It is a color of authority, but also rebellion. \n\n\n\nBlack is flexible in that it is a color of several connotations; it can represent evil, the occult, death, mourning, and other forms. On the positive side of things it can represent elegance, strength, sophistication and formality. Black is flexible even in its character designs both good guys and bad guys wear black which leads now into my own little ramblings with this color: \n\nBlack is an awesome color not just in it's representations but also it's function as a color scheme. This flexibility comes mainly from how well it contrasts with the rest of the colors. When paired with a brighter hue as a secondary shade it can give the eyes a place to rest so that they're not overwhelmed by the vibrancy. As a primary color with the bright hues its' darkness helps the other hues stand out and creates a striking design.\n\nBlack is BADASS! Some of the collest characters sport it as their main color; Shadow the Hedgehog, Big-O, Tetsujin 28, Mazinger Z, Devil Man, Fulgore (Killer Instinct.) Noob Saibot, Akuma, Batman and TONS more. Black is the color of both bad-ass heroes and the most twisted of villains and there's sometimes an air of mystery that falls into it with this color, and it is a sexy color along side with being bad ass. \n\nAs for my own ramblings on the color: Black is bad-ass and beautiful, but it's also a very strong emotional color. \n\nOn the times I've used black as a color; this dark shade along with white are both elegant colors you can see it the handful of characters I do have in my roster; Jaila, Isis (though not black fully they were originally this color but close enough still for today :> )Polycera, and so on, even these black pixies shown here sport the color as a vibe of elegance. \n\nBlack is also an intelligent color: You wanna look professional? Black's definitely the best way to go, though one character that comes to my mind who has black as part of his primary color: Darkus Elucid, a rival to Jeffron Purescale who is every bit as strong as he is but has an advantage often because his technology is integrate on top of this so he's always got some kind of trick up his sleeve when it comes to combat, of course many members of Darkus' race sport the dark scales. \n\nBlack is also a strong color for emotion, for those who may have seen what happened over the last couple days; Black is useful in expressing a pain and anger so deep it takes on a malevolent form and although I prefer to sport red as my representative color, Black is always something to have around when I feel the need to depict the deepest and darkest aspects of myself, something that every person will have to tangle with the Black Dragon in this case would be the worst case scenario emotionally. I even refer to the feelings of pain and darkness as simply 'The Black Flame.' \n\nIn any case I guess I do have a TON of things to say about black, it's an awesome color hands down.
