. Michelle had hoped it was a sentient being, a new species capable of reproduction. But now she was beginning to doubt herself. As the centrifuge slowed to a stop Michelle jotted down her findings with a sigh of disappointment.\n\n\"I just can't understand it,\" she mumbled.\" \"It's cells didn't separate, this stuff just keeps surprising me.\" Michelle had been hoping to study the goo's cellular structure, but that idea had just flown out the window.\n\nMichelle put down her pen, finished with her notes, and reached out her hand to remove the vial. She had forgotten that the swivel chair she had been sitting in earlier was right beside her, and as the albino rat turned, she bumped into it. Sending the chair rolling into the far wall with a bang. Michelle's arms flailed as she fought to keep her balance, and with a look of horror watched the glass vial fall from her paw and shatter on the floor.\n\n\"Oh, God dammit,\" shouted Michelle angrily. There goes my only sample!\"\n\nMichelle turned to look for something to scoop the goo into when she felt something slimy curl around her ankle. Looking down the rat gasped. The goo was moving.
